Abstract

Agricultural land is a natural resource that plays an important role in the continuity of human life. Lamongan is one of the regencies with vast agricultural land, around 80% of the Lamongan Regency area is agricultural land consisting of rice fields and non-rice fields. However, every year Lamongan is hit by drought in several regions. Drought in Lamongan occurs on average around June - October. Several sub-districts in Lamongan are hit by drought, one of the causes of which is low rainfall during the dry season. This study used rainfall data and Landsat 8 satellite imagery with a time span of August - October 2019 - 2023. Landsat 8 imagery was adjusted to the months used, and image processing to obtain drought results in Lamongan Regency using the NDDI (Normalized Difference Drought Index). From the processing, the results obtained in October 2023 were that the area hit by severe drought was Sarirejo District with an area value of 32,490,000 m2 from the total area of Sarirejo District of 47,380,000 m2. Around 68.57% of the Sarirejo District area was hit by severe drought. This study aims to determine the area affected by drought in the Lamongan area. Abstract

The construction industry in Indonesia continues to grow. Additionally, data from the Ministry of Environment shows that the amount of non-organic waste accumulated over the four years from 2020 to 2023 has also increased. The innovation in this study is the use of non-organic waste from ‘Kempyeng’ bottle caps and glass as a solution for environmentally friendly concrete (Green Concrete). This study aims to identification the optimal composition and analize percentage influence on compressive strength and bulk density from the use of non-organic waste bottle caps ‘Kempyeng’ and glass powder as partial substitutes for cement and gravel. The study used bottle cap ‘Kempyeng’ compositions of 0%, 2%, 4%, 5%, and 7%. Meanwhile, the glass powder mixture composition was 0%, 5%, and 8%. Laboratory test results showed the optimal composition for partial substitution of cement and gravel was 5% glass and 4% kempyeng, with concrete compressive strength at 28 days of 26.92 MPa and bulk density of 2360.7 kg/m³. This proportion also increased the compressive strength by 6.65% and reduced the bulk density by 0.82% compared to normal concrete. With these results, glass powder and ‘Kempyeng’ bottle caps can be used as partial substitutes for cement and gravel in concrete mixtures.

Abstract

Analyzing the structure using different manual methods certainly has a different flow. The results of the calculation of the structural analysis of each manual method certainly have varying values. Where the analysis will compare the two manual methods, namely the matrix method and the cross method. Based on these differences, a comparative analysis is carried out between the manual method (matrix method) and other manual methods (the cross method) related to the calculation results obtained from each method. The object of study analyzed is the structural model. The analytical method used is the comparative analysis method. This analysis is focused on the comparison of the two methods, namely the matrix method and the cross method in relation to the calculation results of internal forces which will be compared the magnitude and difference as well as the level of the resulting magnitude. The results of the analysis show that the values generated in the two structural analysis methods are not the same. The calculation of the difference between the results of the structural analysis of the two methods on each stem has a different difference value. Based on the frequency value, each internal force in the structural analysis has a different level of magnitude. In all structural models, there is a large difference and a small difference.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya has a high-rise building used as an office and lecture building, one of which is a 13-storey Rectorate Building equipped an elevator as its main facility. Elevators used intensively by students, staff, and lecturers simultaneously at peak times resulted in elevators high load, so elevator performance was less optimal. Lack of optimum elevator performance affects the elevator's long wait times and generates queues for elevator users. This study aims to optimize the performance of the elevator according to the SNI 03-6573-2001 standard against the initial planning of the Rectorate Building elevator. The methods of research used range from literature studies, preliminary surveys, data collection, and processing. Calculation of elevator requirements parameters using speed and capacity benchmarks according to SNI 03-6573-2001. In the initial planning of the elevator Rectorate Building, it is planned to use 2 units with a speed of 96 mpm and a capacity of 14 people (1050 kg), resulting in wait times exceeding the standard of 1–5 minutes. The optimization result that has been calculated through the parameters of the elevator requirements is recommended using 3 units at 90 mpm speed and capacity for 26 people (1800 kg) yielding a waiting time of 59 seconds from the standard (40-90 seconds). Such optimization results are in accordance with the standard proposed and can be an alternative in the planning of elevators on high-rise buildings, in particular lecture buildings.

