Abstract

Public Transportation in urban areas is expected to be main choice for people’s mobility. The aim of this research is apply value creation framework based on S-D Logic and Trans Jogja from Yogyakarta and Värmlandstrafik AB Sweden are the case study. This research use direct observation and interview to the related person/ company as the primary data, and to support them use group discussion with the users. This research also use secondary data from some journals, reports, documentations, etc. From the analysis and discussion Värmlandstrafik AB is address the value creation service and opportunity more than Trans Jogja. From conclusion, the need of applying value creation framework in Trans Jogja is to offer public transport improvement as has been illustrated by Trans Jogja. Although the achievement of value creation opportunities are not as high as that achieved by Värmlandstrafik AB, but Trans Jogja should learn about what needs should be improved. Keywords: S-D Logic, Value Creation Opportunity, Trans Jogja, Public Transport Improvement

Abstract

Route selection is a major element of the network assignment model. This process is often also callednetwork tree building. In conventional route selection, each repetition will only produce one best path orshortestpath. Using fuzzy systems approach, travel cost is modeled in fuzzy numbers. Fuzzy numbers arenumbers with certain upper-bound and under-bound limits. In fuzzy conditions, route selection process isexpected to produce several routes that can be nominated as the shortestpath. It means that in each repetition, the finding algorithm will generate more than one best route, starting from the first best route, the second bestroute, to the k best route. The next process is the trip assignment existing (demand side) on the transportationnetwork system (supply side) which will produce a route pattern and traffic flow. Traffic flow allocationbased on the series of best routes and degree of membership of fuzzy numbers. Keywords: fuzzy travel cost, fuzzy shortest path, fuzzy assignment

Abstract

The coordination among institutions responsible for recording road accident data is weak. It is shown that thefatal accident data for specific locations and/or time periods are reported differently by police offices, insurance companies, and provincial office of health. The aim of this study is to eliminate the difference inthe reported fatal accident data by developing a uniformity method. The proposed method would be able tohandle parallel conversion for adjusting fatality data from the three institutions. The conversion factor willemploy the combination of average values of the parallel conversion factors. Based on the data available inthe Province of West Java, it is found that the value of parallel conversion factors between the police officeand the West Java Provincial Office of Health is 1.31 and between the police office and Jasa Raharjainsurance company is 3.93. The average value of these conversion factors with insurance claim considerationis 2.56 meaning that the real number of fatalities is 2.56 times the amount recorded by the police office. Keywords: road traffic accident, fatalities accident data, and parallel conversion factor

Abstract

One of the root problems causing early damages on provincial and district roads is road administrators’ and developers’ low compliance against the road standards. To deal with this issue, a systemic logic model has been developed to facilitate the monitoring and the evaluation analyses of road standards implementation. The model was written in Java Runtime Environment version 6 and designed to feature portability, acceptability, applicability, and useability. The model was developed based on expert survey and typology analysis to gather and select the determining variables and their indicators.Model application in the case of SNI 03-2853-1992(guidelines on constructing road foundation using crushed stones) implementation is demonstrated in this paper. The results showed 58.50% of the sample “own” the standard, 61.18% “understand” the standard, 60.52% “implement” the standard, 51.39% “oversee” the implementation of the standard, and therefore the overall implementation score for the said standard was 59.08%. The model developed in this study has the potentials to provide recommendations to road administrators on whether or not a standard needs revision or even abolition. Keywords: evaluation, monitoring, quality standard, provincial and local roads

Abstract

Jakarta has developed an integrated transport system and planned, called Macro Transportation System planto address transportation problems in Jakarta. Transjakarta, a Bus Rapid Transit system (BRT), is one of thepublic transportation facilities included in the Macro Transportation System plan, which was intended as aneffort to developa new urban transportation culture. This study used the concept of socio engineering toassess the Transjakarta transport service in Jakarta. The results indicate that the highest service quality relatedto the dimension of empathy and lower service quality associated with the tangible dimension. Keywords: integrated transport system, Bus Rapid Transit, socio engineering.

Abstract

The population in Depok is growing in line with the growth of garbage produced. This issue should be balanced with the availability of proper waste management facility, such as providing waste collection vehicles. Pesona Khayangan residence is one of the area in Depok which has waste collection door-to-door service. The limited number of waste collection vehicles make it inefficient to reduce the mounting garbage. This research is aimed to determine the optimal route of waste collection in term of time and cost. The Travelling Salesman Problem is used to model the optimization problem. The solution shows that there is time and distance efficiency on the proposed route and it has successfully saved 50.2 minutes and 0.9 km per service operation. Keywords: waste collection, routing, travelling salesman problem

Abstract

Traffic congestion can be a serious problem in major cities around the world, especially in centrall urban area. Congestion results not only in time lost while sitting in traffic jams but also constitutes a disruption to company supply chains and the general flow of commerce. Idling vehicles contribute as well to air pollution which reduces the quality of health. The aim of this paper is to formulate mode choice model between privatepassenger cars and TransJogja Bus service as a result of the application of a congestion cost in a congested road along the region of Malioboro, Yogyakarta. The amount of the congestion cost represents the difference between perceived and actual generalized cost in traffic jam condition. In this study the congestion cost is only applied to the private passenger cars, as they are expected to shift to TransJogja Bus and, therefore, thepublic transport usage will increas. The mode choice model was developed based on users preferences of service as indicated by travel attributes. The logit binomial model was used to formulate the individual behavior based on stated preference data from passenger car users in Malioboro, Yogyakarta. The modelpredicts the probability of choosing a particular mode of transportation. The result show that five travel attributes assumed to have high influences toward mode choice behavior. These attributes are travel cost, congestion cost, travel time, parking cost, and walking time to the bus stop of TransJogja. Keywords: binomial logit model, congestion cost, stated preference, traffic congestion, TransJogja

Abstract

Jakarta and Jabodetabek area (Greater Jakarta) developed very rapidly in the last ten years. In addition, the development in this region led to the increased of motor vehicle ownership, particularly motorcycles. The growth in the number of vehicles that are not followed by the addition of a sufficient length of road causing traffic problems in the Jabodetabek area. Within about 10 years, travel time increased or travel speed dropped significantly in Jakarta. In addition, the implementation of several development programs, as results of the Study on Integrated Transportation Master Plan for the Jabodetabek (SITRAMP Jabodetabek) are not going according to plan, caused by weak legislation, lack of financial resources, difficulties in land acquisition, institutional constraints, and constraints in the implementation of traffic restrictions. Keywords: motor vehicle ownership, travel time, SITRAMP Jabodetabek

Abstract

An evaluation of fatigue resistance for foamed asphalt mixture is very demanding since the binder is not continuously distributed on the aggregate surface and this mixtures contains water, the content of which dramatically affects the mechanical properties. This paper discusses the results of laboratory fatigue testingon the foamed asphalt mixtures in which the specimens are generated using three different foamed bitumen properties. Foamed bitumen as the binder was produced at three different foaming water content (FWC) at a temperature of 180oC using a 70/100 pen. The aggregates were mechanically mixed with foamed bitumen using a Hobart mixer. The resulting mixtures were then compacted using a gyratory compactor to generatespecimen with diameter of 100 mm. The specimens were fatigue tested at various stress levels at a temperature of 20oC following a curing period of 3 days at 40oC. Overall, fatigue performance of foamed asphalt can be identified based upon both stress and strain for mixtures produced at FWC 1%, 5%, and 10%.Keywords: fatigue performance, foamed asphalt, binder, foaming water content.
