Abstract

Dengan semakin tingginya tingkat kesadaran masyarakat tentang produk pangan sehat, mendorong berkembangnya budidaya tanaman sayuran secara hidroponik kultur substrat khususnya di wilayah perkotaan. Penggunaan pupuk organik pada sistem budidaya hidroponik masih jarang digunakan. Penelitian ini merupakan percobaan pot di rumah plastik yang menggunakan kultur substrat berupa campuran cocopeat, biochar sekam dan pasir dengan sumber nutrisi berasal dari pupuk vermikompos. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pengaruh metode aplikasi dan dosis vermikompos padat maupun vermikompos cair terhadap pertumbuhan, dan hasil tanaman kailan. Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan kontrol. Faktor I adalah cara aplikasi vermikompos terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu M1= Vermikompos padat, M2= kombinasi vermikompos padat dan cair, M3 = Vermikompos cair.  Faktor II adalah Dosis Vermikompos yang terdiri dari lima taraf yaitu V1= 100 gram, V2= 200 gram, V3= 300 gram, V4= 400 gram, dan V5= 500 gram per pot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi vermikompos padat pada dosis 300-500 g/pot memberikan rata-rata pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman  (10,25 cm), jumlah daun (7,80) dan luas daun tanaman (295,73 cm2) yang nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya.  Berat segar total biomassa dan berat segar hasil yang bernilai ekonomis tertinggi terdapat  pada perlakuan vermikompos padat pada dosis 500 g/pot  masing-masing sebesar 62,14 gram dan 58,33 g,  tetapi tidak berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan control yaitu sebesar 66,54 gram  dan 61,84 gram. Hasil penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa untk mendapatkan hasil kailan yang tinggi,  penggunaan vermikompos padat dengan  dosis 500 g/pot direkomendasikan pada budidaya tanaman kailan secara hidroganik.

Abstract

The Rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) is the main pest of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). Biological control using Metarhizium anisopliae fungus was effective in controlling O. rhinoceros. M. anisopliae fungus can be applied on palm oil  empty bunches (POEB) which composted (Metankos). The research result in 2019 that a concentration of 50 g.l-1 M. anisopliae only kill 56% of O. rhinoceros larvae, so an increase in application concentration was tested. This research aimed to obtain the best concentration by increasing the concentration of M. anisopliae in POEB compost mixed with sawdust in controlling O. rhinoceros L. larvae. The research was conducted at The Plant Pest Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, to January until April 2021, using a completely randomized design (CRD), consist  five treatment and four replications, concentration of  M. anisopliae in compost was 55 g.l-1 water, 65 g.l-1 water, 75 g.l-1 water, 85 g.l-1 water, 95 g.l-1 water. The research showed that an increase in the  concentration  of M. anisopliae in compost of  75 g.l-1 water could be categorized as biopesticides because it caused an total mortality is 72,50 ± 5,00. The lethal concentrations  50% and 95% of M. ansiopliae in compost is 48 g.l-1 water approach to concentration 55 g.l-1 water  and 140 g.l-1 water approach to concentration 95 g.l-1 water.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of both interaction and primary administration of Growtone ZPT and NASA POC on vegetative growth, Vitamin C content and flavonoids in Young Moringa plants. This research was carried out in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University. This research was conducted for 4 months, from June 2019 to September 2019. This study used a Factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of the first 2 (two) factors (Growtone immersion duration) with a concentration of 50 ppm consisting of 4 (four) levels: L1 (20 minutes), L2 (40 minutes), L3 (60 minutes). The Second Factor (Nasa POC concentration), consists of 4 (four) levels: K0 (without treatment), K1 (2 ml / l water), K2 (4 ml / l water) and K3 (6 ml / l water). Data were analyzed statistically and continued with further tests of Honestly Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. Based on the results of research that has been conducted concluded that: The interaction of soaking time treatment and the concentration of real Nasa POC on the percentage of growth, number of leaf stalks, fresh leaf weight, number of leaflets. The best treatment was the growtone soaking treatment 40 minutes and the concentration of POC Nasa 6 ml/l water (L2K3). The main effect of growtone soaking time was apparent in all observational parameters. The best treatment is soaking for 40 minutes (L2). The main effect of real Nasa POC concentration on all parameters observed. The best treatment is the concentration of POC Nasa 6 ml/l water (K3). Giving growtone treatment with immersion for 40 minutes and POC NASA concentration by administering 4 ml per liter of water (L2K2) gives the best treatment results on the content of vitamin C,and  flavonoids  Moringa plants.

Abstract

The way to get superior varieties is by selection, namely through genetic parameters including diversity, heritability and genetic progress. This study aims to obtain information on the inheritance pattern of quantitative characters in several genotypes planted on peatlands. This study used a randomized block design consisting of 20 treatments and 3 replications so that 60 experimental units were obtained. Each experimental unit consisted of 20 plants and 10 plants were taken as samples. The results showed that the characters of red chili plant height, dichotomous height, crown width, fruit length, fruit diameter and weight per fruit can be used as selection criteria because they have wide diversity values, high heritability and high genetic progress which can be used as indicators of success. selection. Then, in cayenne pepper, all characters have a narrow genetic diversity value. Characteristics of flowering age, plant height, dichotomous height, crown width, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant can be used as selection criteria because they have heritability values. and high genetic progress which can be used as indicators of successful selection.

