Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the skills students must possess in the 2013 curriculum, especially in 21st-century learning. Indonesia's low ranking in PISA results in the critical thinking category, ranked 64 out of 65 countries is important from this study. The low thinking skills of students are caused by students' critical thinking skills in science learning are still not optimal. Based on observations made by researchers in the learning process, teaching materials use more books so that learning does not run interactively. This leads to students' critical thinking skills being poorly trained. This research aims to develop teaching materials in the form of project-based learning emodules that improve the critical thinking skills of grade 5 elementary school students effectively. The development method in this study uses a 4-D model from Thiagarajan (1974), namely Define, Design, Development, and Dessimination. The instruments used in this study were interviews, questionnaires, and observations. The results of this study showed that the project-based learning e-module was valid with material validation results of 75.6%, media validation results of 84.5%, and language validation results of 81.25%. In addition, student responses from individual trials were 97%, in small group trials by 90%, and in large group trials by 87%. Quantitative analysis with independent sample t-test using SPSS 26 for Windows showed that there was an average difference in final observation results between the experimental class and the control class of 2.625 with a sig (2tailed) p-value of 0.000. These results were obtained from the responses of experimental and control class students. Thus it can be concluded that the use of e-modules in learning has improved students' critical thinking.

Abstract

Perkembangan abad 21 yang pesat membawa perubahan signifikan pada pembelajaran IPA, dimana peserta didik diarahkan dapat mengaplikasikan teori dalam kehidupan sehari-hari melalui berpikir ilmiah. Namun, realita di lapangan kemampuan berpikir ilmiah peserta didik berada dalam kategori rendah. Maka perlu adanya model pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir ilmiah, diantaranya model Problem Based Leaning dan Contextual Teaching and Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir ilmiah peserta didik yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dan Contextual Teaching and Learning. Pendekatan kuantitatif dipilih untuk menyelesaikan penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik analisis komparatif melalui quasi experiment. Populasi berasal dari kelas VIII, sedangkan sampel yang dipilih kelas VIII B dan VIII C melalui teknik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan instrumen tes uraian yang dilakukan setiap pertemuan. Data yang telah didapatkan dianalisa dengan uji t two tailed dan one tailed. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir ilmiah peserta didik yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dengan rerata 80,84 dan Contextual Teaching and Learning dengan rerata 86,90. Sementara itu, melalui hasil uji t one tailed dapat diketahui bahwa model Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir ilmiah peserta didik daripada model Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

Science education is now adapting to 21st-century skills. One rarely implemented stage is the ability of students to communicate in writing because the lack of attention given by teachers. This study addresses the issue of how the implementation, whether there are differences, and the improvement of cooperative learning model type NHT assisted by virtual laboratories affect written communication on the topic of simple machines for eighth-grade junior high school students. This research aimed to investigate the implementation of the NHT learning model supported by virtual laboratory tools in improving written communication skills. The research method used is descriptive quantitative research, employing a quasi-experimental design, specifically the matching only posttest group design. The study was conducted at Class VIII of State Junior High School 5 Tandun. The sample consists of two eighth-grade classes: Class VIII-1 with 23 students as the experimental group and Class VIII-2 with 23 students as the control group.. The results of the study revealed that the overall average score for all aspects in the NHT class with virtual laboratory support was 88%, indicating a "very good" performance category. On the other hand, the average score for all aspects in the scientific class was 82%, falling into the "good" category. The t-test results indicated a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.037, indicating a significant difference in the written communication abilities of students between the class using the NHT learning model with virtual laboratory support and the scientific class, specifically in the context of simple machines.

Abstract

The understanding of molecular form materials requires a high level of visual spatial skills, but most high school students still show low visual intelligence since the content is abstract and there isn't any interactive digital media. The goal of this project is to enhance students' visual intelligence regarding the submaterial of molecular shapes by creating 3D-assisted e-worksheets that are integrated with the Think Pair Share (TPS) paradigm. The 4D model (define, design, develop) is used in this development research. involving 35 students in grades XI-3 of SMA Hang Tuah 1 Surabaya and three expert validators. Data was collected through validation sheets, response questionnaires, activity observation sheets, and visual intelligence pretest-posttests including four indicators: imagination, conception, problem solving, and pattern search. The results showed that the e-worksheets were declared valid with all ≥ 4 medians, practical with 96.43% student responses and 99.4% activity implementation, and effective according to the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test (Z = −5.165, p = 0.000) with an average increase of 56.90 points and all students experienced an increase in scores. The highest increase occurred in the pattern search indicator (64.24 percentage points). 3D-assisted electronic worksheets integrated with TPS have proven to be effective in bridging abstract molecular representations with students' visual intelligence, so they can be an alternative learning medium for abstract chemistry materials at the high school level.

