Abstract

This study aims to analyze various problems that arise in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Indonesian language learning at SMP PGRI Daru, Tangerang. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach that focuses on providing an in-depth depiction of the challenges experienced by teachers and students during the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. The research subjects include Indonesian language teachers who teach grades VII and IX, as they are directly involved in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at the school. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with teachers as well as documentation, including learning tools and student learning outcome notes. The data obtained were then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions as outlined in the data analysis model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The results of the study indicate that the transition from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum still presents various challenges, particularly in adjusting learning outcomes, preparing teaching modules, and designing a learning objective flow that matches the characteristics of the students. The limitations of learning facilities, especially the limited availability of textbooks, have become the main obstacles in the Indonesian language learning process. Nevertheless, the use of digital devices such as gadgets can serve as an alternative solution in providing additional learning resources for students. From a pedagogical perspective, learning has shown efforts toward being interactive and enjoyable, but the role of the teacher still tends to be dominant, so student engagement has not been fully optimal. In addition, internal factors such as students' interest, attitude, and concentration in learning, as well as external factors like the learning environment, school facilities, and parental support, also influence the success of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Therefore, this study recommends improving teacher competence through In-House Training, strengthening the implementation of differentiated learning, and optimizing educational facilities and infrastructure to support the more effective implementation of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

The increasing phenomenon of risky sexual behavior among adolescents is inextricably linked to limited access to structured and comprehensive sex education. This situation encourages adolescents to seek alternative sources of information through mass media, including radio. This study aims to analyze the role of the Sex Today broadcast program as a medium for sex education for adolescents on Kardopa 99.4 FM Medan, with an emphasis on the communication process, message meaning, and the dynamics of interaction between broadcasters and listeners. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, broadcast observations, and documentation. Informants were selected purposively based on their involvement and competence in program implementation. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive analysis model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and inductive conclusion drawing, and its validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results show that Sex Today functions not only as a one-way message delivery medium but also as a participatory dialogue space that allows for an exchange of meaning between broadcasters and listeners. Interactive and educational communication patterns have been proven to increase adolescents' understanding and awareness of reproductive health issues. Thus, radio remains relevant as a credible and contextual public education medium for adolescents amidst the limitations of formal sex education.

Abstract

The development of digital media has encouraged radio as a conventional broadcasting medium to adapt through interactive communication practices with listeners. This study aims to analyze the patterns and dynamics of interactive communication implemented by Radio Aqila 102.6 FM Medan in building relationships with listeners. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, broadcast observations, and documentation of radio interactive communication activities, both through on-air broadcasts and digital media. The results of the study indicate that Radio Aqila 102.6 FM Medan's interactive communication takes place in a limited two-way pattern, where radio still holds dominant control over the communication flow. The dynamics of interactive communication are influenced by management policy factors, broadcaster competence, and the use of digital media that has not been optimally integrated. This study concludes that radio interactive communication is not yet fully dialogic and participatory, so a more planned communication strategy is needed to increase listener engagement on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

The fast growth of digital technology has changed how people buy things, especially on online shopping platforms like Shopee. When it comes to sharia products, people don't just look at price or quality—they also care about whether the product follows Islamic rules. This study looks at how price and online reviews affect people's choices when buying sharia products on Shopee, using Medan City as an example. The research uses a quantitative method with an associative design. Information was gathered through surveys given to 100 Shopee users in Medan who had bought sharia products before. The sample was chosen on purpose, and the data was analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results show that both price and online reviews have a positive and important effect on purchasing decisions. This means that having good prices and positive reviews helps build trust and makes people more likely to buy sharia products. The study adds to the understanding of consumer behavior in sharia-based online markets and helps sellers create better pricing plans and manage customer feedback effectively.

Abstract

Twenty-first century science learning requires students to possess critical thinking skills; however, in practice, students still experience difficulties in understanding complex biological concepts, particularly virus material, which is abstract and microscopic in nature. This condition has an impact on the low achievement of critical thinking indicators at SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru. This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model assisted by electronic modules (e-modules) on students’ critical thinking skills and to describe the improvement of critical thinking ability in each indicator. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest–posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes: class X.3 as the experimental group and class X.2 as the control group, each comprising 37 students. The experimental group implemented Discovery Learning assisted by e-modules, while the control group applied Discovery Learning without e-modules. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, and critical thinking observation sheets, and then analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain tests. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental group (84.46) was in the critical category and higher than that of the control group (69.17). The average N-Gain value of the experimental group was 71.3%, categorized as moderately effective, while the control group achieved 48.7%, categorized as less effective. Hypothesis testing indicated a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, confirming that Discovery Learning assisted by e-modules has a significant effect and is more effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills on virus material.
