Abstract

Soil water content significantly influences the bearing capacity of a soil. Bearing capacity is the ability of the soil to support construction loads. In a construction project, the subgrade must be able to support the planned loads and meet the requirements for successful construction. This experimental study aimed to determine the soil type, specific gravity, plasticity index, and the effect of changes in soil water content on the CBR values of soaked and unsoaked soil from Lubuk Mumpo Village, Gunung Megang District, Muara Enim Regency. This study involved mixing native soil with mixture percentages of -10% OMC, -20% OMC, and +10% OMC, +20% OMC, to determine the CBR value. Ten soil samples were prepared for this test: 5 unsoaked and 5 soaked samples, based on SNI 1744-2012. The highest CBR values were obtained at 10.94% for the -20% soaking variation (soaked) for 4 days and 5.33% for the -20% unsoaked variation (unsoaked) compared to the original soil. These results indicate that a 20% decrease in water content below the OMC increases the CBR value, while an increase in water content above the OMC decreases the CBR value.

Abstract

Cost and time are critical factors in construction projects. Therefore, it is essential to determine the optimal cost and time by performing Crashing on activities within the critical path. The analysis begins by identifying the critical path using the Critical Path Method (CPM), followed by crashing the activities on the critical path. In this study, acceleration is achieved through three alternatives: adding 2 hours of overtime (alternative 1), increasing the workforce (alternative 2), and adding a night shift (alternative 3). The determination of the optimal cost and time is based on two key variablel cost and time utilizing Euclidean, analysis to identify the most efficient trade-off between the two.. The analysis reveals that the most optimal alternative is alternative 2 (increasing the workforce). The project's normal completion time is 210 calendar days with a cost of IDR 4,483,505,000 By applying Crashing, the project completion time is reduced to 148 calendar days, resulting in a time saving of 62 calendar days. However, this acceleration increases the cost to IDR 4,583,211,000 an additional IDR 99,705,000 Thus, alternative 2 is considered optimal compared to alternatives 1 and 3 in terms of cost and time.

Abstract

Roads serve as critical infrastructure for enabling efficient, safe, and economical transportation of people and goods. Effective pavement planning must be based on methods suited to actual field conditions to ensure long-term functionality. The Road of Pantai Amal Lama, scheduled for construction in 2022, represents a new road segment requiring full construction from subgrade formation to surface layer. Given the relatively low traffic volume, the pavement design employs the Component Analysis Method outlined in SKBI 2.3.26.1987. This method primarily considers average daily traffic (ADT) and the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) of subgrade soil. Based on the analysis, the recommended layer thicknesses for a 10-year design life are: 10 cm sub-base, 20 cm base course, and 5 cm surface course. These structural dimensions form the technical basis for the road construction, aiming to ensure serviceability and durability under local conditions.

Abstract

The Bung Karno Tomb Area requires adequate parking facilities to accommodate two-wheeled, four-wheeled, dan six-wheeled vehicles. A viral case regarding a parking fee of up to IDR 800,000 for a group of buses at the Bung Karno Tomb Tourism dan Trade Information Center (PIPP) highlights the importance of clear dan transparent parking management (Metrotvnews 2025). This study employs a quantitative approach to analyze parking space requirements dan propose solutions for parking area management. The analysis shows a total of 627 parked vehicles, with an average parking volume of 647 vehicles dan an accumulation of 54 vehicles. The average parking duration is 13 minutes for two-wheeled vehicles, 5 minutes for four-wheeled vehicles, dan 6 minutes for heavy vehicles. Based on data from 100 respondents, 54% were male dan 46% were female, with the highest rate of private vehicle ownership among male respondents. These findings indicate that the increasing mobility of visitors must be balanced with more efficient parking arrangements. Therefore, well-planned dan capacity-appropriate parking management solutions are essential to improve visitor comfort, reduce congestion in the tourist area, dan strengthen the positive image of the Bung Karno Tomb Area as a leading tourist destination in Blitar City.