Abstract

Bahan ajar yang digunakan oleh sekolah untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan diantaranya untuk mengembangkan LKS, kelayakan, efektivitas, respon siswa terhadap pengembangan bahan ajar berupa LKS pembelajaran IPA berbasis STEM untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa. Metode R&D dengan menggunakan model ASSURE yaitu memfokuskan agar terciptanya suatu proses pembelajaran yang efisien dengan menggunakan teknologi maupun media. Lembar oservasi, angket, dan wawancara merupan instrumet dalam penelitian ini. LKS sebagai bahan ajar yang dapat digunakan oleh satuan pendidikan. Persentase nilai kelayakan dari validator materi 97,5%, validator bahasa 95%, sedangkan validator desain 75%. Adapun respon siswa dari uji kelompok besar 96,3%, kelompok kecil 91,65% dan perorangan mendapatkan hasil 95%. Sig (2-tailed)pada hasil independent sample t-test yaitu 0.033 dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa produk LKS pada pembelajaran IPA ini dengan berbasis STEM layak sehingga siswa memiliki kreativitas yang tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the concept of physics in the form of weather such as rain, wind, and temperature during the flight of the lanterns in the Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) series of events. This research used qualitative research method with literature study method because the data used comes from books, journals, and other documents. The findings in this study are in the form of physics concepts in the flight of lanterns in the series of DCF events. The conclusion is that in the series of DCF events, namely the lantern festival, it can be related to physics, namely the rain and wind conditions in September are not so great that when the lanterns are blown up, they can rise but do not cause the lanterns to disappear into the surrounding villages because of the wind. In addition to the wind, rainfall also affects the Lantern Festival. When heavy rainfall will cause the lanterns to not fly because the heat cannot meet the volume of the lanterns. August to September 2022 is a pretty good month because the wind isn't too fast, the rainfall isn't too dense and the ambient temperature isn't too cold.

Abstract

Bahan ajar dapat menjadi faktor pendukung untuk mencapai pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien, sehingga bahan ajar memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar fisika berbasis e-komik pada tarian Ojhung di Kabupaten Bondowoso. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi lima tahapan, yakni tahap analisis kebutuhan (Analyze), tahap desain produk (Design), tahap pengembangan (Development), tahap implementasi (Implement), dan tahap evaluasi (Evaluate). Sasaran uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI jurusan MIPA SMAN 1 Tenggarang dengan instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar angket dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil analisis konsep fisika dalam tarian Ojhung menunjukkan bahwa terdapat konsep fisika kesetimbangan dalam tiga gerakan Ojhung, yakni pada gerakan mencak dan malang ngaleke’ yang memenuhi syarat pertama kesetimbangan ( ) dan gerakan tètè bhâtang yang memenuhi syarat kedua kesetimbangan ( ). Konsep fisika yang diperoleh kemudian disusun menjadi bahan ajar berbasis e-komik yang sangat layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran fisika dengan nilai validasi oleh ahli sebesar 92,2% dan respon peserta didik sebesar 83,09%.

Abstract

Faktanya, kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi pesrta didik masih tergolong rendah karena model pembelajaran yang diterapkan di sekolah masih terfokus kepada penjelasan guru. Oleh karena itu peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran yang berfokus kepada peserta didik yaitu model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan dan perbedaan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi antara kelas yang menerapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dan kelas yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen non-equivalent posttest control group design. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah post-test dengan 13 soal pilihan ganda. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik X MIPA 5 lebih baik dibandingkan dengan X MIPA 6. Hal ini dilihat dari nilai rata-rata kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik di kelas X MIPA 5 adalah 60,26 dan kelas kontrol adalah 49,15. Hasil analisis inferensial menunjukkan nilai signifikansi uji t sampel independen sebesar 0,0004 yang berarti kurang dari 0,05. Oleh karena itu dari hasil kedua analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil tes kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa kelas X MIPA 5 dan kelas X MIPA 6 dan X MIPA 5 mendapatkan hasil yang lebih baik setelah dilakukannya pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi gerak parabola.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku petunjuk praktikum mata kuliah kimia anorganik yang valid dan praktis. Pengembangan buku petunjuk praktikum ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan Kimia Universitas Sriwijaya. Metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah walk-through untuk mendapatkan validitas buku petunjuk praktikum, dan metode angket untuk mendapatkan data kepraktisan buku petunjuk praktikum. Hasil penelitian pada tahap define menunjukkan bahwa dibutuhkan bahan ajar yang berbasis project based learning untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Pada tahap design didapatkan terdapat 9 topik yang dimuat didalam buku petunjuk praktikum, dimana pada masing-masing topik terdiri dari bagian pendahuluan dan dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan 1) Merencanakan Proyek, 2) Fase penelitian awal untuk memperoleh informasi, 3) Pengembangan dan Evaluasi awal Prototipe Produk, 4) Fase penelitian kedua (pelaksanaan praktikum), 5) Pengembangan Presentasi Akhir (Laporan), dan 6) Publikasi (Presentasi). Hasil tahap development menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek materi rata-rata penilaian ahli yaitu 96,87% dinyatakan sangat valid, dan pada aspek pedagogik dan desain mendapat rata-rata sebesar 100% dinyatakan sangat valid. Hasil proyek mahasiswa menggunakan buku petunjuk praktikum berbasis projek based learning berada menunjukkan hasil sangat baik. Dan hasil kepratisan menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pada aspek desain, materi dan pedagogik yaitu 100% dinyatakan sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, buku petunjuk praktikum berbasis Project Based Learning dinyatakan layak dan praktis untuk digunakan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to find out the effect and how much influence thelearning model had on predicting and learning the effect of face-to-facelearning on understanding science concepts. This research method usesquantitative experiments a type of the study Quasi Experimental Design andthe form design used is a nonequivalent control group design. The resultsindicated that hypotheses should be tested and problem statements answered,the analysis data techniques use were the Independent Sample T Test and theN-Gain test. You can tell by looking at the average when given treatment usedthe learning model POE in the Post-test to get an average value of 76.49 forthe experimental class and 61.36 for the control class. From the results of theIndependent Samples T Test post-test scores for the experimental and controlclass, namely 2.721 > 1.67 then, H0 is reject and H1 is accept, indicated thatthere is an influence and results of NGain experimental class give POE modelindicated that is a big influence so that it can be use as a learning model. Theconclusion in this study is it learning model POE in face-to-face learning ispositive and significant effect understand concepts science for fourth gradeelementary school student, so that it can be used as a solution in learningscience at elementary school.
