Abstract

This study aims to analyze resource management strategies in improving the quality of Islamic education curriculum development at MTs Al-Azhar Samarinda. The study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the head of the madrasah, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and general subject teachers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested using source and technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that resource management strategies in the development of the Islamic education curriculum are implemented through participatory curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation by involving teachers in the decision-making process. The head of the madrasah applies participatory leadership that supports collaboration among teachers and improves the quality of learning. Curriculum development is also carried out through the integration of Islamic values into learning activities and school culture, such as Qur’an recitation (tadarus), congregational dhuha prayer, and the habituation of Islamic character values. However, curriculum development still faces several challenges, including the suboptimal use of learning technology, limited teacher competence in using digital media, and the high administrative workload in teaching activities. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance teacher training and competency development so that the quality of Islamic education curriculum development can be implemented more effectively and innovatively.

Abstract

Educators are the key actors in determining the success of the educational process. However, in practice, learning is still often oriented toward the transfer of knowledge and has not fully integrated the development of students’ character, morality, and social competencies. This article aims to comprehensively analyze the foundations of educators’ duties and responsibilities and their implications for improving professional learning. This study employed a qualitative approach using a library research method by analyzing literature from national education and Islamic education perspectives. Data were analyzed through content analysis and thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that the duties and responsibilities of educators are grounded in five main dimensions: philosophical, juridical, psychological, sociological, and religious foundations. These foundations form a framework for educators’ professionalism in carrying out their roles as planners, implementers, mentors, motivators, role models, and evaluators of learning. The implementation of these foundations contributes to the creation of more humanistic, effective, and character-oriented learning. This article emphasizes that educators’ professionalism is determined not only by pedagogical competence but also by moral integrity, legal awareness, psychological understanding of students, and social and spiritual responsibility. Therefore, strengthening educators’ understanding of these foundational responsibilities is an urgent need to improve the quality of education sustainably

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in enhancing Qur’anic literacy in digital-age primary education. Despite widespread digital access, students’ Qur’anic reading proficiency remains limited, indicating a gap between technological availability and instructional practices. This research employs a qualitative case study design, involving a principal, teachers, and parents through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that HRM functions as a central mechanism linking digital resources and learning outcomes through planning, implementation, and evaluation. However, the absence of structured training, institutional policies, and digital assessment systems limits sustainability. The present research proposes an integrative HRM–digital learning framework, positioning HRM as a mediating system connecting teacher competence, digital infrastructure, and learning outcomes. The findings contribute theoretically to Islamic education management and offer practical implications for policy and school leadership.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pengembangan mutu lembaga pendidikan Islam melalui integrasi strategic educational planning dan Islamic leadership dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tantangan pendidikan Islam Indonesia yang menghadapi perubahan kurikulum, transformasi digital, ketimpangan mutu lembaga, serta tuntutan tata kelola yang lebih akuntabel dan adaptif. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menganalisis berbagai jurnal ilmiah, buku akademik, dan laporan pendidikan yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan strategis berperan penting dalam membantu lembaga pendidikan Islam menentukan arah pengembangan, prioritas program, pengelolaan sumber daya, dan evaluasi mutu secara berkelanjutan. Sementara itu, Islamic leadership berfungsi sebagai fondasi moral melalui nilai amanah, syura, keadilan, dan pelayanan dalam proses pengambilan keputusan organisasi. Kajian ini juga menemukan bahwa penguatan mutu pendidikan Islam memerlukan dukungan budaya mutu, kepemimpinan kolaboratif, serta tata kelola digital berbasis data. Artikel ini mengidentifikasi lima research gap terkait integrasi perencanaan strategis, kepemimpinan Islam, dan transformasi digital dalam pendidikan Islam. Oleh karena itu, artikel ini menawarkan kerangka konseptual pengembangan mutu lembaga pendidikan Islam yang strategis, etis, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan di era digital.

