Abstract

There are many studies discussing the development of interactive electronic modules, but only a few integrate them using Augmented Reality and local culture. This study aims to develop a valid and practical interactive E-Module using Augmented Reality technology with the context of Jambi's local cultural wisdom as an alternative interesting teaching material to visualize a concept in increasing understanding related to the structure of an object that is relevant to everyday life. The research was developed with 4D stages (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Data collection was carried out using expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaire sheets and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the developed e-module is valid and practical. The results of media and material validation at the expert validation stage showed results of 96.86% and 93.75% that the e-module has been valid and very well developed. Practicality is seen at the small group stage (3 high-ability students, 3 medium-ability students and 3 low-ability students) which gave results of 85.415% so that the e-module is practical and categorized as very good. Furthermore, the field test (17 students) provided a descriptively positive response to the developed electronic module. This research also impacts the process of transforming culture into a learning medium, providing solutions for cultural preservation in the digital age, and fostering positive energy between education, culture, and the use of technology in learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking is increasingly important with the existence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) especially for college students. AI is not yet fully accurate in solving mathematical problems, so critical thinking helps students analyze and evaluate its answers. This study aims to enhance students’ critical thinking using PBL (Problem-Based Learning) with ChatGPT and GeoGebra. This quasi-experimental study with the pretest-post-test non-equivalent group design involved 47 subjects, 24 in the experimental group and 23 in the control group. The average pre-test and post-test of experimental (47.96 and 62.13) and control (55.48 and 54.26) groups were significantly different. The ANCOVA results showed that PBL with ChatGPT and GeoGebra significantly enhanced students’ critical thinking. Tukey’s test result showed that the difference between the experimental and control group was 14.88 which indicated that students’ critical thinking in the experimental group was higher than the control group. Furthermore, the treatment did not affect identify indicator, but had a positive effect on justify, inference, clarify, and strategy decision indicators. This demonstrates that PBL assisted by ChatGPT and GeoGebra enhances students’ critical thinking. The research has the potential to support lecturers in enhancing students’ critical thinking and improving innovative learning models where AI can be used in education with proper guidance and implications.Berpikir kritis semakin penting dengan adanya kecerdasan buatan (AI) khususnya bagi mahasiswa. AI belum sepenuhnya akurat dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, sehingga berpikir kritis membantu mahasiswa menganalisis dan mengevaluasi jawabannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan PBL berbantuan ChatGPT dan GeoGebra dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika pada semester 4. Sampel penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster sampling dengan penentuan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol secara acak. Penelitian kuasi-eksperimen ini dengan desain pretest-post-test non-equivalent group melibatkan 47 subjek, 24 pada kelompok eksperimen dan 23 pada kelompok kontrol. Rata-rata pre-test dan post-test kelompok eksperimen (47,96 dan 62,13) dan kontrol (55,48 dan 54,26) berbeda secara signifikan. Hasil ANCOVA menunjukkan bahwa PBL dengan ChatGPT dan GeoGebra secara signifikan meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Hasil uji Tukey menunjukkan perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 14,88 yang mengindikasikan bahwa berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Selain itu, perlakuan tidak berpengaruh pada indikator identify, tetapi memberikan pengaruh positif pada indikator justify, inference, clarify, dan strategy decision. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa PBL yang dibantu oleh ChatGPT dan GeoGebra meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini berpotensi mendukung dosen dalam meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dan memperbaiki model pembelajaran inovatif di mana AI dapat digunakan dalam pendidikan dengan bimbingan dan implikasi yang tepat.

Abstract

Asessment has a crucial role in the learning process, especially for the students’ literacy and numeracy ability. Currently, the Indonesian students’ literacy and numeracy and critical thinking are still very low according to the data of PISA 2023. The aim of the research is to develop STEAM based assessment model, abbreviated as SLNA, to improve literacy and numeracy and critical thinking ability at junior high school level. The type of the research applies research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model at SMPN 3 Mojokerto. The research results manifested that the expert validation had an average of 3,33 with a very valid category while practicality could be seen from the results of students’ responses of 89,5% who strongly agreed and teachers’ responses of 76% who stated that they were very practical. The effectiveness could be seen from the results of the activities, motivation, and students’ learning outcomes where the students’ motivation results were 90,7% which stated that they strongly agreed that SLNA provided motivation in learning and the average students’ learning outcomes were 82,4. The results confirm that the SLNA model is an effective assessment to support in developing students’ literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking in their learning and project practice.