Abstract

Good road construction is influenced by several resources, one of which is material. Road construction materials include aggregates and asphalt. These materials are held by service providers, namely material suppliers. Material suppliers are important in supporting road construction work in accordance with the time, cost, and quality that have been determined. These suppliers will form a network of cooperation called supply chains. A supply chain is a physical network consisting of companies that work together to provide raw materials, process them into finished goods, and deliver them to end users. Conceptually, the supply chain is built by several components, such as materials, suppliers, management, finance, transportation, weather, location, time, and the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted to determine whether these components are important components in the smooth material supply chain. This research involved contractors working on road construction on Timor Island as resource persons. Data collection is done using the survey method, namely a closed questionnaire. Data processing and analysis techniques use descriptive statistical analysis with the help of SPSS software. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the success of road construction is built from component factors, namely materials, suppliers, management, finance, transportation, weather, location, and time. The COVID-19 pandemic is very important for the smooth supply chain of road construction materials on Timor Island.

Abstract

Subgrade soil is a crucial component of any construction project, be it roads, buildings, or bridges. Maintaining soil stability, particularly soil reinforcement, requires special attention. The clay soil at the Cangar site is fertile and located in the highlands. Laboratory soil testing is crucial for development planning in this area, as it enables the determination of soil properties and bearing capacity. To verify the maximum bearing capacity of the soil, a 20% limestone mixture was used, using the compaction modification and laboratory CBR testing methods. Test results revealed that the clay soil at the site has high plasticity. After mixing with limestone, the plasticity decreased by 11 points to level 15, classifying it as silty clay with moderate plasticity. Based on the CBR test of the original clay soil, the soil bearing capacity value was 22.4%, and after being mixed with 20% limestone, the value increased to 26.4%. In contrast, the maximum density of the original clay soil MDD was 0.99 grams/cm³; then, after being mixed with limestone, the MDD reached 1.24 grams/cm³. The distribution of grain size before being mixed with limestone was 2.02 grams of gravel, 61.03 grams of sand, and 436.95 grams of clay. After being given a limestone stabilizer, it was 37.06 grams of gravel, 123.45 grams of sand, and 339.49 grams of clay.

Abstract

The construction implementation system in the Mandala Mathika Subak Museum Revitalization project uses the cast in situ or conventional method including floor slab work. The implementation of floor slab work with the cast in situ method requires a long processing time and a lot of labor and costs incurred. In the construction of the building, the selection of work methods is very influential on the implementation time and cost. The selection of the right method will make the development efficient. One of them is the use of precast concrete such as half slab. In this study will compare conventional methods and half slab methods from the aspects of implementation time and cost, which is more profitable. The results of the comparative analysis of execution time and costs from the calculation of cast-in-situ and half-slab plates in the Revitalization Project of the Mandala Mathika Subak Museum show that using the half-slab method saves 33% in costs compared to the cast-in-situ method, with a cost difference of Rp. 552,730,037, and can accelerate the execution time of 43% or 19 days.

Abstract

The proper drainage system design an important aspect in the development of healthcare facilities such as Permata Palembang Hospital. This study aims to analyze the suitability of the hospital drainage system design with applicable standards, and to evaluate the channel capacity to accommodating water discharge from the hospital and runoff from Citra Bukit Lestari Housing Area before operation. The analysis methods include calculation of statistical parameters, design rainfall distribution, distribution suitability test, rainfall intensity, peak flood discharge, and channel dimensions. The results of the analysis indicate that the initial design did not take into account the rainfall factors and design flood discharge. The evaluation of existing channel capacity shows sufficient capacity for U Ditch 1 channel, however the capacity of 3 box culvert channels and 4 box culvert channels is not enough to accommodate peak discharge. The optimization was carried out by redesigning the channel dimensions, widening the 3 box culvert channel to 550x400 mm and 4 box culvert to 1000x800 mm. This redesign results in a channel capacity that is able to accommodating design flood discharge, both under normal and extreme conditions.

Abstract

Construction project implementation planning is an important stage that aims to optimize time, cost, and quality of work. In the construction project of the Badung Regency KPU Office Building, implementation planning is very crucial considering the location of the project which is in a densely populated area, so that an appropriate and efficient implementation method is needed. The problems faced are how to prepare an implementation schedule, calculate resource requirements, and plan costs systematically so that the project can run according to plan. This study uses the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) to prepare the project schedule and Microsoft Project as a visualization tool. In addition, an analysis of human resource needs, materials, and tools was carried out as well as the preparation of the Implementation Cost Plan (RBP) and Budget Plan (RAB). The results of the study show that implementation planning using the PDM method produces a structured and efficient project schedule. The total cost obtained from the RBP analysis results is IDR 4,159,270,327.34, while the RAB reaches IDR 4,623,397,141.26, with a cost difference of IDR 464,126,813.93. This research is expected to be a reference for planning the implementation of similar building construction projects, especially in the context of using the PDM method.
