Abstract

BackgroundsThe fatality cases in the latest BPJS Employment data for 2021 amounted to 6,054 out of 234,370 work accident cases. The Serang and Cilegon areas are known as industrial areas in Banten province. The effect of fatalities in work accidents has a negative impact on various sectors, including workers, companies and the country, where the number of claims from work accident cases reaches 1.79 trillion a year. This research was conducted to look at the picture of fatality cases examined at the Serang and Cilegon regional hospitals and also identify factors related to fatalities in work accident cases.MethodsThis research uses quantitative methods with a retrospective cross sectional approach. Research subjects were taken through medical record data and corpse obstruction reports in work accident cases sent to the Emergency Room (IGD) and the Forensic & Medicolegal Installation at RSUD.Dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara and Cilegon City Regional Hospital. The method for taking subjects used a total sampling technique, a total of 323 subjects were obtained from this research. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test and FISHER's Exact Test in the SPSS data processing application.ResultsThe number of subjects in the study was 323 workers with information that 297 were live work accident cases and 26 were fatal work accident cases. From univariate analysis, data was obtained that the location of the most injuries in work accident cases was in the head, the majority of workers who experienced work accidents were <45 years old (83.28%) and a greater number of male workers experienced work accidents compared to female workers (82.66%). Meanwhile, work accidents were found to occur more frequently during the day (75.54%). From the results of the bivariate analysis, it was found that there was a statistically significant relationship between gender and fatality (p < 0.012), where in this study all fatality cases were experienced by men.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication characterized by hypertension and proteinuria after 20 weeks of gestation, with high maternal morbidity and mortality rates in Indonesia. Various risk factors have been identified, with high Body Mass Index (BMI) being one of the dominant modifiable risk factors. This study aims to analyze the relationship between maternal BMI and the incidence of preeclampsia and identify other risk factors at RSUD Banten. This study is an observational analytical study with a case-control design involving 282 respondents (141 preeclampsia cases and 141 controls) taken from medical record data at RSUD Banten from January-October 2025. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square test and Odds Ratio (OR) calculation with 95% confidence interval. The results showed that pregnant women with overweight-obese BMI (≥25 kg/m²) had a 3.92 times higher risk of developing preeclampsia compared to mothers with normal BMI (OR=3.917; 95% CI: 2.317-6.623; p

Abstract

Dry Eye Syndrome (DES) is a multifactorial disorder of the tear film and ocular surface characterized by discomfort, visual disturbances, and tear film instability that has the potential to damage the ocular surface. Environmental factors play a role in increasing the risk of DES, including exposure to air from air conditioners (AC), prolonged use of gadgets, and intense reading activities. This condition may result in reduced tear production or increased tear evaporation, contributing to the progression of dry eye symptoms. People regularly exposed to these factors are at higher risk of developing DES, especially when working in dry environments or focusing on screens for extended periods without sufficient rest. This review aims to examine the literature regarding the relationship between AC exposure, gadget use, and reading activities with the incidence of Dry Eye Syndrome and its implications for eye health. A better understanding of these risk factors is expected to serve as a basis for effective prevention and management of DES.

Abstract

Increased blood pressure is caused by various risk factors, such as noise. Noise is a physical occupational hazard that acts as a stressor, disrupting hearing, sleep, communication, and daily activities, thereby potentially increasing sympathetic nervous system activity. This study aims to investigate the relationship between noise levels and the increase in blood pressure before and after work at PT. Shinko Plantech, a construction and manufacturing company specializing in pipe and forged steel production. This study used cross sectional study. The study subject were workers of PT. Shinko Plantech, selected by stratified random sampling according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed with chi-square test, using univariate and bivaraite methods, through SPSS application. This study showed 63.3% of workers that were exposed to noise levels ≥ 85 dB, and 66% experienced an increased blood pressure before and after work. Based on analysis, there was a significant association between noise intensity and increased blood pressure (p = 0.048). Other factors, such as age, length of employment, working hours, smoking habits, use of APD (earplug), and body mass index (BMI) were not significant to increased blood pressure before and after work. Noise intensity ≥ 85 dB and increased blood pressure was significantly associated. Keywords : Noise intensity, increased blood pressure, industry, manufacture, repeated impulsive noise

Abstract

Maternal mortality remains a significant public health problem in Serang City, with the Walantaka Community Health Center working area recording the highest number of maternal death cases in 2024. Antenatal care (ANC) visits are a key preventive strategy, and husband's support has been identified as an external factor that may influence maternal compliance with ANC visits. This study aimed to determine the relationship between husband's support and the regularity of ANC visits among mothers in the Walantaka Community Health Center working area. This was an observational analytical study using a cross-sectional design, involving 82 respondents consisting of married couples with infants under two years of age, selected through consecutive sampling. Data were collected using a husband's involvement questionnaire adapted from Leccio and Cleofas, and analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of husbands (78%) provided support, yet only 34.1% of mothers reported regular ANC visits. The Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.077 (p > 0.05), indicating no statistically significant relationship between husband's support and ANC visit regularity, although a positive clinical tendency was observed. There was no statistically significant relationship between husband's support and ANC visits at Walantaka Community Health Center, indicating the need for increased health education for husbands to enhance awareness of maternal and fetal health during pregnancy.
