Abstract

This study explores the pivotal role of mental model development in enhancing sustainability initiatives within green campuses. As universities increasingly strive to mitigate their environmental impact, understanding and fostering the mental models of students, faculty, and staff becomes crucial. Mental models, which are deeply ingrained assumptions and perspectives about how the world works, significantly influence individuals' behaviors and decision-making processes. By identifying and reshaping these mental models to align with sustainability goals, educational institutions can cultivate a more sustainable campus culture. The research employs a qualitative approach with data from university leaders and faculties. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The researcher analyzed the data using Nvivo 12Plus software through 7 stages: open coding, axial coding, selective coding, matrix coding query, and word frequency query. The results of the analysis show that, through the democratic attitude of the leaders and staff in each unit, the campus community members can express their opinions and can be well received by the leaders and staff. With a resilient mentality, every problem can be adequately resolved, and they are able to appreciate and manage diversity and not impose their will. Leaders, with material rewards, appreciate the office boys or staff at UIN Raden Intan.

Abstract

In his tafsir work al-Baḥr al-Muḥīṭ, Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī is one of the scholars who has reviewed the interpretation of the Qur'an using linguistic analysis. The author of this research will go over Abu Hayya'n al-Andalusiy's opinions regarding qira, 'a, t sha, and dhdhah in the tafsir of al-Baḥr al-Muḥīṭ. Since it does not fit the requirements for the legitimacy of qirā’āt, qirā’āt shādhdhah is one of the ways of recitation that is still up for controversy among scholars. However, some commentators, such as Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī in the tafsir of al-Baḥr al-Muḥīṭ, utilize it to interpret the Qur'an. The ideas of Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī regarding qirā’āt shādhdhah are thoroughly examined in the linguistic domains of syntax, morphology, and phonology. The problem that has to be solved is this: How do Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī's ideas on qirā’āt shādhdhah fit into the understanding of al-Baḥr al-Muḥīṭ? This study employs a qualitative approach and is conducted in a library. It analyses Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī's views on qirā’āt shādhdhah in the context of al-Baḥr al-MuḥīṭThis study maps the ideas of Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī on qirā’āt shādhdhah in the linguistic features of phonology, morphology, and syntax in the interpretation of al-Baḥr al-Muḥīṭ. The results of the research of Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī on qirā’āt shādhdhah in the interpretation of al-Baḥr al-Muḥīṭ in the phonological, morphological, and syntactic domains are the study's outcomes. A portion of Abū Ḥayyān al-Andalusī's ideas regarding qirā’āt shādhdhah do not alter, but rather impact, reinforce, and broaden the meaning of interpretation.

Abstract

This research explores the views of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) towards transabled individuals and UAD's role in rejecting transabled individuals. Transabled refers to individuals who desire physical disability or engage in self-destructive behavior. This research focuses on the role of Islamic education through Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah (AIK) learning at UAD in forming attitudes towards the transabled. The research method uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews as a data collection technique and Paulo Freire’s critical education theory as a data analysis technique. Research respondents comprised students, lecturers, and administrative staff in the Public Health Sciences (IKM) study program, Faculty of Public Health (FKM) UAD. The research results show that IKM FKM UAD has an active role in rejecting the transabled concept. The role can be seen through the problem-solving approach to AIK learning in the IKM FKM UAD study program, which provides an understanding of physical disabilities within Islamic values and teaches the importance of accepting the body as God's creation with gratitude. Apart from that, AIK learning also builds a gratitude paradigm by creating an environment that utilizes individual well-being for both students who do not have physical limitations and those with disabilities. Local wisdom also plays a role in preventing transability with the values of civility and social righteousness. AIK learning also encourages discussion about ethical considerations surrounding body integrity and self-identity. This perspective allows students to consider the social, psychological, and ethical impacts of changing God’s creation or engaging in intentionally destructive behavior.
