Abstract

The urgency of this research lies in the fact that the utilization of the marine ecosystem in the Sreseh area is still not optimal in supporting SDG number 14, which is life below water (marine ecosystems), emphasizing the protection and sustainable use of marine resources. One solution that can be implemented is to integrate the potential of the local marine resources in Sreseh into Indonesian language learning materials. This research aims to describe teachers' perspective regarding the utilization of marine resources as Indonesian language learning material. The research location is Sreseh District, Sampang Regency. The research subjects are Indonesian language teachers at SMAN 1 Sreseh. The data collection technique used was a teacher response questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques including data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The research results indicate that the application of marine resources as learning material has never been done, and text containing the potential of marine resources is needed for contextual learning.

Abstract

As a system that shapes the human resources of a nation, education is a crucial aspect that must be maintained in harmony with the development of the times. The rapid flow of technological advancement demands that teachers continuously develop innovations within classroom settings — including in literature learning. Through the study of literature, students’ character and critical thinking skills are refined. Moreover, cultural and historical values within society can be taught through literary education. The cultivation of these values can be realized through the interaction between students and teachers by utilizing technology. Based on this premise, the present study aims to describe the transformation of literature learning for students in coastal areas through the use of interactive infographic techniques and gamification based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The method employed in this research is descriptive. The findings reveal that the transformation of literature learning through interactive infographic and AI-based gamification techniques not only enhances students’ learning motivation but also helps improve their understanding of the structure of fable texts.

Abstract

  The purpose of this study was to determine the motor skills of children before and after being given treatment at Kemala Bhayangkari 08 Bajawa Kindergarten, and to determine the effect of traditional games that can develop children's motor skills at Kemala Bhayangkari 08 Bajawa Kindergarten. This type of research is an experimental method that uses one group pretest posttest design data. The data collection methods used are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive quantitative. This study was conducted at Kemala Bhayangkari 08 Bajawa Kindergarten with a total of 17 children in class B1, consisting of 10 boys and 7 girls. The results showed that the implementation of the traditional gasing game (maka) had positive effect on improving the motor skills of early childhood children. A increase in developmental achievements was seen. Before treatment, children's motor skills were mostly in the categories of beginning to develop (MB) and not yet developed (BB). However, after treatment was given, children's developmental achievements increased to the categories of developing as expected (BSH) and developing very well (BSB). The use of the gasing game was proven to be able to eliminate the category of not yet developed (BB) in the research subjects, so it can be concluded that the traditional gasing game (maka) can be used as an alternative effective learning activity as a stimulus to improve the motor skills of early childhood children.

Abstract

One of the most important skills in learning English is speaking, although many junior high school students still struggle with speaking, especially when it comes to fluency, pronunciation, and grammar. Students are frequently inactive and reluctant to participate in speaking activities due to low self-confidence, a limited vocabulary, and a fear of making mistakes. Through the use of Small Group Discussion with Pictures, this study sought to enhance the speaking abilities of ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Denpasar in the academic year 2025/2026. Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of preparation, action, observation, and reflection, was used in this study. 39 students served as the study's subjects. Speaking tests (pre-test, post-test I, and post-test II) and a questionnaire were used to gather the data. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ speaking skills. The students’ improvement was from 54.71 (pre-test) to 65.97 (post-test I) and 77.98 (post-test II). Furthermore, 87.18% of the students reached the passing grade at the end of the second cycle. The questionnaire results showed positive responses toward the implementation of the strategy, particularly in increasing confidence, motivation, and participation in speaking activities. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that Small Group Discussion with Pictures is an effective strategy to improve students’ speaking skills. It is recommended that EFL teachers implement the strategy as an alternative technique in teaching speaking skills.

