Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in learning outcomes and student engagement between the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and the Discovery Learning (DL) model supported by learning videos, as well as to identify the relationship between these factors in the context of redox reactions at MAS Muallimin Univa Medan. The sample consists of two classes randomly selected from the Class X MIA population: the PBL class (X MIA 2) and the DL class (X MIA 3). The research instruments included a multiple-choice test with 20 valid and reliable questions to assess learning outcomes and an observation sheet to evaluate student engagement. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-tests. Results indicated that the PBL class had lower scores in both engagement and learning outcomes compared to the DL class. Statistical analysis revealed significant differences in engagement and learning outcomes (α < 0.05), with a positive correlation between student engagement and learning outcomes. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in learning outcomes and engagement between the two models, as well as a significant relationship between student activity and learning success, with contribution rates for engagement reaching 64.3% and 24.9%.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Learning Activities, Problem Based Learning, Discovery Learning, Learning Videos¸ Redox Reactions.DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v13.i3.30701

Abstract

Differences in Learning Outcomes and Student Activities Taught Using Project Based Learning and Discovery Learning Models on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solution Materials. This research aims to find out whether there are differences in learning outcomes and learning activities for students who are taught using project based learning and discovery learning. The sample in this research was students of class X IPA 1 as experimental class 1 and X IPA 2 as experimental class 2. This research used quantitative research methods. The data taken in this research are student learning outcomes collected through student posttest scores to measure student learning outcomes and student learning activity observation sheets to measure student activity during the learning process. However, before testing the hypothesis, prerequisite tests are carried out, namely homogeneity and normality tests. The research results showed that there were differences in learning outcomes and student learning activities between experimental class 1 which was taught by implementing PjBL modeling compared to experimental class 2 which was taught by implementing DL modeling. Evidence of this can be given referring to the mean value of learning outcomes for experimental class 1 students which is higher than experimental class 2. Likewise, the learning activities of experimental class 1 students are higher than experimental class 2. From the results of the hypothesis test, using the t test it was found that the significance value smaller than 0.00 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Keywords : Learning outcomes, student learning activities, Problem Based Learning, Discovery Learning. Doi: 10.23960/jppk.v13i2.30054

Abstract

Abstract : The aim of the HKSA and Docking analysis was to determine the potential of curcumin analogues as antioxidants for the activity of the tyrosinase enzyme. Predictor calculations were carried out using the hyperchem application with the CNDO semi-empirical geometric optimization method Multilinear regression analysis using SPSS to find the relationship between predictors and the activity of curcumin analogue derivative compounds as tyrosinase inhibitors. The best HKSA equation model is : LogIC50  : -3.195 – (1.135 x HOMO) + (1.064 x LUMO) - (0.239 x LogP) + (0.155 x HE) With a value of R = 0,984; R2 = 0,969; Adj R2 = 0,948; SE = 0,183; F count  = 10,209; Sign = 0,000. This equation is used to predict new compounds derived from curcumin analogs that can be used as new tyrosinase inhibitors. The parameters for selecting this compound were because it had better activity and LogIC50 values compared to the parent compound. To see the affinity between the new curcumin analogue derivative compound and the tyrosinase enzyme, docking was carried out using Autodock Tools, which was visualized using Biovia discovery studio. The docking results show that the compound 2,5-bis (4-hydroxy 3-allyl benzylidene) cyclopentanone has potential inhibitory activity on the tyrosinase receptor as an antioxidant activity because it has the same amino acid residue as the original ligand (Tyrosine) with the binding energy of the compound 2,5- bis (4-hydroxy 3-allylbenzylidene) cyclopentanone is -5.92 kcal/mol and the Ki value is 46.03 uM, which is better than the binding energy of the compound (Tyrosine) which is -4.96 kcal/mol and the Ki value is 231.77 uM.Keywords: Curcumin, Tyrosinase, Antioxidant, QSAR, Docking DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v13i2.30560

Abstract

After the pandemic, learning was again carried out offline, making students feel anxious and worried about the assignments given by the lecturers. Students' ability to manage time-related to self-discipline is needed during the transition from online to offline learning. This study aims to measure the level of post-pandemic student academic procrastination or delay based on a gender perspective. Gender analysis is crucial because men have synonymously carried out academic delays, so this research needs to be done. This study used a quantitative approach through a cross-sectional exploratory study involving comparative and correlation analysis. ‎ The population of this study was students of chemistry education at UIN Walisongo Semarang: semester 1, semester 3, and semester 5. The results showed no significant difference in academic Procrastination between male and female students (p > 0.05). The absence of this difference can be due to factors that influence individual development, such as physical, psychological development and social roles, so Procrastination is not determined by gender. DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v12.3.2023.07
