Abstract

Fiqh learning plays an important role in shaping students' understanding and religious practices. However, in reality, many students face difficulties in understanding Fiqh concepts in depth, especially in connecting them to everyday life problems. Teaching methods that are still conventional are often less effective in encouraging critical thinking and Islamic legal analysis skills. Therefore, innovation is needed in learning methods, such as the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) which emphasizes exploration and active problem solving. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is an approach that emphasizes solving real problems as the first step in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the implementation of PBL in improving Fiqh learning at Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the application of PBL in Fiqh learning at this Islamic boarding school is able to improve students' understanding of Fiqh concepts in more depth. Students become more active in discussing, analyzing Fiqh problems, and seeking solutions based on relevant arguments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of non-English major students regarding the use of social media in English vocabulary learning and to evaluate the influence of five key social media factors on their perceived effectiveness. A descriptive-correlational quantitative approach was employed, involving 175 first-semester students of Indraprasta PGRI University, Jakarta, who completed an online Likert-scale-based questionnaire. Descriptive analysis showed that students had a positive perception of social media use, with ease of access and navigation (M = 23.08) and constructive feedback (M = 23.05) receiving the highest average scores. Spearman correlation tests revealed that all five factors had a positive and significant relationship with perceived effectiveness, with the strongest correlation found in ease of access and navigation (rₛ = 0.343), followed by constructive feedback (rₛ = 0.324) and interactivity (rₛ = 0.317). These findings confirm that social media has the potential to serve as an effective vocabulary learning tool when designed with attention to accessibility, feedback support, and active engagement. This study provides practical contributions for educators and content developers in designing engaging, safe, and discipline-relevant social media learning strategies.

Abstract

One of the positive impacts of technology in the field of education is the availability of teaching materials in electronic form. In addition to electronic form, electronic teaching materials can also be displayed attractively such as Flipbooks. Flipbook are digital books with a book-like appearance that can contain text, videos, images, or animations. The purpose of this study is to develop e-Book English teaching materials in the form of Flipbooks for Science Education Students. The approach to this research is quantitative with the type of research Research and Development or commonly called development research. The development model adopted is the 4D model but the research was carried out in only three stages, namely definition (Define), design (Design), and Development (Develop). The results of the study showed that the results of expert validation stated that the development of e-book English teaching materials in the form of flipbooks was declared valid in 4 assessment aspects and very valid in 15 other assessment aspects. The results of small group trials on science education students stated that 5 assessment aspects were very appropriate/very appropriate and 5 other aspects were appropriate

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine both the direct and indirect effects of the independent variables psychological empowerment, authentic leadership, and interpersonal communication on teachers’ organizational commitment, with pedagogical competence serving as the intervening variable. This research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods using SEM-PLS and SITOREM analysis. The study sample consisted of 160 teachers from 15 schools located in 5 sub-districts within East Jakarta Region 2. The research instruments included five tools: four questionnaires and one test instrument for assessing pedagogical competence. The results of the study revealed significant direct effects, with six hypotheses accepted and one rejected. Regarding indirect effects, two hypotheses were accepted and one was rejected. Through SITOREM analysis, 15 indicators were identified as needing improvement, prioritized by urgency, while 9 indicators were recommended to be maintained or further developed

Abstract

This research aims to (1) examine the impact of parental parenting on students' social studies learning outcomes, (2) examine the impact of learning styles on students' social studies learning outcomes, and (3) examine the impact of the relationship between parental parenting and learning styles on students'social studies learning outcomes. The methodology was quantitative and employed a correlational strategy, comprising 57 class VIII students at Bani Hasyim Singosari Islamic Middle School. Data was gathered utilizing questionnaires and documentation of UTS scores, then examined utilizing the Two-Way ANOVA method. The outcomes showed that (1) the democratic parenting style (73.68%) significantly influenced learning outcomes (F = 7.221; p = 0.002), (2) the visual learning style (56.14%) also had a significant impact (F = 9.918; p < 0.001), and (3) no significant interaction was found between parenting style and learning style on learning outcomes (F = 0.053; p = 0.818). The study concludes that democratic parenting and visual learning styles independently contribute to improving social studies learning outcomes. Future research should explore additional variables, such as learning motivation or instructional methods, for a more comprehensive understanding of factors affecting student performance.

