Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an integrative-interconnective relationship between shariah law and sharia virtues. This will build a solid foundation of understanding and knowledge to guide the moral development of Gen Z, who grew up in an era of rapid technological advancement. The method used is a qualitative approach by utilizing library research and in-depth content analysis of primary texts and leading academic journals. The results of the study indicate that between sharia law, sharia virtues and the morality of Gen Z, all three are inseparable. However, it needs to be reiterated that the position of sharia law is the basis of sharia virtues and sharia virtues becomes an instrument for morality. In this case, the morality of Gen Z is like its inherent characteristics (critical thinking) but critical thinking in the style of sharia virtues (islamic thinking) based on sharia virtues. So here is the integrative-interconnective in the three relationships of sharia law, sharia virtues and the morality of Gen Z is truly. The implication of this research is that Gen Z is no longer rigid in its morals because it has been given teleological values (sharia virtues). To avoid deviating from these teleological values (sharia law), it remains grounded in theological values (sharia law). In fact, Gen Z is given the freedom to determine values in the 21st century and remains within theological values (sharia law).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the synergistic relationship between school culture and the formation of teacher professionalism at Muhammadiyah Junior High School in Medan. This study is based on the assumption that the success of teacher competency development is not only determined by individual factors, but also by a positive work environment and visionary leadership. The research method used a quantitative approach with a correlational survey design. The research population included all 355 teachers at Muhammadiyah Junior High School in Medan City, with a sample of 217 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used path analysis to examine the direct and indirect contributions between variables. The results showed that school culture had a significant effect on teacher professionalism, while principal leadership reinforced this effect by creating a participatory and collaborative work climate. The combination of the two resulted in a higher increase in teacher professionalism compared to the effect of each variable separately. These findings emphasize the importance of building an adaptive school culture and transformative leadership as a strategy for improving the quality of education in private schools based on values.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores how the implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) influences teacher character formation in two public senior high schools SMA Negeri 1 Namorambe and SMA Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru through a multisite qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis to identify differences in understanding, practices, and contextual factors affecting curriculum application. The findings reveal that both schools share a fundamental understanding of the Independent Curriculum’s core principles flexibility, differentiated learning, and strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) yet their implementations differ significantly. At SMA Negeri 1 Namorambe, the curriculum is primarily viewed as an administrative requirement, emphasizing discipline, responsibility, and individual independence. Conversely, SMA Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru interprets it as a framework for creativity, collaboration, and contextual learning, fostering innovative, reflective, and socially aware teacher characteristics. Contextual factors such as leadership style, socio-cultural environment, and resource availability play a critical role in shaping these outcomes. The study concludes that participatory leadership and a culture of collaboration enhance curriculum effectiveness and teacher character growth, while administrative rigidity and limited resources constrain innovation. Overall, the Independent Curriculum demonstrates flexibility, enabling diverse pathways to professional and character development among teachers across different school settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic role of leadership in implementing digital transformation at Pondok Pesantren Ash-Shiddiiqi in the era of globalization, focusing on the integration of Islamic values, adaptive and exemplary leadership, human resource capacity development, external collaboration, and strategic communication. The research employed a qualitative case study approach, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis to gain a comprehensive understanding of leadership practices and digitalization in the pesantren. The findings indicate that values-based leadership enables sustainable digitalization without compromising the identity of the pesantren, while adaptive and exemplary leadership enhances the collective capacity of teachers and staff through collaborative learning. Collaboration with alumni, government agencies, and other stakeholders strengthens resource support and institutional innovation, whereas transparent and Qur’anic principle-based communication effectively mitigates resistance to change. The integration of religious values, moral exemplarity, and technological adaptation creates a harmonization between digital innovation and spiritual orientation, reinforcing leadership legitimacy and ensuring the sustainability of the transformation. These findings contribute to the literature on transformational and adaptive leadership in Islamic education and provide practical guidance for other pesantren and Islamic educational institutions in managing digital transformation sustainably, aligned with institutional missions, and responsive to global challenges