Abstract

The State University Hospital Construction Project (RSPTN) at the University of Jember exhibits high complexity in its implementation, involving various factors that have the potential to impact the quality of Human Resources (HR) and the risk of performance failure. This study aims to identify failure risks, evaluate dominant factors affecting Human Resource (HR) quality, and formulate risk mitigation strategies. The Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method is used to systematically analyze the root causes of the problems. The results of the study indicate that the dominant factors contributing to failure are a lack of awareness regarding job responsibilities, poor coordination, and limited worker experience, with the highest Severity Index (SI) value recorded at 99,67%. Recommended mitigation measures include technical training, certification, strict supervision, and the implementation of a reward and punishment system. With appropriate mitigation strategies, failure risks can be reduced, and project performance can be improved.

Abstract

The simultaneous implementation of occupational safety and health (OSH) has a positive and significant impact on accident rates. The higher the level of safety and OSH in the workplace, the lower the rate of workplace accidents. This study is related to the XYZ (Elevated) Toll Road Project, a toll road construction project that connects the Inner City Toll Road. During the execution of this project, an incident occurred in which an excavator operator made an error while operating heavy equipment and touched the MCB in the work area. This incident resulted in material damage and the potential for minor injuries to workers. To identify the key factors influencing OSH implementation in the XYZ (Elevated) Toll Road Project, a survey was conducted using questionnaires provided to staff and workers on the project. The collected data were then analyzed using SPSS software. The results of the research showed that OSH planning factors have a dominant influence on OSH implementation in the XYZ (Elevated) Toll Road Project, with a percentage of 41%.

Abstract

The rapid growth of national housing development in Indonesia needs to consider sustainability aspects to reduce environmental impacts. One of the approaches applied is the Green Building concept, which focuses on energy efficiency, resource conservation, and good environmental quality. This study aims to evaluate the performance of Green Building implementation in a national housing project in Purwakarta Regency and to provide strategic recommendations for its improvement. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, through document analysis and direct observation during the construction audit carried out by the Professional Expert Team of the Purwakarta Local Government, the Public Works and Housing Office ( Dinas PUPR), and assessors from Perum Perumnas. The assessment is based on the parameters stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Housing No. 21 of 2021 (PERMEN PUPR No. 21/2021)concerning Green Building Performance Assessment. The results show that the project obtained a Green Building Certificate with an “Utama” (Excellent) rating of 80%, with the highest score in energy efficiency (40/46 points), followed by water efficiency (26/30 points), indoor air quality (16/18 points), and environmentally friendly materials (15/15 points). Meanwhile, site management (15/21 points), waste management (12/23 points), and wastewater management (8/12 points) were not fully optimized due to the limited application of rainwater conservation and integrated waste treatment systems. This study highlights the application of BGH in national housing projects through an official construction audit, which is still rarely explored, thus contributing to a better understanding of green building implementation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Non-sand concrete or porous concrete is made by reducing the use of fine aggregates (sand). The high porosity of this concrete acts as a water absorption capacity that allows the concrete to absorb rainwater and water from other sources above it. Based on the existing problems, this study examines the compressive strength, water absorption capacity, ideal proportions, and application of paving blocks made from sandless concrete using local coarse aggregates. The objective of this research is to determine the compressive strength, water absorption capacity, ideal proportions, and application of paving blocks. This study uses a ratio of 1Pc:6 Ak, 1Pc:8 Ak, and 1Pc:10 Ak with a phase of 0.4, and this research method uses in-depth analysis techniques. The 1Pc:6Ak ratio has the highest average compressive strength of 6.3 Mpa. The 1Pc:6Ak ratio had an average water absorption of 26 ml/second. The ideal proportion of the three ratios studied is 1Pc : 6Ak with a compressive strength of 6.3 MPa and a water absorption capacity of 26 ml/second. A compressive strength of 6.3 MPa is classified as grade D with a water absorption capacity of 26–31.75 ml/second.