Abstract

Era society 5.0 melakukan transformasi pendidikan dengan penerapan teknologi yang berkembang pesat untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Penggunaan teknologi, terutama pembelajaran Geogebra, menjadi krusial untuk mendukung minat dan motivasi belajar siswa. Model Discovery learning juga diakui efektif dalam mendukung siswa yang matematis, berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, dan mandiri. Penelitian ini fokus pada pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis Geogebra Classroom berorientasi discovery learning terhadap materi barisan dan deret aritmatika untuk siswa SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas XI SMA dan dilaksanakan dalam dua pertemuan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar validasi dan angket. Tahapan penelitian mencakup analisis kebutuhan, perancangan media pembelajaran, pengembangan media, implementasi media berbasis discovery learning, dan evaluasi penggunaan media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Geogebra Classroom berorientasi discovery learning dinyatakan valid dengan persentase 89,17% dalam kategori sangat valid dan dinyatakan praktis dengan persentase 90,61% dalam kategori sangat praktis. Selain itu, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran ini valid dan praktis dalam mendukung siswa untuk belajar secara mandiri, sehingga siswa dapat memahami konsep barisan dan deret aritmatika dengan lebih baik dan mendalam.

Abstract

Integrated Hybrid Learning Development Research aims to develop Integrated Hybrid Learning, Active, Simple, and Collaborative, abbreviated as LMS Phytagoras, based on TERPADU (Telaah, Eksplorasi, Rumuskan, Presentasikan, Aplikasikan, Duniawi, dan Ukhrowi) as a means to strengthen numeracy skills with valid and effective criteria. The subjects of this study were third-semester students of Mathematics Education at Wiralodra University, specifically in the selected topics course of secondary mathematics education. The type of research utilized in this study is Research and Development (R&D). The design model used is the ADDIE type. The data collection instruments include validation sheets, tests, and questionnaires. During the validation process, LMS Phytagoras was validated by three expert validators with medium validity criteria. LMS Phytagoras was implemented by 7 students, resulting in medium effectiveness of learning as determined by pretest and posttest results using the n-gain test. LMS Phytagoras received positive responses from students in TERPADU-based learning.

Abstract

Materi Pecahan telah dipelajari sejak pendidikan dasar, khususnya Fase A. Namun, masih ditemukan adanya miskonsepsi terhadap representasi bilangan pecahan pada siswa sekolah dasar. Di sisi lain, Function Card-First Fraction Series diklaim sebagai media permainan yang didesain dengan tujuan untuk melatih kemampuan dan kreativitas siswa dalam materi representasi pecahan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh Function Card-First Fraction Series terhadap kemampuan dan kreativitas siswa SD dalam merepresentasikan bilangan pecahan. Penelitian kuantitatif jenis quasi experiment ini menggunakan desain One-Group Pretest Posttest Design. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes dengan intrumen berupa tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan dan kreativitas siswa dalam merepresentasikan pecahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Function Card-First Fraction Series secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan kreativitas siswa SD dalam representasi pecahan menjadi lebih baik. Peningkatan signifikan pada aspek kreativitas terlihat dari unsur fluency, flexibility, dan originality. Berdasarkan simpulan tersebut, maka disarankan bagi guru untuk menggunakan media Function Card-First Fraction Series sebagai upaya dalam memfasilitasi siswa belajar representasi bilangan pecahan agar tidak hanya mampu namun juga memiliki kreativitas dalam merepresentasikan bilangan pecahan.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis sangat penting karena dapat membantu memecahkan masalah sehari-hari dan memahami materi matematika. Observasi awal yang dilakukan di SMPN 1 Mungka, SMPN 2 Guguak, dan SMPN 1 Akabiluru mengungkapkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik masih rendah. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan permasalahan ini adalah belum tersedianya perangkat pembelajaran yang dirancang secara khusus untuk mendukung pengembangan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan modul ajar serta LKPD berbasis kearifan lokal Kota Payakumbuh guna meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik kelas VII SMP. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model prump, yang terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu investigasi awal, pengembangan, dan penilaian. Kualitas modul ajar dan LKPD dinilai berdasarkan tiga aspek utama yaitu validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan berbagai instrumen, seperti lembar observasi, lembar validasi, angket, pedoman wawancara, serta tes kemampuan untuk mengukur kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata validitas modul terbuka mencapai 0,87 dengan kategori sangat valid, sementara LKPD memperoleh rata-rata validitas 0,84 dengan kategori yang sama. Dari segi kepraktisan modul terbuka dan LKPD dengan kategori sangat praktis dengan skor masing-masing 92% dan 91%. Selain itu, perangkat pembelajaran ini efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah menggunakan modul ajar dan LKPD. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul ajar dan LKPD matematika berbasis kearifan lokal Kota Payakumbuh yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria sebagai perangkat pembelajaran yang valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy may be described as the capacity of an individual to comprehend, mobilize, and communicate mathematical reasoning across diverse life situations in order to resolve problems meaningfully. One instructional approach frequently associated with strengthening this competence is Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which situates students within authentic problem scenarios and compels active reasoning engagement rather than passive reception. The present inquiry intends to explore and portray students’ mathematical literacy achievement through E-Module-supported PBL, interpreted through the stratification of students’ curiosity levels. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. This study analyzes and describes students’ mathematical literacy abilities based on categories of student curiosity. The research subjects involved 10th-grade PM 2 students at SMKN 1 Kendal for the 2024/2025 academic year. Empirical findings indicate that learners categorized with elevated curiosity demonstrate mastery across all mathematical literacy indicators, whereas those within moderate and low curiosity tiers exhibit constraints particularly during interpretation and evaluative stages of solution processes. These results accentuate the salience of affective disposition especially curiosity in maximizing mathematical literacy within problem-based environments.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the geometric shapes and structures found in the Uma Lengge traditional house with a qualitative approach based on the ethnographic model. This research was conducted in Maria Village, Wawo Sub-district, which was chosen because of the existence of the Uma Lengge traditional house and its role in cultural preservation and the development of the tourism sector. The problem raised in this research is the lack of studies linking the architectural design of Uma Lengge with mathematical concepts, especially within the framework of ethnomathematics, which has the potential to provide new insights into the relationship between culture and science. Respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique, including custodians, cultural experts, and conservationists who have in-depth knowledge of the history and construction of Uma Lengge. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, literature study, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and verification to ensure the validity and reliability of research findings. The results show that the architectural design of Uma Lengge combines geometric concepts in flat and spatial shapes, including patterns of triangles, squares, rectangles, triangular prisms, cubes, blocks, and pyramid frustums. These geometric structures not only reflect beauty and function, but also reflect local wisdom in the use of traditional mathematical concepts. This research makes an important contribution in expanding the understanding of ethnomathematics as part of cultural heritage that can be integrated into the mathematics learning process. It is recommended to conduct more comprehensive follow-up research on the application of other mathematical concepts, as well as develop ethnomathematics-based learning modules to increase students' appreciation of mathematics in a cultural context.

