Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of management in increasing the knowledge of prospective scholars of Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Makassar and to find out the inhibiting and supporting factors. This research was conducted at Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Makassar by using a qualitative descriptive research approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews and documentation with the management of the boarding and education fields or internal boarding schools. This study found that the management of Pesantren Darul Arqam Gombara towards increasing the knowledge of candidates is carried out through the process of planning, organising coaches, supervising and evaluating programs in accordance with the objectives of the pesantren in the form of a program to strengthen the basics of boarding school knowledge for new students for three months which is packaged in the term Iddady Program including programs to develop basic Arabic language skills, practical worship, Tahsin and Tahfidz Al-Qur'an and akhlaq. The second is a routine boarding programme including advanced Arabic language learning, Muhadarah or speech practice, yellow book studies, advanced Qur'an Tahfidz and the Muballig Hijrah programme for final year students. There is a boarding report card that contains the competency achievements of the students which is submitted at the end of the semester. In the field of education, the pesantren school uses an integrated curriculum that combines the curriculum that has been published by the Education Office, the Ministry of Religion and the curriculum published by the Muhammadiyah Association in this case the Muhammadiyah Pesantren Development Institute (LP2M). The obstacles faced by pesantren management are influenced by the non-permanent resources of kemusyrifan or coaches so that sometimes it results in a vacuum of implementation and supervision which has an impact on the smooth running of pesantren programmes. Dormitory construction planning still needs to be improved and the construction is well pursued. Then the obstacles that also occur in the school education environment are the many core educators and education personnel who are appointed as civil servants / PP3K which results in them leaving the pesantren because they get a new place of assignment. Supporting factors are the great attention of the Muhammadiyah Regional leadership as the organiser of pesantren education in increasing the quantity and quality of pesantren resources and the number of santri which in recent years has increased thanks to the public interest from year to year getting higher and higher to enter their children in this pesantren, especially from among Alumni and Muhammadiyah Association Residents.

Abstract

The rapid digitalisation of the labour market has increased the demand for graduates who possess not only technical skills but also the confidence to manage career-related challenges. However, empirical evidence explaining how digital competence contributes to students’ career self-efficacy remains limited. This study aims to examine the effect of digital competence on career self-efficacy among undergraduate students. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed, involving undergraduate management students selected through a multistage sampling technique. Data were collected using structured questionnaires measured on a Likert scale and analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that digital competence has a positive and statistically significant effect on career self-efficacy. Students with higher levels of digital competence demonstrate greater confidence in performing career-related tasks, particularly those involving digital platforms such as online job search and professional communication. These findings suggest that digital competence not only enhances technical capability but also strengthens students’ confidence in navigating career development processes. This study concludes that improving digital competence is essential for enhancing students’ readiness and confidence in entering the digital labour market.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model in improving elementary school students' critical thinking skills through a literature review. The research method used is literature analysis from various scientific articles, journals and other trusted sources related to PBL and critical thinking in elementary school students. The research results show that PBL is effective in developing critical thinking skills through student-centered learning, the use of real-world problems as learning stimuli, and the application of collaborative strategies. Several factors that support the success of PBL include relevant problem design, support and facilitation from teachers, and ongoing evaluation with constructive feedback. This study confirms that PBL not only improves students' cognitive skills, but also motivates and arouses their interest in learning, thereby creating a more dynamic and interactive learning environment. Based on the results of this literature review, it is recommended that the implementation of PBL be further expanded and facilitated through teacher training to increase its effectiveness in supporting the development of critical thinking in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of academic supervision at Institut Mahardika Cirebon in improving lecturers' performance and competence. Academic supervision is an important element in supporting the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, which includes teaching, research, and community service. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of supervision at Institut Mahardika focuses more on administrative aspects, while supervision of teaching, research, and community service aspects is still running on a limited basis. Some obstacles faced in the implementation of supervision are time constraints, minimal training for supervisors, and lack of supporting facilities. However, academic supervision has had a positive impact in increasing lecturers' awareness of institutional standards and encouraging the development of competence in certain aspects. This study concludes that a more integrated and collaborative supervision approach is needed to address the gap between policy and implementation in the field. Supervision that is not only evaluative but also provides ongoing guidance can be an effective strategy in supporting lecturer professionalism. These findings provide recommendations for other universities in developing a more comprehensive supervision system to improve the quality of higher education.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between the internalization of Pancasila values and the social behavior of senior high school students in Cirebon City, Indonesia. Despite Pancasila's constitutional centrality as the philosophical and moral foundation of Indonesian national life, empirical evidence linking ideological value internalization to observable behavioral outcomes among students remains limited. Employing a quantitative cross-sectional survey design with an explanatory approach, the study recruited 412 students from six senior high schools through stratified cluster random sampling. Data were collected using a validated structured questionnaire measuring two primary constructs: internalization of Pancasila values, operationalized as a second-order reflective–formative construct comprising three lower-order dimensions (belief, attitude, and practice), and students' social behavior, encompassing cooperation, tolerance, respect, and responsibility. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 4.0. Measurement model evaluation confirmed satisfactory convergent validity, discriminant validity, and composite reliability across all constructs. Structural model results revealed that the internalization of Pancasila values exerts a significant and positive influence on students' social behavior, explaining approximately 37.7% of its variance, with a large effect size. Second-order construct analysis demonstrated that belief constitutes the strongest formative dimension of value internalization, followed by attitude and practice a hierarchy that exposes a critical internalization gap in which cognitive endorsement of national values consistently outpaces their behavioral enactment. The findings underscore the inadequacy of knowledge-transmission approaches to character education and highlight the urgent need for pedagogical strategies that actively bridge ideological conviction and observable social conduct. This study contributes an empirically validated measurement model of Pancasila value internalization and advances the application of hierarchical SEM approaches in civic and values education research, with implications extending to broader international discourse on global citizenship and character education.
