Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the application of Guided Inquiry  learning that able to improve self-confidence and understanding of mathematical concepts of grade VIII students of SMP N 13 Mataram. The type of research used is classroom action research. The subjects of this study are 33 students in grade VIII/E SMP N 13 Mataram. The research instruments used consisted of teacher and student observation sheets, self-confidence  questionnaires and evaluation test sheets. Based on the learning results in the first cycle, the results of the implementation of teacher activity learning were 67.77% with the good category and the results of the percentage of student activity were 57.27% with the sufficient category, then the results of obtaining student self-confidence were 62,01% with the appropriate category, and the completeness of student learning was classically 30.30% with the low category. Meanwhile, in the second cycle, there was an increase obtained from the percentage of teacher activity of 86.60% (very good) and student activity of 80.90% (very good), while the results of student self-confidence were 93,02% (very appropriate), and the classical completeness of students was 81.82%. Based on the results of the research, the researcher in this study has increased from cycle I to cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that through the application of guided inquiry  learning, it can increase self-confidence and understanding of mathematical concepts of students in grade VIII/E SMP N 13 Mataram

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to improve the activity and understanding of mathematical concepts of SMK Nurul Islam Sekarbela students. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects in this study were X DKV class students with a total of 10 students. The instruments used were observation sheets and test sheets. The results of Cycle I research show that students' Learning Activities are in the Moderately Active criteria with a percentage of 67% and students' Mathematics Concept Understanding is in the High category with a percentage of 75.32%. Furthermore, in Cycle II there was an increase in student learning activities to be in the Active criteria with a percentage of 78% and students' understanding of mathematical concepts also increased to be in the Very High category with a percentage of 86.64%. Thus it can be concluded that through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can increase the activity and understanding of mathematical concepts of SMK Nurul Islam Sekarbela students.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study is to find out the influence of project-based learning models on the adaptive mathematical reasoning ability of students of grade VII at SMPN 2 Lenek. The method used in this research is experimental research. The design of this study is based on Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The samples used in this study were two classes where class VII A as experimental class and class VII B as control class, then both classes were given different treatment i.e. in experimental classes were treated with a project-based learning model whereas in control class were given conventional learning models, after given further treatment were given posttests to find out the final ability of students. The test results of the hypothesis obtained thitung = 4,741; ttabel = 1,045 or (thitung 4, 741 > ttabel 1, 045). Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of project-based learning models on the ability of mathematical reasoning students in SMPN 2 Lenek school year 2023/2024.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to improve mathematical problem solving abilities using the STAD type cooperative learning model in Class XI Saintek 4 SMAN 2 Mataram Academic Year 2023/2024. This research is classroom action research (PTK). The classroom action research procedure for each cycle consists of four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The instruments used were teacher and student observation sheets, and student test sheets. Based on the research result, it shows that the results of students’ abilities increased from the initially low results obtained, namely 34,375 % to 91,428 %. the results of teacher observation and student’s observation which were initially low at the begininning of the cycle experienced a significant increase at the end of the cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the STAD Type Cooperative learning model can improve students' problem solving abilities so it is hoped that teachers will ensure that in the teacher's teaching and learning process can apply the STAD Type Cooperative learning model.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-based learning model on mathematical literacy of students of SMAN 1 Lembar. The method used in this research is quasi experimental method with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The subjects of this research were students of class X SMAN 1 Lembar. The samples used in this study were two classes where class X 1 as the experimental class and X 2 as the control class, then the two classes were given different treatments, namely the experimental class was given treatment with a problem-based learning model while the control class was given a conventional learning model (lecture). After being given treatment, in the form of a pre-test, then a posttest is given to determine the final ability of students. The instrument used in this study is to use a test consisting of 3 essay-shaped questions. The analysis technique used is using t-test statistical analysis with the help of SPSS 25. From the results of the hypothesis test the sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of problem-based learning model on students' mathematical literacy.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the creativity in utilizing Visual basic for applications (VBA) in PowerPoint as a learning media among students in the Mathematics Education program. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The study was conducted in the Mathematics Workshop Room at the Mathematics Education program, Mandalika University of Education. The subjects of this study were 6 randomly selected students. The instruments used in the research consisted of 6 questions covering the experience of using VBA in PowerPoint for learning, the benefits of VBA, and the students' interest in VBA. Data collection techniques included observational interviews and observation of the VBA products created, which were then compared with those made by the researcher. The data analysis techniques employed were coding and thematic analysis, derived from interview results and the comparison of student products with the researcher's product. The results indicated that three participants, S1, S2, and S3, were unable to create VBA in PowerPoint correctly, mainly due to errors in writing the code in the VBA worksheet, resulting in non-functional outcomes. Two participants, S4 and S5, successfully executed VBA correctly. One participant, S6, not only successfully executed VBA but also managed to develop it further. Based on these findings, subjects S1, S2, and S3 were categorized as having low creativity due to their inability to execute VBA in PowerPoint. Subjects S4 and S5 were categorized as having moderate creativity, as they could execute VBA in PowerPoint. Subject S6 was categorized as having high creativity, as they were able to execute and further develop VBA in PowerPoint. Keywords: Creativity, VBA PowerPoint, product   Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kreativitas terhadap media pembelajaran visual basic for application (VBA) PowerPoint pada mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif  dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian ini  Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 6 orang mahasiswa yang diambil secara acak. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 6 soal yang berisi, pengalaman penggunaan VBA PowerPoint dalam pembelajaran, manfaat VBA, serta daya tarik mahasiswa terhadap VBA. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan melakukan wawancara observatif dan observasi hasil VBA yang dibuat dan dibandingkan dengan milik peneliti. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan coding dan thematic analysis dimana ini diporeleh berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan analisis produk mahasiswa dengan peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 3 peserta, S1,S2 dan S3 yang tidak mampu membuat VBA power point  dengan baik dan benar. Dimana kesalahan yang dilakukan yaitu kesalahan dalam menulis kode pada lembar kerja VBA, sehingga tidak dapat dijalankan. Untuk 2 peserta, S4 dan S5 dapat menjalankan VBA dengan baik dan benar. S6 dapat menjalankan VBA dengan baik dan benar, bahkan mampu mengembangkannya. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat dikategorikan bahwa Subjek S1,S2 dan S3 dikategorikan kreativitas rendah, karena tidak mampu menjelankan VBA PowerPoint. Untuk S4 dan S5 dikategorikan kreativitas sedang , karena mampu menjalankan VBA PowerPoint. Dan S6 dikategorikan kreativitas tinggi, karena mampu menjalankan VBA PowerPoint serta mengembangkannya.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of Android-based learning media by utilizing construct 2 to improve student learning achievement at SMAN 1 Batuklaing Utara 2023/2024. The type of research used is development research with the ADDIE model. The research subjects were class XI students at SMAN 1 Batukliang Utara with a sample size of 16 students. Research data was obtained using media and material expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest sheets to determine student learning outcomes.The results of expert validation research are very valid, while those for material experts are also very valid. The practical results themselves can be seen from the teacher's response and the student's response, which from the research data shows that they agree and strongly agree. To see the effectiveness of the media, it can be seen from the comparison of student learning outcomes between those who use Android-based learning applications and those who don't, with a difference in the increase in learning outcomes of 13.378%. This research concludes that  Android-based learning media is valid, practic and effectiv to improve student learning achievement at SMAN 1 Batuklaing Utara 2023/2024

