Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze students' needs for Android-based learning media, especially for the basics of computer operation. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using the research topic of grade VII students of SMP N 8 Jangkang. This research uses the ADDIE learning design model, ADDIE itself is Analysis, Design, Development & Implementation, and Evaluation. It's just that the stage used in this study is only limited to the analysis stage. The instruments used are in the form of questionnaires for student needs and questionnaires for teacher needs. The data obtained in the study were then analyzed using a percentage formula. The results of the analysis show that 68% of the material on the Basics of Computer Operation is an applied subject, so that in the learning process it not only uses theoretical concepts but is also accompanied by practices that require students to be more independent so that learning media is needed so that it can be learned both in the form of e-modules (video, audio) so that it can be learned anywhere using android. The results of the analysis of the needs of 1 Information and Communication Technology teacher and 32 grade VII students showed that 90% of students had difficulty understanding the material. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a need for the development of android-based interactive learning media on the material Basics of Computer Operation.

Abstract

The problem of plagiarism in writing scientific articles is intellectual dishonesty and received a lot of attention during this research, and relatively few students understand about plagiarism. A total of 16 respondents from final year students of the English education department involved in this research. The single group pretest-posttest comparative method was used to assess an action to determine the performance gap between the two time periods, before and after the intervention. Student papers were first submitted to measure their level of plagiarism without their knowledge. The results showed that Muhammadiyah Enrekang students practiced plagiarism on average 50.88%. Subsequently, the students were introduced by Turnitin's plagiarism detecting software and advised to examine their writing using software. The learning model intervention is then carried out with development training. The results showed that the average level of plagiarism among students decreased by 18.81%. In terms of students' perceptions of using Turnitin as a standard way of submitting their final assignments and to get feedback, the overall student reaction to the system used was positive. To avoid plagiarism, a more systematic approach should be taken by the University towards the problem of academic dishonesty, and in particular by students for the specific reasons why they practice plagiarism.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the problems experienced by teachers and parents in implementing distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic and the efforts taken by teachers and parents in overcoming the problems of distance learning at SDN 102 Makale 5. The implementation of distance learning is divided into in two methods, namely in-network (online) and offline (out-of-network) methods. This research is a qualitative research carried out using a case study approach with participants including teaching staff (teachers) consisting of representatives of young and old teachers (6 people) as well as representatives of parents of students from high and low economies at SDN 102 Makale 5 ( 6 people). The main instruments in qualitative research are the researchers themselves and there are three tools for gathering information, namely questionnaires, interview guides, and document studies. The subjects in this study were informants, namely people who provided information about the data needed regarding teacher and student perceptions of the impact of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at SDN 102 Makale 5. Based on the data collected and analyzed, it was found that teacher problems in carrying out online learning consisted of 4 indicators, namely indicators of learning activities, internet networks, learning resources, and handling learning difficulties with parents. Meanwhile, the problems of parents of students in carrying out distance learning consist of 3 indicators, namely, the readiness of parents in distance learning, the provision of learning facilities and infrastructure, and the handling of student learning difficulties.

Abstract

One of the wealth of the Indonesian nation is the many tribes with their own languages and scripts. One of the scripts that has existed since long before the independence of the State of Indonesia is the Javanese script, with the use of Latin script used by almost every aspect of life, both official official activities and daily use, the use of traditional scripts, especially Javanese script, is increasingly scarce. To facilitate learning the Javanese script, learning media is needed with the ability to recognize Javanese characters. In this study, pre-processing was used, especially feature extraction using the Histogram Chain Code (HCC) method and classification using artificial neural networks using the Multi Layer Perceptron method. This study compares four research models by setting the number of HCC feature extraction parameters obtained from one intact image and 3 divided images of 4, 9 and 16 parts respectively so that the total parameters of each HCC model are 8, 32, 72 and 128 parameters characteristic. The training and testing process using the Multi Layer Perceptron method uses 2000 handwritten Javanese script image data which is divided into 80%, namely 1600 images for the training process and 400 images for the testing process. This research resulted in different accuracies, namely 57%, 78%, 83% and 76%. The best accuracy is obtained from the HCC model with 72 parameters and the image is divided into 9 sections.