Abstract

The need for domestic wheat grains tends to increase, and one of the efforts to face this situation is the assembly of tropical wheat varieties. The approach taken through this research is hybridization followed by several generations of selection. This study aimed to predict heterosis and the crossed combinations that possibly produced transgressive segregants. The experiment was conducted from August 2016 to May 2017 at the experimental station of the Indonesian Ornamental Plants Research Center, Cipanas (1100 m asl), Cianjur Regency, West Java Province. The genetic materials were seven genotypes, namely Guri1, Guri2, Guri3, Guri6, HP1744, IS-Jarissa, and Vee, crossed with the Selayar variety. This experiment used a randomized complete block design with three replications. The treatment was 15 wheat genotypes (seven F1 genotypes and eight parent genotypes), so there were 45 experimental units. There were yield and yield component observations. The results showed that several characters in each F1 combination of crosses had a higher or lower mean value than their parents. There is a combination of crosses that have a high heterosis value. The action of genes that control yield and yield components of wheat are overdominant, partially dominant, and partially recessive gene actions. The cross combinations of Guri3/Selayar, Guri6/Selayar, Jarissa/Selayar, HP1744/Selayar, and Vee/Selayar have a greater chance to produce transgressive segregants than the others.

Abstract

Seedborne diseases on rice seeds can be controlled by using plant extracts which applied by seed treatment. The plants used, such as: green betel leaves extract, turmeric rhizome, and ketepeng cina leaves extract. The aim of this research is to study the effect of aplication of several plants extract and obtain the best extract to control fungal pathogenic on rice seeds and the effect to germination rice seeds. The research has been conducted at laboratory plant disease and greenhouse Experimental Field of Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University Pekanbaru. This reseach has been conducted experimentally by using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, namely: without addition plants extract (E0), green betel leaves extract 40% (E1), turmeric rhizome 25% (E2), and ketepeng cina leaves extract 15% (E3). The result showed that the application of ketepeng cina leaves extract could inhibit the growth of Pyricularia sp. 36,50%, Alternaria sp. 76,00% and Drechslera sp. 58,50%, but not contaminated fungi, such as: Rhizopus sp., Aspergillus sp., Mucor sp. and Penicillium sp. The application of the three plants extract were not able to affect seed germination rate, sum of  normal seed growth, seedling growth and the decreatesum of symptomatic disease seedlings.

Abstract

The use of polybags and topsoil planting media often causes the development of seedlings is not maximal because the topsoil is too dense. As well as continuous inorganic fertilization is not balanced with the provision of organic fertilizers cause the planting media to become dense. One of the efforts in overcoming this is by providing compost. Compost can improve soil fertility and can improve soil structure. This research was conducted with the aim to find out how the influence of banana stem compost fertilizer on the growth of rubber seedlings (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.Arg.) Clone PB 260 one umbrella. The design used in this research is Randomized Block Design (RAK) with one factor, namely banana stem compost with 5 levels that is without composting banana stems (k0), 250 g / polybag (k1), 500 g / polybag (k2), 750 g / polybag (k3) and 1000 g / polybag (k4) with 5 group. The observed variables are the increase in the length of grafting buds (cm), the increase in the number of leaf strands (strands), the increase in the diameter of the graft buds (mm), the time of the appearance of the second umbrella bud (day), the dry weight of the header (g) and the dry weight of the roots (g) of rubber seedlings. The results showed that the influence of the treatment of banana stem compost fertilizer does not differ noticeable to the growth of rubber seedling clones PB 260 one umbrella on all parameters observations.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to test several endophytic fungi isolates with high antagonistic power against seed borne fungi in vitro and their effect on the growth of chili (Capsicum annuum L.) seedlings in vivo. This research was conducted at the Plant Disease Laboratory and Greenhouse Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from October 2018 to February 2019. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment of endophytic fungi was applied using the seed immersion method. The results showed that giving the endophytic fungi Rhizictonia sp., Cephaloporium sp., T. virens from oil palm roots and T. virens from oil palm stems were able to suppress the incidence of seed-borne pathogenic fungi Fusarium sp., Colletotrichum sp. and Aspergillus sp.. Provision of endophytic fungus T. virens from oil palm roots can increase seed germination capacity by 14%, number of live seeds by 17% and increase seedling height and leaf number.

Abstract

Until now, Indonesia's rice production has not been able to meet all the needs of the community. In the evaluation of seeds there are often seeds that are still abnormal and have not germinated. From the description above, the researcher is interested in examining "Test of immersion time and biolemi POC dosage on the growth of rice seeds of Inpari 32 (Oryza sativa L.) variety". This research was conducted in Perbaungan Village, Bilah Hulu District, South Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research used inpari 32 rice varieties with factorial randomized block design (RAK) method, with two factors, namely soaking time and biolemy POC. Soaking time affects the growth of rice seedlings on the parameters of seedling height, germination and root length. The application of biolemy liquid organic fertilizer had no significant effect on all parameters. The interaction of immersion time with the application of biolemy liquid organic fertilizer gave no significant effect on all observation parameters.

Abstract

The research objective was to analyze the supply chain of the sago industry in the Meranti Islands Regency. Case Study PT. Nasional Sago Prima (PT. NSP). The research was carried out in March - October 2020. The research method was a survey. The analysis used: qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative analysis to describe the mechanism and flow pattern of the supply chain for the sago industry. Meanwhile, quantitative analysis is used to analyze components and supply chain activities. The results showed: 1). The supply chain mechanism for the sago industry that occurs is the creation of collaboration and coordination between supply chain actors from upstream to downstream. The flow pattern of the supply chain, which consists of raw material flow, product flow, financial flow and information flow, went smoothly. 2). The resistance of the supply chain for the sago flour industry are: A). 70% of the raw material for sago tual is supplied from outside the company, because the nucleus plantations have not yet entered the full harvest period. B). Inefficient processing costs due to: the cost of using electricity and the high cost of water filtration processes.
