Abstract

This research examines the strategies used by teachers in managing students' learning interest in the context of the Independent Curriculum through a review of relevant literature. The Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes flexibility and freedom of learning, requires teachers to apply innovative and adaptive approaches in order to motivate and optimize students' potential. Through analysis of various literature sources, this research identified three main effective strategies: (1) Differentiated Learning, which adapts learning activities to each student's abilities and learning style to ensure full engagement; (2) Professional Development, where teachers actively improve skills and knowledge through ongoing training and involvement in professional communities; and (3) Inclusive Learning Environments, which create classrooms that support diversity and facilitate the development of students' social and emotional skills. The conclusion of this research shows that the application of these strategies by teachers can significantly increase students' interest in learning, create a more dynamic learning environment, and support the achievement of better learning outcomes within the Independent Curriculum framework. These findings provide important insights for educational practitioners and policy makers in efforts to improve the quality of learning in an era of more independent and inclusive education.

The development of critical thinking skills among elementary school students plays an important role in preparing the younger generation to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution era. The method used is a literature study on this theme. The results of the study revealed that Merdeka Belajar Curriculum provides ample space to improve students' critical thinking skills through flexible learning, focusing on students, and closely related to context. Effective strategies include project-based learning, collaborative problem solving, and technology integration in the learning process. However, the research also identified challenges such as the need for intense enrichment of teacher competencies and adaptation of assessment methods to appropriately measure critical thinking skills. In conclusion, Merdeka Belajar Curriculum has great potential to improve the critical thinking skills of primary school students, but this achievement is highly dependent on careful implementation along with comprehensive support from all education stakeholders. Recommendations for further studies include long-term studies on the long-term impact of this curriculum on the development of students' critical thinking skills and the exploration of new assessment models that are in line with the objectives of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum

Abstract

Vocational education in Indonesia faces various challenges in preparing competent and adaptive human resources for the 21st century. Despite various initiatives to improve the quality and relevance of vocational education, educational institutions still struggle with a less dynamic curriculum, limited infrastructure, and lack of collaboration with industry. As a result, vocational education graduates are often unprepared for the fast-changing and highly-skilled world of work. This challenge calls for a comprehensive reform of the vocational education system, involving the integration of 21st century skills such as adaptability, collaboration, critical thinking and digital literacy into the curriculum. It is also necessary to encourage strong partnerships between educational institutions and the industrial world to create a curriculum that is relevant and in line with labour market needs. In addition, the application of modern technology in the learning process, comprehensive training for teaching staff, and the development of high-quality vocational centres need to be prioritised. With consistent and coordinated reforms, vocational education in Indonesia is expected to be able to act as the main pillar in supporting the availability of competent and qualified human resources, and be able to compete at the global level. This will require close collaboration between government, industry and educational institutions to address the 21st century skills challenges and contribute to the nation's economic and social development.

Abstract

The economic crisis has had a significant impact on various sectors of life, including education. One of the problems that emerged was the drastic increase in dropout rates among children from underprivileged families. The economic impact leads to the inability of families to fulfil basic needs, including the cost of their children's education. As a result, many students have to leave school to help the family economy or because parents lose their jobs and income. To address this problem, a comprehensive solution involving various parties is needed. Financial support in the form of education subsidies can help ease the burden of school fees. In addition, improving the quality and access to better education facilities will provide fairer learning opportunities for all students. The implementation of technology in education is also an important step to ensure flexible access to learning, especially for those who are physically challenged to attend school. Collaboration between the government, educational institutions, NGOs and communities is crucial in creating an enabling environment for children to continue their education amidst the economic crisis. With concerted efforts, it is hoped that the dropout rate can be reduced and children can continue to get proper educational opportunities