Abstract

Students’ Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability (MCTA) remains relatively low, particularly in generating original ideas and elaborated solutions, while the effect of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) on MCTA has not been clearly identified in mathematics learning. This condition indicates the need for an instructional model that not only emphasizes problem-solving processes but also supports students’ independence and creativity in learning. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of the LAPS-Heuristic learning model on students’ MCTA and describe students' MCTA concerning their SRL. A mixed-methods approach utilizing a sequential explanatory design was employed in this study. Six subjects were selected from the eighth-grade class VIII A at State Junior High School 1 Tayu, chosen based on their SRL levels. The results indicate that (1) the LAPS-Heuristic learning model effectively on students' MCTA in the context of their SRL, and (2) Students classified as having high SRL were able to fulfill all MCTA indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. In comparison, students with moderate SRL levels achieved three indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, and elaboration. Students with low SRL levels were only able to meet two indicators, namely fluency and flexibility. For students with low SRL who have not yet achieved proficiency in originality and elaboration, it is recommended that they engage in independent assignments and participate in peer teaching activities to foster their academic development. Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis (KBKM) siswa masih tergolong rendah, khususnya dalam menghasilkan ide-ide yang orisinal dan solusi yang terelaborasi, sementara pengaruh Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) terhadap KBKM dalam pembelajaran matematika belum teridentifikasi secara jelas. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya model pembelajaran yang tidak hanya menekankan pada proses pemecahan masalah, tetapi juga mendukung kemandirian dan kreativitas siswa dalam belajar.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keefektifan pembelajaran LAPS-Heuristik terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis (KBKM) dan mendeskripsikan KBKM siswa ditinjau dari SRL. Metode penelitian ini adalah mixed method dengan sequential explanatory. Enam subjek dipilih dari kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 1 Tayu berdasarkan tingkat SRL siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) model pembelajaran LAPS-Heuristik efektif terhadap KBKM siswa ditinjau dari SRL, dan (2) siswa yang dikategorikan dengan SRL tinggi mampu memenuhi semua indikator KBKM: kelancaran, fleksibilitas, orisinalitas, dan elaborasi. Sebaliknya, siswa dengan tingkat SRL rata-rata mencapai tiga indikator: kelancaran, fleksibilitas, dan elaborasi. Sementara itu, siswa dengan SRL rendah hanya memenuhi indikator kelancaran dan fleksibilitas. Bagi siswa yang diidentifikasi memiliki SRL rendah yang belum mencapai indikator orisinalitas dan elaborasi, disarankan agar siswa terlibat dalam tugas mandiri dan berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan peer teaching untuk mendorong perkembangan akademis siswa.Â