Abstract

This study objectives to analyze the internalization of religious moderation values within the integrative curriculum at Satuan Pendidikan Muadalah (SPM) Al-Khairy Praya, Central Lombok. A qualitative-descriptive research design was employed as the method. The research instruments consisted of structured interview guides, observation checklists, and documentation review sheets. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews with the school administrators and teachers, non-participant observation of classroom activities, and academic document analysis. The data analysis techniques followed the interactive model comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicated that the internalization process is systematically executed through epistemological integration in course materials, the contextualization of classical Islamic texts (turats) regarding modern social reality, and cultural habituation within the pesantren environment. In conclusion, the integrative curriculum successfully embeds moderation values organically, fostering open-minded, tolerant, and nationalistic student perspectives. This model provides an empirical benchmark for high-quality academic standardization in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Student moral development is a fundamental dimension of Islamic education, particularly in pesantren-integrated school environments. This study investigates the model of student moral cultivation through religious extracurricular activities at SMP Birrul Walidain, a pesantren-based school in Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving the school principal, religious activity supervisors, Islamic scholars (ustaz/ustazah), and students. Findings reveal that moral cultivation is implemented through five structured religious activities: Al-Qur'an tahfiz (memorization), congregational prayer (shalat berjamaah), public speaking training (muhadharah), classical Islamic text study (kajian kitab), and Islamic social activities. These activities are underpinned by four methodological pillars: modeling (keteladanan), habituation (pembiasaan), moral guidance and motivation (nasihat), and disciplinary supervision (muraqabah). The pesantren environment significantly reinforces moral internalization. Key challenges include social media influence, diverse student backgrounds, and varying levels of religious motivation. The study concludes that integrated religious extracurricular programs within pesantren-based schools constitute an effective strategic framework for holistic moral character formation, with implications for Islamic educational policy and curriculum design in Indonesia.

Abstract

Islamic education in elementary schools plays a strategic role in shaping the character, morals, and social identity of students, but still faces limited facilities, low integration of contextual values, and the dominance of cognitive learning. This study aims to analyze the optimization of regional social and cultural capital as an alternative resource in the development of Islamic education at SDN 018 Palaran, including the role of the principal, its implementation, and its impact on strengthening Islamic education based on local wisdom. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that the principal plays a role as a transformational leader, motivator, and mediator in optimizing regional social and cultural capital by strengthening school-community cooperation. The application of social capital is seen in increased community participation in religious activities, while local culture is integrated into the learning and habituation of religious values ​​at school. The impacts include strengthening students' religious character, increasing community participation, creating a conducive school environment, and strengthening students' cultural and Islamic identities. Thus, regional social and cultural capital has proven to be an effective alternative resource in developing contextual, participatory, and sustainable Islamic education at SDN 018 Palaran.

Abstract

Digital transformation in elementary education aims to improve the quality of learning, the effectiveness of school management, and student readiness to face the challenges of the 21st century. However, the implementation of digital transformation in elementary schools still faces various challenges, particularly related to infrastructure, teachers' digital literacy, and human resource readiness. The purpose of this study is to analyze the principal's strategy in planning digital transformation at SD Negeri 006 Palaran. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with data collection conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the principal plays a crucial role as an agent of change through the formation of a Digital Task Force Team, the development of a digital transformation roadmap, the implementation of ongoing teacher training, and the development of a collaborative work culture that utilizes technology. The availability of digital facilities such as the internet, computers, and online learning platforms also supports the success of digital transformation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya pergeseran orientasi pendidikan modern yang cenderung menekankan aspek kognitif dan akademik, sementara dimensi spiritual, moral, sosial, dan jasmani kurang mendapat perhatian proporsional, sehingga memunculkan ketidakseimbangan dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hakikat manusia dalam perspektif Al-Qur’an serta mengkaji implikasinya terhadap pendidikan Islam. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi dokumentasi terhadap Al-Qur’an, kitab tafsir, buku filsafat pendidikan Islam, serta artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, analisis isi (content analysis), dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manusia dalam Al-Qur’an dipahami secara multidimensional melalui empat konsep utama, yaitu ‘abd Allah, al-nās, al-insān, dan al-basyar yang merepresentasikan dimensi spiritual, sosial, intelektual, dan biologis. Keempat konsep tersebut menegaskan bahwa manusia harus dipahami secara holistik dan tidak parsial. Implikasinya, pendidikan Islam harus dirancang secara integratif dengan menyeimbangkan aspek aqliyah dan qalbiyah, mengembangkan hard skill dan soft skill, serta mengarahkan peserta didik menuju terbentuknya insan kamil yang beriman, berilmu, dan berakhlak mulia. Abstract

This study examines the internalization of moral values through the teaching of the book Adabul ‘Alim wal Muta‘allim among second-year MAPK female students at Al-Risalah Batetangnga Female Islamic Boarding School. The study is grounded in the importance of moral education in shaping students’ character amid the decline of moral values among learners. It aims to describe the process of internalizing moral values and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the learning process. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the internalization process occurs through value transformation, value transaction, and transinternalization in learning activities, and is strengthened through habituation, exemplary conduct, social interaction, and the religious culture of the pesantren.
