Abstract

This study aims to describe how the qudwah hasanah method is applied in strengthening moral values in the learning of Akidah Akhlak of fifth-grade students at MIS Attahzib Kekait, while also revealing various obstacles that arise during the implementation process. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Research informants include the principal, fifth-grade Akidah Akhlak teachers, and fifth-grade students of MIS Attahzib Kekait in the 2025/2026 academic year. The data analysis process is carried out systematically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions by referring to the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the qudwah hasanah method takes place through five inter-integrated stages, namely educator self-readiness, direct role modeling, delivery of simulations and advice, habituation accompanied by supervision, and evaluation and reinforcement. Through this process, the moral values that develop in students include individual moral aspects such as honesty, discipline, and responsibility; social morals such as politeness, empathy, and cooperation; and religious morals reflected in the habit of praying, reading the Quran, and consistently performing religious duties. However, the implementation of this method still faces several obstacles, including the influence of the family environment, low awareness of the importance of moral values among some students, limited learning time, the recurrence of deviant behavior, and suboptimal coordination between teachers. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of ongoing collaboration between schools, families, and the entire school community so that the implementation of the Qudwah Hasanah method can run more effectively and provide maximum impact.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Compassion-Based Curriculum in strengthening students’ character in an Islamic boarding school setting and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing its implementation. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation involving school leaders, teachers, students, dormitory supervisors, and parents. The findings indicate that compassion values were integrated into classroom learning, religious habituation, pesantren culture, and students’ daily interactions. The principal and teachers played an active role in fostering empathy, discipline, responsibility, and mutual respect through both instructional activities and school culture. The implementation process was supported by a strong collective commitment among school members, a conducive boarding school environment, and parental involvement. Nevertheless, differences in students’ backgrounds and external social influences remained challenges in maintaining sustainable character development. This study demonstrates that the Compassion-Based Curriculum provides a meaningful approach to integrating emotional, spiritual, and social values within Islamic boarding school education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of digital media in improving students' learning skills in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The method used is a qualitative approach with a library research type, namely by reviewing various library sources such as books, scientific journals, and other relevant publications. The results of the study indicate that digital media has a significant contribution to improving students' learning skills, including critical thinking skills, conceptual understanding, creativity, and independence in learning. The use of digital media such as learning videos, educational applications, and e-learning platforms can provide a more interactive, interesting, and flexible learning process. However, the success of digital media utilization is also influenced by several factors, including teacher readiness, the availability of supporting facilities, and the level of digital literacy of students. Therefore, the right strategy is needed in integrating digital media into learning activities to obtain maximum results.

Abstract

This article is grounded in the polarization between traditionalist and modernist models in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum, which has produced epistemological fragmentation in the development of Nusantara Islamic education theory. This study aims to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the traditionalist model, examine the strengths and weaknesses of the modernist model and explain Islam Wasathiyyah as an epistemological foundation. This research employed a qualitative approach through critical library research, supported by Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis. The data were collected from policy documents, curriculum regulations, and relevant scholarly articles. The findings show that the traditionalist model is strong in authoritative knowledge transmission, moral formation, spirituality, and moderate character building, yet weak in adapting to modernity and contemporary sciences. In contrast, the modernist model is strong in educational access, competitiveness, and knowledge integration, but it risks eroding Islamic identity and producing hidden secularization. Islam Wasathiyyah offers an epistemological synthesis through the principles of tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh, and i’tidal, which can integrate the strengths of both models while overcoming their limitations. The implication of this study emphasizes the need to develop a holistic, transformative, and contextual PAI curriculum rooted in the character of Nusantara Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of multicultural Islamic education through the harmonization of Islamic Sharia and Nyongkolan customs among the Sasak community in Lombok. Nyongkolan is a traditional wedding procession where the bride and groom are paraded from the groom’s residence to the bride’s family home. While it is culturally rich, it often triggers social tension if not aligned with Sharia values. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, data were gathered through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders (Tuan Guru), cultural figures, and tradition practitioners, as well as documentation. The results indicate that the Nyongkolan tradition in Lombok has undergone a process of Islamization and recontextualization. Islamic values, such as brotherhood (ukhuwah), charity, and respect for social entities, are integrated into the cultural ritual. This pattern of harmonization establishes an informal model of multicultural Islamic education within the community, fostering tolerance, inclusiveness, and conflict resolution based on local wisdom. The study concludes that the cultural accommodation within Nyongkolan serves as empirical evidence that Islamic Sharia and local customs can coexist dynamically without diminishing their respective identities.
