Abstract

This study aims to explain and describe the level of academic burnout of FKIP students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This quantitative study is further elaborated with a descriptive approach. The research takes sample of 307 from total 6.544 students from the Faculty of Teaching and Education which then are given questionnaire consisting of 34 items. Based on the reliability test results using the Cronbach alpha method, the coefficient on the academic burnout questionnaire was 0.876. This research uses descriptive statistical analysis along with categorization to perceive the rate of academic burnout on the Faculty of Teaching and Education students. The result shows that 100% of the Faculty of Teaching and Education students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA are having low level of academic burnout. This study concludes the low level of academic burnout of FKIP students is supported by the low results of each sub-variables analysis that are the dimensions of academic burnout itself, namely exhaustion (76%), cynicism (63%), and inefficacy (61%). The study results also exhibit the factors that are affecting academic burnout level in the Faculty of Teaching and Education students, including: 1) workload, 2) control, 3) reward, 4) community, 5) fairness, 6) values, 7) demographic characteristics, 8) education level, 9) personality, 10) levels of hardiness, 11) locus of control, 12) coping styles, and 13) social support.

Abstract

This study aims to realize the psychological scale of parental attention and student deviant behavior at school. This research was conducted with the consideration that data on parental attention and student deviant behavior in schools is very necessary for guidance and counseling teachers in providing guidance and counseling services, besides that it is also useful for research activities. When at home has a relationship with student deviant behavior at school. To determine the level of parental attention and the level of student deviant behavior in junior high school, an instrument is needed in the form of a psychological scale of parental attention and deviant behavior of junior high school students. The procedure for developing a psychological scale was carried out briefly to determine the validity and reliability of the psychological scale of parental attention and the instrument of deviant behavior for junior high school students. Based on calculations using product-moment correlation and Cronbach's alpha, the results for the parental attention instrument 56 items were declared valid with reliability of 0.921 and in the high category. Furthermore, for the instrument of student deviant behavior, 35 statement items were declared valid with reliability of 0.902. The conclusion of this study is that the final product in the form of a psychological scale of parental attention and student deviant behavior in schools is valid and reliable.

Abstract

Changes in learning patterns put demands on students with a state of believing in their own abilities, believing in their ability to grow, encouraging curiosity, encouragement to want to succeed, encouragement to cooperate, initiative, perseverance, and independence. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of self-efficacy and achievement motivation on self-directed learning readiness. The research design used is quantitative with a correlational design. The number of samples in this study were 488 students. The instruments used are self-efficacy scale, achievement motivation scale, and self-directed learning readiness. The data analysis in this study is multiple regression analysis by going through the assumption test as a prerequisite. The results of the assumption test which include normality and heteroscedasticity have been declared eligible. Then, on the results of multiple regression analysis with the value of t count > t table, the self-efficacy value of 12,060 > 2,248 means that H1 is accepted. Furthermore, the value of achievement motivation is 5.992 > 2.248, which means that H2 is accepted. In the simultaneous F test with a calculated F value of 90.524 > F table of 1.195, which means that H3 is accepted, this means that simultaneously self-efficacy and achievement motivation affect the self-directed learning readiness. It can be concluded that self-directed learning readiness students’ increases due to their self-efficacy and encouragement to achieve goals or achievement motivation. Thus, based on the purpose of this research, it is possible to contribute in the form of self-directed learning readiness students to facilitate the educational process in any situation.

This research is motivated because there are still many mistakes in implementing integrated thematic learning in elementary schools. This research uses a literature study method (library research) through a literature review to strengthen the analysis of the various sources used. This research begins with formulating a research problem followed by analyzing the relevant research results. Data collection in this literature study was carried out using non-tests, namely by searching electronic journals through reputable journals, books, theses, and online journals published from 2014 to 2019 that are relevant to the application of the scientific approach. The results obtained from the research will be analyzed by the author using the content analysis method. Abstract

The results of the preliminary study found that the career maturity of SMK students was low, including a) students did not have plans for continuing their careers after graduating from school, b) students did not have an effort to find information on the chosen career major, c) students were not interested in reading information about the chosen career, and students have difficulty deciding where to go and what to do when they graduate from school. Researchers need to strive to increase the career maturity of vocational students. To measure the increase in career maturity in this effort, the researcher developed an instrument in the form of a valid and reliable vocational maturity scale for vocational students. Therefore, this article describes the validity and reliability test of the career maturity scale of vocational students which has been developed by the researchers themselves. Based on the results of the validity test that was given to 139 students of class XI SMK Pemuda Papar, 55 valid scale items were obtained with a table of 0.166 and a reliable level of 0.892. Of the 55 valid items, all represent every indicator of career maturity. Based on the validity and reliability test of the instrument, the career maturity scale can be used to measure the career maturity level of the Pemuda Papar Vocational School students at the next research stage.

Abstract

The research aims to develop a resilience instrument in the form of a mobile brimop that has an adequate level of validity and is theoretically acceptable. This research model uses Brog and Gall, (1983). This development research uses data collection instruments, namely acceptability questionnaires for testing media experts, content experts and potential users. The data analysis technique used an inter-rater agreement model and descriptive statistical test. The results of the study have an index value of 1 in the media expert test, the content expert test index value of 0.97 prospective users of the Guidance and Counseling Teacher, the index value of 1 and the prospective users of the students, the results of the average percentage of 94.18% mean that the resilience instrument in the form of Brimop can accepted in theory.

Humans are creatures that cannot be separated from one another, empathy is something that is indispensable for every human being, empathy is said to be the core of emotion, considering the importance of the character of empathy for every human being, this needs to be grown and developed in students. This study aimed to determine the validity and reliability of the empathy scale. Researchers used an instrument development design consisting of: (1) research and informing; (2) planning; (3) developing a preliminary form of product; (4) preliminary field testing; (5) main product revision. The population in this study was 270 students of class XI SMAN 1 Pare with a sample of 30 students. Data analysis was carried out using product-moment correlation and Cronbach's Alpha. From the initial instrument design of 30 items, there were 30 invalid items, leaving 23 valid items while the Cronbach alpha value was 0.852 which was included in the good category. Thus, the instrument is ready to use.
