Abstract

In inclusive education, Indonesia stands at a pivotal juncture, striving to balance policy aspirations with on-the-ground realities. This research, encapsulated in the paper "Inclusive Education in Indonesia: Policy Analysis, Challenges, and High- Quality Implementation Efforts towards Achieving Access and Educational Equality for All Students with Special Needs," is a meticulous exploration of the Indonesian context. The study employs a mixed-method approach, seamlessly combining quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. Our findings paint a comprehensive picture of inclusive education in Indonesia, revealing both the promising developments and the formidable challenges that persist. The awareness of inclusive education policies among educators is commendable, with approximately 78% acknowledging their existence. However, a stark contrast emerges in the practical implementation, as only 45% perceive these policies to be effectively executed. Challenges about inadequate resources and support are prominent, with 62% of educators expressing concerns in this regard— additionally, 68% point to a dearth of teacher training and professional development opportunities. On a brighter note, the importance of collaborative teaching and the prevalence of individualized education plans (IEPs) are recognized at 79% and 74%, respectively. The implications of these findings are profound, demanding a holistic approach towards fostering inclusive education. This necessitates effective policy implementation, resource allocation, and teacher training investments. Collaborative teaching and adopting IEPs signify progressive strides towards personalized and higher-quality education. The significance of this research extends beyond academia; it offers a roadmap for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders, charting a course toward a more inclusive, equitable, and just education system.

Abstract

This comprehensive study extensively explores educational disparities within Indonesian secondary schools, emphasizing a comparative analysis between rural and urban regions. Combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies, we delve into the multifaceted nature of these disparities. Quantitative methods provide us with statistical insights, revealing the extent and significance of the educational disparities. This data, collected through structured surveys, encompasses aspects like access to resources, student performance, and school facilities. Complementing this, qualitative approaches, including in-depth interviews, unearth the lived experiences of students, teachers, and administrators, shedding light on these disparities' social, cultural, and economic dimensions. Our research employs a stratified sampling approach, encompassing the diverse geography of Indonesia, to ensure a representative sample. By random selection within strata, rural and urban schools are well-represented, minimizing bias and yielding generalizable results. Understanding the nuanced challenges of education in varying contexts is essential in a nation as diverse as Indonesia. This study highlights the disparities and offers insights that can inform evidence-based policies, aiming to create more equitable and effective educational systems.

Abstract

Language acquisition is very similar to the process students use in acquiring first and second languages. It requires meaningful interaction in the target language natural communication--in which speakers are concerned not with the form of their utterances but with the messages they are conveying and understanding. Error correction and explicit teaching of rules are not relevant to language acquisition (Brown, 1970), native speakers can modify their utterances addressed to acquirers to help them understand. Grammatical functions are assigned directly to the underlying representation in a more or less across the board fashion, only taking into consideration the language dependent semantic function hierarchy. This approach bypasses a number of constraints on subject assignment that may be gathered from data, and observed from the actual behaviour of speakers. We propose a treatment of Subject assignment on the basis of a combination of semantic factors of the relevant referents and other functional aspects of underlying representations. In Subject (and Object) assignment are now located in the daily diologue, in Mackenzie, J (2004).

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of the mind mapping model on science learning. This type of research is a meta-analysis study. The data source came from an analysis of 11 national and international journals. Research inclusion criteria are research must be indexed Science and Technology Index (SINTA), DOAJ, Scopus and Web of Science (WOS), Research published in 2017-2023, research must be experimental methods, Research has a relationship between mind mapping models in science learning, Research must be in the form of international journals or proceedings, Journals must use Indonesian and English, and publications obtained by the Google Scholar database base, Frontiers journal, ERIC, ProQuest and Wiley. Data analysis by calculating the effeck size of the entire study, heterogeneity test, analyzing publication bias and p-value test to test the hypothesis with JSAP application. The results concluded that the average value of summary effect size was 0.67 medium criteria. This finding explains that the mind mapping model has a relatively moderate positive effect on science learning. The moderator's analysis showed more effective mind mapping models at the educational level and sample size.

Abstract

The State Christian Institute of Ambon is a Christian religious higher education institution with lecturers, employees, and students of various faiths. Religious differences are often a point of conflict, but there has never been a conflict within the Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Ambon (IAKN Ambon) environment, despite different religious beliefs. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to know the portrait of religious diversity, the understanding of students, staff, and lecturers about religious harmony, the values of religious harmony, and the efforts made to build religious harmony at IAKN Ambon. This research uses a qualitative method for data collection, such as in interviews, participant observation, and document reviews, which would then be analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. This study's informants included Christian, Muslim, and Catholic lecturers, staff, and students. According to the results, there were three religious communities in IAKN Ambon: Islam, Christianity, and Catholicism. Relations among religious communities are excellent. This harmony can be seen in mutual respect, freedom of worship, and cooperation. This harmony has been built through several efforts, such as 1) providing understanding and awareness of the importance of harmony; 2) providing freedom of worship; 3) providing worship facilities; and 4) creating a common space.
