Abstract

There is a difference between the final goal of conventional economics and Islamic economics. This difference is about intertemporal consumption. In conventional economics, every human being trying to meet the needs through consumption activities. It is known as the term “intertemporal consumption”. Intertemporal consumption is the consumption activities which are carried out in two periods, both present and future. Income (Y) obtained by a person is the sum of consumption (C) and savings (S) which is written in a mathematical function Y = C + S. However, in Islamic economics is known the term ”inheritance” which is the income of someone unused until someone dies thus distributed to the heirs. Thus, a person's income in Islamic economics is not just an accumulation of consumption (present and future) and savings, but also inheritance which is an instrument of wealth distribution to the heirs after death. This a literature study. And this research tries to explain the difference between inheritance as part of intertemporal consumption in Islamic economics perspective and intertemporal consumption in conventional economics perspective. From this research about inheritance and intertemporal consumption, we will know more clearly about the fundamental difference from conventional economics and Islamic economics. Keywords: Inheritance, Intertemporal Consumption, Islamic Economics, Conventional Economics

Therefore, this local wisdom-based research tries to investigate the relationship between the socio-cultural life of people inhibiting at the foot of Kelud Volcano and the disaster mitigation. The inhabitants of Sugihwaras Village who live within 10 km radius from the peak of Kelud are assumed as a “disaster-aware” community that becomes a valuable source of the local wisdom. The ethnography approach was stressed on the cultural tradition of the people of Sugihwaras that was observed directly from participation during traditional events, especially rituals. The rediscovery of the local wisdom in a traditional effort of disaster mitigation as the main goal of the research is expected to give contributions to good governance. Abstract

Multicultural reality of Indonesian society has encouraged many conflicts. Many people have tried to create a multicultural atmosphere. The scholars, politicians, and security forces attempted in their respective fields there are theoretical, ideal, and practical. This approach of simple ethnography research at Kudus reveals the unique role of these sweet soya sauces or ketchups. That is, it is not just being a condiment for flavoring the Kudus people dishes, but also already act as multicultural learning media. The good cooperation between the two ethnic groups, the Chinese as the owner of ketchup industries and their Javanese workers, clients, and customers have shown that these Ketchups has become one of the unifying elements that are commonly depicted always in a conflict; and  the latest event clashes between Chinese and pribumi at Kudus was in 1984. Thus, by looking at the Ketchups roles, this research shown that the ketchup industries in Kudus have melted the tongue and heart of Kudus people (China-Native) taste in a delicious thickened of ketchup liquid that always served at home, food-stalls, hotels, and restaurants. Keywords: Sweet Soya Sauces , Ketchup,  Media, Multiculturalism Learning, Kudus

Abstract

Profit optimization became one of the main goals of the production process of home industry. A maximum profit can be achieved with proper planning of production. In the process of implementation, production planning has many constraints such as lot sizing, limited stock, overtime work and the many products derived from the same source. To address the problem, we develop computer software using a heuristic method called evolution strategy (ES). ES has capability to solve optimization problems with nearly optimal results. The result of the calculation process of evolution strategy algorithm was compared with data from the source. Computational analysis shows that ES produces a production plan that has profit of Rp 5,324,000. It is bigger than manual production plan that has profit of Rp 2,747,000. Keywords: home industry, profit, optimization, production, evolution strategies

Good governance is a method to organize resources by involving the local community to participate and to supervise the development of the country. Good governance in tourism ensures that the industry can involve and benefit the local community.  This paper aims to investigate the policies and practice of good governance in Indonesian tourism using the city of Malang in East Java as a case study. This is done by: (1) a study on the Regulation of the Major of Malang on the Master Plan of the Development of Regional Tourism no. 34 year 2014 and (2) field observations in the city of Malang. The research shows that the regulation has fulfilled six characteristics of good governance: participation, consensus oriented, equity and inclusiveness, effectiveness and efficiency, and accountability but fails to fulfill the three criteria of good governance: the rule of law, the transparency and the responsiveness. On the other hand, on the practices of the good governance, the city government lacks communication with the stakeholders and it is advisable that the city government set this forum in the near future to discuss the solutions to better tourism in Malang. Keywords: Good governance, tourism, Indonesia, Malang