Abstract

This research aims to discern the perceptions of the academic community at IAIN Kerinci regarding the implementation of the MBKM curriculum, which commenced in the academic year 2023/2024. The research is a descriptive quantitative study. Data were obtained through a survey involving 171 respondents, comprising lecturers and students. The findings indicate that the faculty and students’s perception of the MBKM curriculum implementation at IAIN Kerinci is fairly positive, with an average respondent achievement index of 76.69%. This suggests that the faculty and students support this curriculum implementation as it offers greater flexibility for students to acquire learning experiences. The implementation of this curriculum provides increased opportunities for adaptation and innovation in delivering academic services to students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze project-based learning in the Merdeka Curriculum at SD BPPI Cokroaminoto. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that project-based learning is implemented through several stages, including material introduction, activity design, and project execution. Students demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm, especially for projects that allowed them to apply knowledge practically. However, the main challenge faced is the diversity of students' interests and abilities, requiring teachers to adapt methods and provide flexibility for students in developing their projects. Interviews with students and teachers revealed that students are actively engaged in observing, exploring, and solving real-world problems through project-based learning. This process not only fosters critical thinking and creativity but also enhances student participation in learning. Despite some challenges, the implementation of project-based learning within the Merdeka Curriculum is expected to address existing issues and enrich students' learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the impact of Merdeka Curriculum implementation on improving primary school students' literacy and numeracy competencies. The background of this research departs from the importance of literacy and numeracy as the main foundation in basic education and the urgency of evaluating the new curriculum policy being implemented in Indonesia. The research approach used was quantitative with a comparative study design. Data were collected through literacy and numeracy competency tests given to students before and after the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum, and supplemented with observations and questionnaires to teachers. The results showed a significant improvement in students' literacy and numeracy achievement, which was attributed to the implementation of differentiated learning strategies, Pancasila learner profile-based projects, and formative assessments. The findings are in line with constructivism theory and the competency-based curriculum underlying the Merdeka Curriculum policy. This research provides theoretical contributions to curriculum development as well as practical contributions for educators and policy makers in an effort to improve the quality of basic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the urgent need to integrate sustainable development principles into economic activity materials to raise students' awareness of social and environmental impacts. However, learning this material is still suboptimal due to the lack of learning resources that comprehensively discuss this material.  The purpose of this research is to design teaching modules for economic activity materials based on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). This study employs the Design and Development (D&D) method, referencing the ADDIE model. Research data was obtained through expert validation and testing. Data analysis techniques utilize both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research outcomes consist of a teaching module comprising three chapters, designed to develop students' cognitive, socio-emotional, and behavioral domains. The learning activities in the module are structured using ESD-based methods and pedagogy relevant to the economic activity material. Based on expert validation results, the teaching module received an average rating of “Very Suitable” for use. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test using the N-Gain formula indicated that the teaching module falls into the “ Medium” category. Thus, the ESD-based teaching module has proven effective in supporting the learning process of economic activity materials.

Abstract

Writing recount text is quite a challenging for junior high school students where this activity involves writing skills and also the ability to retell past events using past tense. This study aims to find errors in the use of past verbs that are often made by students in writing recount texts. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, involving 40 student writings in the form of recount texts and teacher interviews as research instruments. The data obtained were then analyzed using Dullay's theory regarding surface structure taxonomy and 81 sentences were obtained containing errors in writing past verbs with details of 17 errors in omission, 12 errors in addition, 41 errors in misformation and 16 errors in misordering. The factors that cause errors in writing recount texts are because students still lack an understanding of the grammar of writing past tense. In addition, the influence of Indonesian grammar also makes it difficult for students to determine the past verb used. This is because there is no difference between past and present verbs in Indonesian grammar.
