Abstract

A learning attitude is a person's willingness and readiness to learn and develop in the learning process. Learning attitude is essential in the learning process, because a positive learning attitude will help students to more easily understand and master the material on study, be more enthusiastic and motivated to learn, and be more able to apply what they have learned in everyday life. This study aims to determine student learning attitudes in learning CAD system pattern-making in class XII at SMKN 1 Wonosari. This research is quantitative and descriptive. The population in this study was 66 students of class XII. The research sample was determined randomly using Harry King's Nomogram calculation formula with 43 students. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire. Test the tool's validity using the Pearson product-moment and reliability test using the Cronbach alpha formula—data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the learning attitude of students in class XII Fashion Design at SMKN 1 Wonosari in learning the CAD system skirt pattern was good. Based on the results of data analysis where 2% are in the "excellent" category, and 98% are in the "good" category. Therefore, students learning attitudes in learning to make basic patterns of skirts according to the cognitive attitude component can be categorized as good, the affective component is a good category, and the conative component is a good category. Keywords: Learning Attitude, Fashion Pattern, CAD System

Abstract

The Fashion Design expertise program applies a teaching factory learning system to productive subjects, including Industrial Clothing. Judging from the planning and implementation, the teaching factory learning model in this subject has not run optimally. This study aims to: to determine the effectiveness of the teaching factory model for students of fashion as a learning model at State Vocational High School 1 Beringin. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with research and development methods. This research was conducted at State Vocational High School 1 Beringin, with the research subjects being teachers and students of the Fashion Design Expertise Program. The object of this research is teaching factory activities in productive subjects. Research on the development of the Teaching Factory learning model went through three stages, namely: 1) Needs analysis, 2) Product development, and 3) Expert Validation. The results of this study indicate that the Teaching Factory model has been effectively used in productive subjects such as industrial clothing with an assessment of 98.6% by material experts and 88% by design experts. After going through the validation stage by material experts and design experts, it can be concluded that the Teaching Factory learning model product developed has been effectively used as a learning model in productive subjects for students of the Dressmaking Expertise Program at Beringin 1 State Vocational High School

Abstract

Vocational education must be able to establish a good working relationship with the world of business, industry, and work. Sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperative relationships between the industrial world and educational institutions must be connected simultaneously. To achieve this, industry-based competency and expertise assessment is needed by involving industry practitioners as an examination team. This study aims to deepen the management model of industry-based competency and expertise assessment in Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Center of Excellence Vocational Schools. The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach with field research methods conducted at SMK YPM 3 Taman and a literature review on research related to assessment in Vocational Education and Training (VET). The type of research uses the type of case study and text analysis. Data collection techniques used participant observation, unstructured interviews classified as in-depth interviews, and documentation review. Data analysis techniques used modified analytic induction techniques and Miles' interactive model data analysis techniques. While checking the validity of the data through credibility, dependability, confirmability, and transferability. The results of this study show that the apprenticeship scheme and the requirements for the implementation of competency and expertise assessment in vocational schools of expertise centers (SMK-PK) are divided into two assessments, namely: internal competency and expertise assessment with productive teacher assessors as examiners and external competency and expertise assessment with industry practitioners as examiners. Meanwhile, the management of industry-based competency and skills assessment in vocational education and training (VET) is based on competency-based training (CBT).

Abstract

Industry 4.0, originally centered on manufacturing, has significantly evolved, influencing production and how individuals learn and develop skills. As vocational education is pivotal for skill development, it must swiftly adapt to the changing landscape of Industry 4.0, wherein English proficiency holds a crucial position. To enhance English learning effectively in preparation for the Industry 4.0 era, it is essential to understand the beliefs of vocational students, especially in higher education. This research utilized a survey method, employing a novel questionnaire to gauge these beliefs that can be useful information to shape the foundation of English learning. The study involved 258 students of the vocational program in higher education. The research findings demonstrated that the participants held positive beliefs concerning English learning. These favorable beliefs encompassed various aspects, including language learning methods, language skills with a focus on strategy awareness, the perception of English as integral to their careers, the utilization of authentic materials and technology as learning resources, the willingness to be self-directed learners, and the recognition of the life values acquired through English learning. Furthermore, the students held a functional view of language, underlining its practicality.

Abstract

Peer Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that involves groups of students working together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product. Simply putting students in groups and telling them to work together does not mean they know how to work cooperatively. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of peer lesson learning strategies on learning outcomes in building construction subjects and land measurement techniques, concrete characteristics specification material, in class X students majoring in modeling design and building information of SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. The study used quantitative research with experimental research type. The population amounted to 60 students; the research sample was taken by simple random sampling by taking two classes. Class X DPIB-A as the experimental class and class X DPIB-B as the control class. The instrument used to determine student learning outcomes is a multiple-choice test of 36 questions that have been tested for validity and reliability with point biseral correlation techniques. Data analysis used the t-test formula. The results showed that the average post-test score obtained from the experimental class was 75.35 with a high category of 73.33% and the control class was 61.46 with a sufficient category of 76.67%. From the results of the hypothesis testing analysis with a significance level of 5%, the post-test values of the two classes were calculated t_ count t_ table (6.27227 1.671) then Ha was accepted, so that a significant effect was obtained which showed that the learning outcomes of building construction and land measurement techniques were more effectively taught with peer lesson learning strategies than conventional learning models.

Abstract

During the Covid 19 pandemic, the teaching and learning process, especially in practical courses which were initially face-to-face, turned online. This change had several impacts on lectures, especially in terms of learning outcomes and the quality of graduates in terms of skills. Therefore, it is very necessary to carry out an evaluation of this learning process using the CIPP model developed by Stufflebeam. This evaluation model aims to find out how effective the use of virtual laboratories is in learning practical courses online. This research is evaluative research using a qualitative descriptive approach. Where the data used in this study is qualitative data with analytical methods. The technique used in this study is to examine existing data using grounded research methods. From the results of this study, there is the largest percentage, namely the use of virtual laboratories has been quite effective in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the improvement and development of media and learning models that are more innovative and creative. In addition, efforts in skills that directly deal with equipment still need to be fulfilled in real laboratories to increase enrichment and deeper understanding and skills in work procedures in the world of work later.
