Huma Betang is the name of Dayak Ngaju Houses at once but as a philosophy of Dayak Ngaju.  Huma Betang contains 100 - 150 people and is an extraordinary place for Dayak Ngaju people because they do all their social activities as a family and as a part of society in this place. Elderly people in Huma Betang teach their Children about culture or tradition, beliefs, norms, etc in Huma Betang. This fact gives ample opportunity for Christian Education since Christianity became the majority religion in Dayak Ngaju to teach the Dayak Ngaju People Group about faith in Christ. This article uses the qualitative descriptive method to describe how Dayak Ngaju people's psychosocial condition can give them a big opportunity to implement Christian education in their families, especially in the Huma Betang context. This research can help in developing an appropriate psychosocial approach model for implementing Christian religious education among Ngaju Dayak families. This involves understanding how individual and group psychology in Ngaju Dayak society influences the acceptance and effectiveness of Christian religious education.

Abstract

Animal food consumption, especially fish consumption in Indonesia, is relatively low. In general, it can be seen that the difference in consumption behavior with demand depends not only on prices and total expenditure but also on some household characteristics. This study aims to determine the influence of the education level of homemakers on fish consumption in Indonesia. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from IFLS (Indonesian Family Life Survey) wave 4 of 2007 and wave 5 of 2014, as well as data from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries using a panel data regression model. The primary independent variable in this study was the education level of homemakers, and independent variables were added, which included age, income, location of residence, marital status, and gender of the head of the household. The dependent variable in this study is fish consumption expenditure. The results of the study found that the education level of homemakers, based on the length of schooling, is at a significance level of 5 percent, which affects household fish consumption expenditure in Indonesia. Every increase in the education level of homemakers by one year can increase the average household fish consumption in Indonesia by 6.0 percent. Fish products are consumed more by urban communities than by rural communities. The paper contributes to the academic literature on household consumption behavior and its determinants. Focusing on the specific context of Indonesia and examining the role of housewives' education levels enriches our understanding of the complex interplay between education, gender, and dietary choices.

Abstract

Dodol Betawi is a specialty food processed by the Betawi people and is one of the archipelago's culinary delights that should be preserved. Dodol Betawi is in great demand by the public, not only from the Betawi tribe of Jakarta but also from people in other regions. The Covid-19 pandemic has devastated the entire small home-based business sector, which is still conservative. In addition, the progress of modern times has also contributed to the decline in Dodol Betawi's competitiveness in the current culinary market. This research was conducted to find the strategy of traditional processed food amid increasingly competitive modern processed food business competition as a study material in developing local wisdom-based entrepreneurship. This research was conducted using qualitative methods through a case study approach. Data collection was done through observation and interviews. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that Dodol Betawi, before the pandemic, was generally used for Betawi community celebrations. This is exacerbated by the competition of various types of processed foods sold online, making Bu Amsah's Dodol Betawi producers experience a drastic decline and even difficulty competing.

Abstract

This study examines the key factors influencing income diversification among smallholder sweet potato farmers in Greater Tzaneen Local Municipality, South Africa. Income diversification is crucial for improving farmers' livelihoods and reducing economic vulnerability. A purposive sampling method identified 109 smallholder farmers, and data collection was conducted using semi-structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistics provided insights into farmers' demographic characteristics, while a binary logistic regression model assessed the impact of various socio-economic factors on income diversification. The results reveal that the average age of farmers is 43 years, with nine years of farming experience on average. The regression analysis indicates that age, distance to market, and education level significantly influence farmers' likelihood of diversifying their income sources. Younger farmers are more inclined towards diversification, while those farther from markets are more likely to seek alternative income opportunities. The findings suggest that providing targeted training and enhancing access to non-farm income opportunities can promote income diversification, particularly for younger farmers. This study contributes to understanding how socio-economic factors shape income diversification decisions, offering insights for policymakers aiming to support smallholder farmers' economic resilience.

Abstract

The abuse of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and addictive substances in Indonesia, especially in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), has reached an alarming level. According to data from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the number of cases and the seizure of narcotics evidence in DIY shows significant fluctuations each year, with the majority of abuse victims being male students aged 15-64 years. Bidayatussalikin Islamic Boarding School plays an important role in assisting teenagers who are victims of narcotics abuse in DIY. This research aims to identify the therapy and rehabilitation methods implemented by Bidayatussalikin Islamic Boarding School for these victims. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, involving musyrif, counselors, and students as research subjects. The results indicate that the Sufi approach, including takhalli (self-cleansing), tahalli (self-filling), and tajalli (self-control development), is applied as a therapy and rehabilitation method, and has proven to have a positive impact on former students who are victims of narcotics abuse, both physically, psychologically, and psychomotorically. This success is also supported by community participation and cooperation with government agencies. This research contributes by highlighting the importance of a spiritual approach in the rehabilitation of narcotics abuse victims and the role of Islamic boarding schools as effective rehabilitation centers

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum Policy is a strategic step in Indonesia's educational reform, and this study is a collaborative effort to understand its implementation at the Senior High School (SMA) level. We aim to conduct an in-depth analysis, with particular attention to the process of understanding, application, and its impact on teaching and learning activities. The research employs a qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as field observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The primary respondents are teachers, students, and school staff actively involved in the policy implementation, making this a truly inclusive and comprehensive study. The findings reveal that implementing the Merdeka Curriculum Policy in high schools faces challenges, such as inconsistent understanding of the policy among teachers, the need for ongoing training to enhance teacher competencies, and infrastructure limitations that hinder optimal application. Nevertheless, notable successes include increased creativity in learning, active student engagement in learning processes, and the emergence of innovations in teaching methods. Further analysis indicates that active teacher participation and managerial support from the school are critical success factors in implementing this policy. This research is not just an academic exercise but a practical guide for the development of educational policies. By providing insights into the challenges and opportunities of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, we aim to empower policymakers with the knowledge to design more effective implementation strategies. This study also serves as a beacon of hope for other schools facing similar situations, offering practical guidance and enriching the academic literature on the dynamics of educational policy in Indonesia, particularly at the high school level.

Abstract

Learning in the new average era presents challenges and opportunities, particularly in implementing blended learning in teaching and learning processes. This study aims to analyze the effect of blended learning implementation on students' learning outcomes in history education at SMA Negeri 89 Jakarta and evaluate its effectiveness in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. The research employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation to measure the relationships between variables and simple linear regression to determine the impact. The results show a significant positive effect of blended learning implementation on students' learning outcomes. A correlation value of 0.345 supports this finding, with a simple linear regression test indicating that the calculated r-value (3.446) exceeds the table r-value (1.987), thus accepting the alternative hypothesis. Students' cognitive and psychomotor aspects showed significant improvement, with an average score of 87. In contrast, the affective aspect, encompassing spiritual and social attitudes, reflected good behaviour among grade XI social studies students. These findings affirm that blended learning effectively improves students' learning outcomes by integrating technology with traditional approaches. The strength of blended learning lies in its flexibility and potential to create interactive and immersive learning experiences. This study provides significant insights, emphasizing the crucial role of educators and education policymakers in adopting innovative learning strategies to enhance the quality of education in the digital era.
