This study aims to determine the correlation of metacognitive knowledge and problem solving abilities of students who are taught with the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) and Verification learning model on buffer solution material. This study uses a test instrument at the end of learning. The research sample was conducted in two research classes at SMAN 1 Karangrejo Tulungagung. The test instrument used consisted of 2 types of tests with the topic of buffer solution material in the category of metacognitive knowledge and problem solving abilities with instrument reliability values with Cronbach alpha of 0.779 and 0.728 with high categories. Pearson product-moment correlation test resul1ts in research data indicate a strong correlation between metacognitive knowledge and problem solving ability with (rcount = +0954) with the most influential metacognitive component, conditional knowledge (rcount = +0.802).

This study was aimed at identifying the ability and direct current circuit through problem based learning with formative assessment. The research design used in this study was mixed method with embedded experimental design. The research subjects were the odd semester students of XII MIPA at MAN Kota Pasuruan in the academic year of 2019/2020 with direct current circuit material. The subjects were selected using purposing sampling technique. The data were analyzed using quantitative method with Descriptive Statistical Test, Normality Test and Effect Size Test, and using qualitative method. The results of paired t-test showed a significance indicating that Problem Based Learning with Formative Assessment gave better. The results of the N-gain score was in the medium category. The Effect size gave a strong influence. The data shows that Problem Based Learning with Formative Assessment gave a positive impact on the problem solving mastery of Direct Current Circuit.

This study aims to determine the differences in the 5-Phase Learning Cycle model and the conventional learning model of students' science process skills on thermochemical materials. This type of research is quasi-experimental. Sampling using random sampling techniques and obtained two sample classes, namely Class XI MIPA 6B3 as an experimental class and XI MIPA 6C3 as a control class at SMAN 10 Malang in the academic year 2017/2018. Collecting data using the science process skill observation instrument sheet. The results showed that there were differences in science process skills between students who were taught with the 5 Phase Learning Cycle model and conventional learning models on thermochemical materials.

This study aims to determine what misconceptions experienced by students on the topic of reaction rates through diagnostic tests accompanied by interviews and determine the effectiveness of POGIL learning with cognitive conflict strategies in improving misconceptions. The research design used was one group pretest posttest research. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class XI one of the high schools in Sidoarjo who had obtained the reaction rate material. Student misconception data was obtained through a diagnostic test and confirmed by interview. The effectiveness of remidial learning is measured by comparing the percentage of students who experience misconceptions before and after treatment is given. The results showed that the misconceptions found at each subject were the basic concept of the reaction rate of 50%, the reaction rate was 59%, the reaction order was 44%, the collision theory was 38%, while the factors that influenced the findings were the misconceptions found on the main discussion of temperature factors by 41%, a concentration factor of 25%, a surface area factor of 75%, and a catalyst factor by 41%. POGIL learning with cognitive conflict strategies is classified as having a high level of effectiveness in reducing misconceptions.
