Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the City Without Slum (KOTAKU) program in Balik Alam Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency in 2020. This study uses the theory of policy implementation proposed by George C. Edward III, namely communication, resources, disposition and structure. This research uses a descriptive approach with a qualitative research type. Then the data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. While the data analysis technique is done by collecting information through interviews, data reduction and data presentationThe results of this study indicate that the implementation of the City Without Slum Program in the Balik Alam Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency in 2020 is quite good because it has fulfilled all the factors or variables proposed by George C. Edward III. Good and effective communication, adequate resources, human resources, equipment resources and resources, attitude of implementers who are able to run optimally, and very clear structure of mechanisms and systems. Keywords: Policy, City Without Slum program, Resources

Abstract

This study aims to determine the promotion strategy, service quality, and price of purchasing decisions at the Batam View Beach Resort Hotel. To determine the sample size using the Slovin formula with the sampling technique using the Accidental Sampling technique. For data collection techniques through questionnaires and literature studies, the types and sources of data used primary and secondary data. The measurement technique uses a Likert Scale. The results of the study confirm that there is a significant influence of promotion strategy, service quality, and price on purchasing decisions, but there are other variables that influence purchasing decisions. Keywords: Promotion Strategy, Service Quality, Price, Purchase Decision

Abstract

This study aims to determine the opinion of the people of Pekanbaru City about the haze of forest and land fires in Riau Province in 2019 and to find out the prevention and control efforts made by the Riau provincial government against the haze of forest and land fires. This study uses a qualitative method by interviewing 7 informants. The results of this study indicate the tendency of public opinion in Pekanbaru City to contain criticism and hope, contain a counter-direction to the efforts to overcome and prevent the haze of forest and land fires carried out by the Riau Provincial government. Based on the four theoretical factors for the formation of public opinion, it can be seen that the people of Pekanbaru City really dislike the occurrence of the forest and land fire haze because social, economic, and educational activities of the people of Pekanbaru City are hampered by the forest and forest fire haze in Riau Province in 2019. Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Province Riau, as the party responsible for handling forest and land fires, has made every effort to put out fires in the field directly, then provided masks, medicines, and health service posts for people affected by the haze, and also made efforts to monitor forest and land fire prevention and control activities. and carry out law enforcement to parties proven to have burned forests and land. Abstract

The development of the hospitality business has led to increasingly fierce competition, especially in terms of marketing. Technological, social and cultural developments have led to many companies being established to achieve certain goals in meeting human needs. One of the companies engaged in the service sector is hospitality. In creating guest satisfaction, the hotel must be able to improve the quality of the hotel with employee performance. Good performance from hotel receptionists has a big role in service industries such as hotels. The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance assessment of receptionists in guest services at the front office department of Harris Resort Waterfront Batam. The type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in the study were 3 people from the department and with reviews from several guests through one of the websites for Harris Resort Waterfront Batam. The results of this study were that the performance assessment of receptionists at the front office department of Harris Resort Waterfront Batam was in accordance with the theory of assessment. receptionist performance by FOM which includes good performance, good communication, good human relations, and good knowledge from a receptionist at Harris Resort Waterfront Batam. Keywords: Performance Assessment,Receptionist, Front Office,Harris Resort                 Waterfront Batam

Abstract

Ethiopia has not benefited from the water from the Nile for a long time, even though geographically the Blue Nile is located in the upper reaches of the river, most of which are in the territory of Ethiopia. However, due to the historical treaties of 1929 and 1959 between Egypt, Sudan, and the United Kingdom, it strengthened the Egyptian dominance to manage and regulate water rights in the Nile. But in 2011 Ethiopia announced it would build a giant water dam called the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) to boost economic growth.  This study uses a Mercantilism perspective with country-level analysis. The theory used in this research is the International Cooperation Theory from K.J Holsti. The qualitative method in this study uses secondary data with literature studies, using supporting data collected and references from several books, journals, articles, and various media related to this research. This study shows that Ethiopia asks for assistance from upstream and downstream to jointly agree to this development by agreeing called the Nile Basin Initiative Basin (NBI) and the Cooperative Framework Agreement (CFA) to further facilitate Ethiopia in building this dam. However, the Ethiopian effort was criticized and rejected by Egypt. From 2015 to 2020 there is an ever-changing dynamic in relations between Ethiopia and Egypt. This is because these two countries have the same national interest in maintaining the right to water in the Nile for the welfare of the people of each country. Keywords : GERD, NBI, CFA, and Ethiopiam dam.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the tourism promotion strategy that has been implemented by the Department of Tourism and Culture of Rokan Hulu Regency to determine the inhibiting factors of the promotional activities carried out. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The main informant of the research is the Head of Marketing at the Rokan Hulu Regency Tourism Office. Supporting informants are the Destinations Division of the Tourism and Culture Office of Rokan Hulu Regency. Data collection was carried out by direct observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study concluded that the tourism promotion mix has been implemented by the Department of Tourism and Culture of Rokan Hulu Regency, namely advertising (Advertising), sales promotion, and public relations. In addition, the inhibiting factor for promotion is the local community who does not want to cooperate with the Tourism and Culture Office of Rokan Hulu Regency, accommodation such as roads that are still very limited and cannot be passed by cars, management and human resources are still lacking causing the Department of Tourism and Culture to find it difficult to carry out promotional activities. Keywords: promotion mix, promotion strategy, tourism