Abstract

Driven by the need for a suitable module to facilitate the teaching of Pendidikan Aswaja dan Ke-NU-an subject, we have developed an electronic module (e-module) based on Merdeka Belajar curriculum. This module aims to enhance comprehension, memory retention and empower students to take a more self-directed approach to learning. The aim of Pendidikan Aswaja dan Ke-NU-an as local content subject is to safeguard students from radicalism, extremism, fanaticism and religious intolerance. The research methodology employed in this study is Research and Development (RnD) utilizing the 4D development model comprising four stages: Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The e-module incorporates learning outcomes and objectives aligned with Merdeka Belajar curriculum, along with interactive video links connected to the online platform such as YouTube. The results from pilot testing of these interactive e-modules in two sample classes yielded a commendable score of 79%, categorizing it as “fit for use.” The module’s utilization by 67 students across both classes demonstrated significant competency development in knowledge acquisition, comprehension, critical thinking and prevention from radical and extremist viewpoints. This can be seen from affective and cognitive assessments at school. Furthermore, the module effectively addresses epistemological challenges within the field of Aswaja and Ke-NU-an teaching, aligning with the historical evolution of these disciplines and local educational needs.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to identify and analyze how Early Childhood Education teachers in Jambi construct meanings and implement early childhood sex education through Jambi Malay local wisdom and Islamic values. Sex education for young children is positioned as a preventive, value-based effort to protect children from sexual violence while helping them develop developmentally appropriate understandings of the body and personal boundaries. A qualitative design focusing on teachers’ perceptions is used to capture their interpretations and practical considerations in delivering sexuality-related learning within PAUD settings grounded in culture and religion. This approach aligns with previous studies on PAUD educators’ knowledge and attitudes toward early childhood sex education, which emphasize the importance of teacher parent communication and sociocultural mediation in implementation. Data were collected from four teachers purposively selected from two PAUD institutions in Jambi and were analyzed thematically to build interpretive patterns, consistent with research that treats teachers’ perspectives as key to understanding how sex education is delivered and received in Islamic preschool contexts. The analysis produced two main findings: (1) teachers frame early childhood sex education as urgent for child protection and moral formation, interpreting modesty, privacy, and the principle of “adat bersendi syarak” (custom founded upon Islamic law) as a dynamic framework for age-appropriate learning, and (2) teachers operationalize this meaning through culturally relevant, child-friendly strategies such as storytelling, play-based learning routines, and habituation of boundary-setting. These findings indicate that values and norms are socialized through everyday practices and that culturally rooted media and traditional games can function as effective pedagogical vehicles in Early Childhood Education. The study implies that strengthening culturally responsive teacher competence and structured collaboration with parents is necessary to reduce misconceptions, improve message consistency, and sustain preventive impact.TRANSLATE with x EnglishArabicHebrewPolishBulgarianHindiPortugueseCatalanHmong DawRomanianChinese SimplifiedHungarianRussianChinese TraditionalIndonesianSlovakCzechItalianSlovenianDanishJapaneseSpanishDutchKlingonSwedishEnglishKoreanThaiEstonianLatvianTurkishFinnishLithuanianUkrainianFrenchMalayUrduGermanMalteseVietnameseGreekNorwegianWelshHaitian CreolePersian //  TRANSLATE with COPY THE URL BELOW Back EMBED THE SNIPPET BELOW IN YOUR SITE Enable collaborative features and customize widget: Bing Webmaster PortalBack//

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low interest and learning outcomes of students in Islamic Religious Education at SMK Negeri 8 Sarolangun, caused by the use of monotonous conventional lecture methods, particularly for complex marriage top-ics. The purpose of this study was to describe the integration of the Canva applica-tion in Islamic Religious Education learning, identify supporting and inhibiting fac-tors, and analyze its impact on the learning process of 11th-grade Accounting stu-dents. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with the Islamic Religious Education teacher and 11th-grade Accounting students. The results showed that the use of Canva was able to transform abstract marriage material into interactive and systematic visualizations. The main supporting factor was the accessibility of Canva's user-friendly features, while the main obstacle lay in the unstable internet connection at the school. The implementation of this media was proven effective in increasing student learning motivation and cognitive outcomes, as students be-came more active in constructing their understanding through creative design. In conclusion, the use of the Canva application is an effective pedagogical innovation in synergizing digital technology with religious material to create more dynamic and meaningful learning.

Abstract

This study examines how Muhammadiyah vocational schools in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, implement religious habituation programs to shape students’ re-ligiosity, moral character, and social attitudes through the formation of re-ligious habitus in everyday school life. Using a qualitative multiple-case study design, the research involved three Muhammadiyah vocational schools, with participants including school leaders, teachers, activity coordinators, and students. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed thematically using Bourdieu’s concepts of habitus, field, and capital. The findings indicate that habituation practices such as congregational prayer, kultum (short religious talks), and charitable activities play varying roles in shaping students’ religious dispositions. Practices that are structurally integrated into daily routines and supported by teacher role modeling tend to foster more consistent and internalized behaviors. In contrast, activities that rely heavily on supervision often result in formal participation without deep personal engagement. For instance, students continue prayer practices even without strict monitoring, while participation in kultum declines when supervision is reduced. Overall, the study demonstrates that religious habitus formation is not uniform but varies depending on the degree of institutional integration, symbolic reinforcement, and pedagogical support. These findings highlight the importance of aligning habituation programs with curriculum structures and reflective pedagogical strategies to promote students’ religious autonomy.