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to increase students' understanding of mathematical concepts through the application of CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) at SMKN 2 Mataram. This research is classroom action research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles and had four stages, namely action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were students of class X RPL I SMKN 2 Mataram, totaling 32 students. The research instruments used were observation sheets and test sheets. The techniques for collecting data in this research are test techniques and observation techniques. There are two data analysis techniques used, namely quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. The result of this research is an increase in understanding of mathematical concepts for class X RPL I SMKN 2 Mataram students after implementing CORE learning capital. The test results increased students' understanding of mathematical concepts in cycle I by 50% (fair) while in cycle II it increased to 93.75% (very good). Observation results in cycle I were 65% (good) and observation results in cycle II were 100% (very good). Thus, it can be concluded that this study shows that the implementation of the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending) model in mathematics learning at SMKN 2 Mataram can significantly improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. It is hoped that this research can become a reference for developing better similar research.

Abstract

This study aims This study aims to examine the difficulties faced by slow learner students in the conjecturing process at SMPN 11 Mataram on the topic of number patterns. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study are 5 students categorized as slow learners based on the IQ test conducted by a psychological consultation and testing agency using the culture fair intelligence test. Data were collected using supporting instruments, namely number pattern problem sheets and interviews. The data analysis techniques employed include data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study show that slow learner students face difficulties in the conjecturing process in solving number pattern problems after passing the stages of observing the case, organizing the case, searching for patterns, and predicting the patterns. At the stage of searching and predicting the pattern, 2 students identified the difference in the formed pattern, while 3 students did not understand the intent of the problem, which caused difficulties in advancing to the formulation of the conjecture, as they could not connect the difference with the general formula. It can be concluded that the difficulties faced by slow learner students in the process occur because the students find it hard to distinguish between the general formula and the specific formula, leading to confusion and an inability to determine the next number in the given pattern. This study provides insights for educators to design more effective teaching strategies for slow learner students, particularly in understanding number pattern concepts through a more concrete approach.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the academic supervision strategies employed by the principal in developing teacher professionalism at SMAN 1 Labuapi. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the principal, teachers, and the vice principal for academic affairs, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive analysis model developed by Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal implements various academic supervision strategies, including individual supervision, classical supervision, group supervision, and reflective supervision. These strategies contribute positively to enhancing teacher professionalism, particularly in pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. The challenges encountered in implementing academic supervision include limited time, varying levels of teacher preparedness, and a lack of optimal follow-up after supervision activities. The principal addresses these challenges by involving the school management team, prioritizing supervision based on teacher needs, and recognizing high-performing teachers with awards. This study concludes that well-planned, systematic, and collaborative academic supervision can effectively improve teacher professionalism. It is recommended that principals continue to develop innovative academic supervision models to foster a culture of quality learning in schools.
