Abstract

Abstract: The puspose of this research is to describe respons of schools to Adiwiyata program. This research is case study of elementary schools at Batu City. The research method is conducted by descriptive method. Indicators that reviewed is: management of school, implementation of enviromental educaton, and support facilities. Based on this research show that from three schools, SD Mojorejo 1, SD Sang Timur, and SD Tulungrejo 4, the best of prestation is SD Sang Timur.

Abstract

Abstract: Based on our observation to students and discussion with the principal and the science teacher of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Wahid Hasyim III (MIWH III) on June, 2, 2006, known that there were complicated problems in science class V. The core of those problems was the most of the student ability to think was still lower, therefore, in this research we want to try to solve the problems by classroom action research (CAR). Some studies shown that applying inquiry-based and reciprocal teaching methods have many advantages to solve the problems like at MIWH III Malang, therefore these methods was applied in this school. The research was conducted during 10 months, start at April until November 2007. This research design was Kemmis and of Taggart model, which consist of four phases. The result of this research showed that implementation of inquiry-based and reciprocal teaching methods improved the student ability to think and learning activities at science class V MIWH III Malang.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to determine the effects of quantum teaching method on the student’s writing ability by considering the learner’s cognitive style. The study was conducted at the PGSD Study Program of FIP Jakarta State University. The study employed the experimental method with 2 x 2 factorial designs. The sample of the study was one-hundred and four-semester IV students, selected from both study programs by employing the multi-stage random sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using a two way ANOVA. Further analysis carried out by employing the Tuckey test shows that the field dependent cognitive style students that were taught by using quantum teaching method gained higher learning results in writing than the learning results of the students who followed the expository teaching method. Furthermore, The writing ability of the students with field independent cognitive style  that were taught by the quantum teaching method was insignificantly different from that of the students that followed the expository teaching  method. Both teaching method and cognitive style affect students’ writing ability and that there is an interaction effect of the teaching methods and the student’s cognitive style on the students’ writing ability.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to improve journal writing skills through a writing process approach. The design of the research was action research. The subjects were fifth grade of SDN Sumbersari 3 Malang city. The collected data were analysed by three steps: data reduction, and data description, and conlusion development.The research showed there were some improvements in students related to their journal writing skills.

Abstract

Abstract: This objective of this developmental research in the first year was to describe vision, practice, value internalization, and student’s character. The research also described problems of practices of value learning and character in the elementary schools. The subjects were Daarut-tauhied Bandung education and Malang. The results found that (1) vision of Daarut-tauhied Bandung was closeness to God; (2) educational practices balanced between thinking and  affective through contrustivistik learning method; (3) there were some positive value and  characters internalized in Daarut-tauhied Bandung students, such as pro-social behaviour and positive thinking; (4) value and character learning in the elementaru education tended in the low management. Elementary education can adopt some of value and character learning principles of Daarut-tauhied Bandung education based on the contextual condition.

Abstract

Abstract: This objective of the study was to share experience on how to make science interesting for elementary school students through preparing elementary school teachers by using TDPSPM strategy at distance education mode. Instructional media used were video recorded modeling which consists of an example the way teachers teach science in elementary school besides modules by implementing R & D cycles. Based on the data analyses of pretest and posttest it can be concluded that student’s achievement increased significantly. Further more, instruction’s strategy used by teachers which is put students as a center of instruction can bring into reality “science is fun” in elementary school.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to examine the implementation of the policy of proffesional guidance system for elementary schools’ teachers through schools force. The population were schools’ beurocracy, eductional practitioners, managers of schools force, and builders of schools force. The subjects were selected through porpusive sampling techniques. The data collection instruments were questionnaire, focus discussion group, interview, documentation study, and observation. The research results were: (1) in general school cluster performances in developing professionalism of elementary teachers were in moderate (enough) category, (2) the professionalism level of teachers who involved in school cluster-based teacher professional development was in less or low category, (3) teacher competencies in teacher learning processes in general were only in moderate category, which have not reached ideal quality, (4) student achievements were in good enough level in line with the quality of teaching learning process that was in moderate category.

Abstract: In the education world, outbound education is a children’s training in the context of natural world as a learning instrument. This type of education gives children survival competencies integrated with environmental knowledge and other supported learning materials The  supported learning materials are leadership, cooperation, aotonomy, self confidence, motivating skills, creativity building, responsibility sense, and problem solving skills.  Also in the social children interactions during outboun process, the trainers can develop children’s social maturity.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this qualitative classroom action research is to evaluate the educational implementation in the excellent school based on some criteria, i.e. physical and social environment, students selection methods, teachers’ recruitment, understanding and implementation of curriculum, facilitation, school management, and funding. The objects of this research were SDN Kauman II Malang. Results found that most of the criteria were fulfilled by the school.
