Abstract

The management of boarding systems in Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Boarding plays a strategic role in supporting the achievement of holistic Islamic educational goals. This study aims to analyze and synthesize research findings on the management of MA Boarding dormitory systems based on Islamic educational principles through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Literature was collected from reputable academic databases, including Google Scholar, Garuda, DOAJ, and Scopus, focusing on publications from 2020–2025. The selected studies were analyzed using content analysis and thematic synthesis techniques. The findings reveal that research on boarding school management is primarily concentrated on four themes: character education, management functions, organizational culture, and educational leadership. Effective dormitory management is achieved through the integration of planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling functions with Islamic values such as amanah (trustworthiness), shura (deliberation), justice, role modeling, and responsibility. The study also identifies key challenges related to human resource competence, institutional coordination, and digital transformation. The proposed conceptual model emphasizes the integration of managerial functions and Islamic educational values to strengthen students’ religious character, discipline, independence, and organizational culture. This study contributes to the development of Islamic educational management theory and provides practical guidance for improving the governance of MA Boarding institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structure of best-practice-based educational planning at MTs Assalaam and its contribution to improving instructional quality. A qualitative case study approach was conducted at MTs Assalaam through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, teachers, and educational staff, supported by participant observation and analysis of school planning documents. The findings reveal that best practices emerge from teacher reflection, collaborative lesson planning, active learning, and academic supervision. These practices improve instructional effectiveness, strengthen the relevance of annual planning, and promote teacher engagement and program implementation consistency. In addition, best-practice-based planning fosters a collaborative and adaptive work culture. However, some best practices remain undocumented and therefore have not been fully utilized as a basis for institutional decision-making.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) of higher education has a strategic role in shaping the religious character as well as the social attitude of students in the midst of the reality of a multicultural society. This article aims to analyze the strengthening of student tolerance through Islamic Religious Education from a multicultural perspective. This study uses a qualitative literature review approach by examining journal articles, academic books, and relevant research reports published in the last five years. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, thematic categorization, and conceptual synthesis. The results of the study show that the integration of multicultural values in PAI learning in higher education, through dialogical, contextual, and reflective approaches, contributes positively to strengthening student tolerance attitudes. his strengthening encourages students to understand diversity as a social reality as well as a value that is in harmony with Islamic teachings.