Abstract

Research entitled "Parental Care Forms in Cultivating Children's Social Skills in Naru Village". This study aims to determine and describe various forms of parenting applied by parents to early childhood and analyze the role of parental care in cultivating children's social skills in Naru Village. The urgency of this study is to determine the social development of early childhood as the basis for children's ability to adapt, communicate, and establish positive relationships with their surroundings. In Naru Village, there are still parents who do not understand the application of appropriate parenting patterns in cultivating children's social skills, coupled with busyness, limited time with children, and the influence of the social environment that becomes an obstacle in the parenting process. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. In this case the approach used is a case study. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Activities in analyzing data consist of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research subjects include parents who have children aged 4-6 years as the main focus, PAUD teachers who provide supporting information about children's social behavior at school, and children aged 4-6 years as objects of observation. The results of the study revealed that parents in Naru Village apply various forms of parenting, namely authoritative (democratic), authoritarian, permissive, and less involved (neglectful) parenting. Among these four patterns, authoritative parenting is the most widely applied and has been proven to have a positive influence on the development of children's social skills, including the ability to communicate, cooperate, share, and foster empathy. These findings provide important implications for parents and educators in selecting and implementing appropriate parenting patterns to support the development of social skills in early childhood, especially in rural communities.

Abstract

This research delves into the critical discourse analysis (CDA) of an advertisement for Sambal ABC, an Indonesian chili sauce product, employing Fairclough’s three-dimensional framework. It explores the linguistic, discursive, and social dimensions prevalent in advertising language. The study contextualizes advertising as a form of discourse aiming to influence consumer attitudes and behaviors, emphasizing the relevance of CDA in decoding cultural nuances embedded within advertising. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was employed, focusing on linguistic analysis of pronouns, imperatives, and adjectives. Additionally, the study investigated textual practice which focuses on the linguistics element, discursive practices which is unveiling how language production and consumption influence discourse formation; moreover, sociolinguistic analysis emphasized socio-historical factors affecting discourse interpretation. Results from the critical analysis of the Sambal ABC advertisement revealed deliberate linguistic choices aiming at audience engagement. Pronouns personalized the message, imperatives directed actions, and adjectives highlighted desired qualities, enhancing the advertisement’s appeal. Discursively, the advertisement positioned the audience as active participants, emphasized product uniqueness, and promoted social responsibility towards farmers, establishing an emotional connection rooted in family values. The study’s societal implications were evident, challenging norms of expressing gratitude towards products, recognizing farmers’ contributions, and tapping into cultural identity. This research underscores the intricate interplay between language, persuasion, and societal contexts within advertising, emphasizing the need for understanding discourse in advertising as a powerful tool shaping consumer perceptions.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektifitas pengunaan google meet dengan modifikasi kuis online sebagai media pembelajaran biologi dalam jaringan (Daring) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada masa pandemic covid-19 di SMA (SLUA) Saraswati 1 Denpasar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pre- eksperimen, one group pretest posttest design. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari tanggal 4 sampai dengan 8 Mei 2022 secara daring, berlokasi di SMA (SLUA) Saraswati 1 Denpasar yang beralamat di Jalan Kamboja No 11 A Denpasar. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas Xl SMA (SLUA) Saraswati 1 Denpasar,dan sampel penelitian ini siswa kelas Xl MIPA 2 berjumlah 27 siswa. Data hasil belajar dikumpulkan melalui pretest dan posttest, selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan Uji T-tes. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa meningkat dengan memanfaatkan google meet dengan modifikasi kuis online sebagai media pembelajaran daring. Peningkatan hasil belajar tersebut dapat dilihat dari nilai pretest yaitu nilai sebelum diberikan perlakuan dengan rata-rata 57,41 bila dibandingkan dengan nilai posttest yaitu nilai sesudah diberikan perlakuan dengan rata-rata 77,41.Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan Uji Paired T-test. Dari hasil uji t berpasangan yang dilakukan, diperoleh nilai sig.(2-tailed) sebesar (P=0,000) ini berarti bahwa terdapat pengaruh nyata antara pretest dan posttest. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa melalui penggunaan google meet dengan modifikasi kuis online efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas Xl MIPA 2 di SMA (SLUA) Saraswati 1 Denpasar.