Abstract

This research was conducted at Alpha Hotel Pekanbaru which is located at Jalan H. Imam Munandar No. 17 Pekanbaru. This study aims to determine the effect of Service Quality and Promotion Implementation on Room Service Consumer Satisfaction partially and simultaneously. This study uses a quantitative descriptive analysis method with the SPSS program. The population in this study were all visitors to Alpha Hotel Pekanbaru in 2020. The sample in this study was 100 respondents. Determination of the sample in this study using the Slovin formula, namely the Accidental Sampling technique.Data analysis used validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, simple linear regression analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, determination analysis and significance test with t test (partial test) f test (simultaneous test). The results of this study indicate the results of the first t-test hypothesis, Service Quality has a significant effect on consumer satisfaction. Second, the implementation of the promotion has a significant effect on consumer satisfaction. The results of the f-test of Service Quality and Promotion Implementation simultaneously have a significant effect on Room Service Consumer Satisfaction at Alpha Hotel Pekanbaru.Keywords: Service Quality, Promotion Implementation, Consumer Satisfaction

Abstract

This research focuses on the implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution (AATHP) in controlling the forest and land fire cases that often occurs in its member countries, one of them is Indonesia. Indonesia is a country with the largest number of forests in ASEAN, including the Riau Province. The AATHP was signed by ASEAN member countries on 2002, and Indonesia ratified the agreement on 2014. The AATHP contains 32 articles which regulate the objectives, principles, obligations, monitoring, assessment, prevention, technical and financial cooperation.This research uses the perspective of Green Theory and International Environmental Regime Theory. Green Theory assumed that the division between domestic and international politics could occur because of the national boundaries that do not coincide with the ecosystem, and this can be a collective transboundary and global environmental problem. Then, the environmental regime emerged because of human activities that destroy nature, thus the raise of the environmental regime is expected to eradicate environmental problems in the regional and global scope. This research was conducted using qualitative methods with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques were carried out through secondary data sources, such as previous research, journals, and other library sources.This research shows that there are differences in the number of hotspots and the area of forest fires before and after Indonesia ratified AATHP. There are efforts made by the Indonesian government, especially the Riau provincial government in preventing and overcoming forest and land fires in accordance with the contents of the AATHP. The results of these efforts can be seen from the change in numbers after Indonesia ratified and implemented AATHP.  Keywords: Green Theory, International Environmental Regime,                   Transboundary Haze, Forest and Land Fire, AATHP.

Abstract

The Pelalawan Bright Program is one of the strategic programs of the Pelalawan Regency government which is contained in the Pelalawan Regency Regional Regulation. This program is an effort to increase household electrification and the use of electricity resources to support economic, social and cultural activities by facilitating the construction of power plants and the construction of electricity networks to remote areas. However, in the implementation of the Pelalawan Terang program, there are still some problems. Where there are areas that do not have electricity and there are areas that have not enjoyed full electricity 1 X 24 hours. Based on the phenomena that occurred, the researchers were interested in conducting research related to the Evaluation of the Bright Pelalawan Program in Pelalawan Regency. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Context, Input, Process, and Product of the Pelalawan Terang program in Pelalawan Regency and identify the factors that hinder the implementation of the program. The theory used is the program evaluation theory by Stufflebeam, namely there are four evaluation components: Context, Input, Process, and Product. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research and the data source comes from primary data and secondary data obtained through interview, documentation, and observation techniques for further analysis using interactive model data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the context of the Pelalawan Terang program in Pelalawan Regency is good. The input from the Pelalawan Bright program in Pelalawan Regency is not good. The process of the Pelalawan Terang program in Pelalawan Regency is not good. The product of the Pelalawan Terang program in Pelalawan Regency is already good. The factors that hinder the implementation of the Pelalawan Terang program in Pelalawan Regency are: Program Funding, Program Supervision, and Program Realization.   Keywords: Light Pelalawan, Program Evaluation, Evaluation

Abstract

This study intends to analyze Saudi Arabia's Policy to Terminate Diplomatic Relations with Canada. The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the severance of diplomatic relations by Saudi Arabia against Canada. The crisis of diplomatic relations that is quite serious between Saudi Arabia and Canada is caused by Saudi Arabia's criticism of Canada on human rights.               This research is a qualitative research, which is explained based on the existing facts. Behavioral theory helps to analyze the role of non-state actors i.e. Individuals. Other theories used are Foreign Policy Theory, as well as Individual Analysis which helps researchers in finding answers to this research problem. The data collection technique used in this research is library research, in the form of journals, books, official documents, and websites.               The results of this study indicate that Canada's criticism of Saudi Arabia on human rights issues caused Saudi Arabia to cut off diplomatic relations with Canada that had existed since 1973. Saudi Arabia's attitude towards this criticism began with a persona non grata statement against the Ambassador's Representative sent by Canada to Saudi Arabia. . On the same day, Saudi Arabia also announced the suspension of all new trade and investment transactions with Canada. This attitude became an introduction to the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Canada.Keywords : Severance of Diplomatic Relations, Saudi Arabia, Canada