Abstract

Royalties are understood as a form of remuneration for the utilization of intellectual works that are commercialized by copyright users. Although the concept of royalties is not yet widely understood by the general public, it has long been practiced within the book publishing and printing industry. This study aims to analyze royalties as an instrument for managing intellectual resources from the perspective of Islamic economics, using a case study of CV. Al Mannaf Pustaka Pekanbaru, a publishing house oriented toward the application of Islamic law principles. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, conducted in depth through observation, interviews, and documentation of relevant books and scholarly works. The findings reveal that the relationship between authors and the publisher at CV. Al Mannaf Pustaka Pekanbaru is based on two types of contracts, namely the contract for solo quote book writing classes and the manuscript printing contract, both of which can be categorized as ijarah al-asykhas contracts. In addition, there are contractual arrangements between the author or publisher and buyers, which are classified as istishnaʿ contracts. The royalty system implemented is identified as ujrah (wages or remuneration) for the services and intellectual contributions of the author and is found to comply with the principles of Islamic economics, as it does not contain elements prohibited by Sharia, such as riba, gharar, haram, batil, or maisir. Thus, royalties function not only as an economic mechanism but also as a fair, transparent instrument for managing intellectual resources in accordance with Sharia values.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the leadership style of madrasah principals on the effectiveness of senior high madrasahs. This quantitative study employs a survey method. The study population consists of all teachers at private senior high schools in the Riau Islands Province. The sample size is 61, selected using a total sampling technique. Data analysis employs simple linear regression, supplemented by validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and a coefficient of determination test. The results indicate that the principal’s leadership style significantly influences the effectiveness of the madrasah by 40.412, with a significance level of 0.000. The calculated t-value exceeds the critical t-value (40.412 > 2.004) at a significance level of less than 0.05 (0.05 > 0.000). The R-squared value is 0.965, indicating that the principal’s leadership style accounts for 96.5 percent of the variation in madrasah effectiveness, while 3.5 percent is influenced by other independent variables not examined in this study. These findings indicate that the leadership style of the madrasah principal is a dominant factor in improving Madrasah Effectiveness at private Madrasah Aliyah in the Riau Islands. Developing adaptive, democratic, transformational, and innovative leadership styles through training, supervision, and capacity-building for madrasah principals by the foundation and the Ministry of Religious Affairs to sustainably improve the quality and competitiveness of private senior high schools in the Riau Islands Province.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership management of the school principal as supervisor in improving teacher performance at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 2 Karimun, Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a single-case study design, data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving the principal and four purposively selected teacher informants during the 2024/2025 academic year. Thematic analysis reveals that the principal implements four structured supervision stages: (1) systematic and participatory program planning involving senior teachers; (2) supervision through classroom visits with a collegial-humanistic approach; (3) reflective individual evaluation based on written observation records; and (4) multi-programmatic follow-up activities including MGMP sessions, question-item training, motivation seminars, and digital literacy webinars. Supporting factors include adequate school facilities, teacher enthusiasm, and a strong collegial culture, while constraining factors involve the principal's dense administrative schedule, limited budget allocation, and supervision frequency of only once per year. These findings affirm the critical need to increase supervision frequency and integrate digital-based supervision to optimize madrasah teacher performance in the 21st-century education era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization of madrasah principals’ leadership as administrators in enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competencies. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with content analysis based on Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, examining 28 selected literature sources through inclusion-exclusion criteria from Google Scholar, Garuda, and Sinta databases (2019–2026), using Instructional Leadership Theory as the analytical foundation. The results indicate that madrasah principals play a strategic role in administrative management, program planning, organizing, implementation, and educational supervision. Optimization is achieved through needs-based teacher development programs, continuous academic supervision, and a collaborative work culture. This study also produces a conceptual model illustrating the influence pathway of madrasah principal leadership on teachers’ pedagogical competency through these three main mechanisms. Remaining challenges include managerial limitations, time constraints, and resistance to change.

Abstract

This study analyzes the training and development needs of human resources in educational institutions through the method The research method used is library research through the collection of literature data from books, scientific journals with 25 relevant references. The research process takes place starting from topic determination, setting the focus, data collection, to the presentation of the report. The validity of the research results is tested through source triangulation to present an in-depth, objective, and informative analysis. The results of the study indicate that the success of human resource development in educational institutions is highly dependent on training needs analysis to align individual competencies with the target educational institution. The implication is, educational institution managers need to shift the paradigm by making training an investment strategy supported by valid competency mapping instruments and continuous post-training evaluation for the improvement of the overall quality of education.

Abstract

The management of boarding systems in Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Boarding The study aims to analyze homeschooling management from the perspective of Islamic education using the POAC framework and to identify the advantages and disadvantages of its implementation. The study employs an analytical literature review method using content analysis and thematic analysis of relevant journals and books. The results indicate that homeschooling offers advantages such as more intensive internalization of Islamic values, learning flexibility, a conducive environment, and strengthened parent-child relationships. However, homeschooling also has weaknesses, such as limited social interaction, dependence on parental competence, and high demands on time and resources. Therefore, structured management is required for Islamic homeschooling to run effectively.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence and the demands of 21st-century competencies have encouraged learning that is more meaningful, adaptive, and student-centered. This study aims to analyze the implementation of AI-based Deep Learning in optimizing the quality of education. This research used a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The findings show that AI-based Deep Learning can improve learning personalization, student engagement, conceptual understanding, learning performance analysis, and the effectiveness of assessment. The strengths of this approach lie in its ability to make learning more adaptive, interactive, and measurable. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including limited infrastructure, teacher competence, data quality, institutional readiness, and ethical and privacy issues related to student data. This study concludes that AI-based Deep Learning has the potential to improve the quality of education when supported by the overall readiness of the education system.
