Abstract

In this millennial era, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is regarded as an important theme in education. The theme has emerged in all learning activities as it enables students to use critical thinking in their problem-solving. HOTS cannot be separated from Bloom’s Taxonomy. HOTS is important to be integrated with classes in diverse school settings. Therefore, the aim of this research is to draw the implementation of HOTS through Lesson Study. The research was conducted in one of the Islamic schools in south Thailand. The school is an Islamic Boarding School that integrates Islamic values in its learning and teaching process. Based on a preliminary interview with the school administrator, the students are coming from different economical backgrounds. As the consequence, they have a different level of cognitive and linguistic competence. Moreover, the present research was utilized a qualitative approach to describe the implementation of HOTS through Lesson Study. To acquire adequate data, participatory observation, Focused group discussion (FGD), and document analysis were used as the research instrument. The result shows that HOTS in this school in several activities such as game competitions, group discussion, and roleplay. It can guide students to expose their English skills

Abstract

Empowering students’ metacognitive awareness is among the 21st century learning strategies. This research aims to determine the profile of students’ metacognitive awareness in Biology subject through the implementation of Cooperative Script (CS) modification strategy combined with Hybrid-PjBl. It employed quantitative method with the participants of students from XI IPA SMA 5 Malang. The instrument for data collection was Metacognitive Awareness Inventory, with descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment as data analysis techniques. Results show that 20% of students’ metacognitive awareness was in the “very good” category; 40% of students in the “good” category; while the remaining 40% were in the “fair” category. Based on more detailed analyses, one component of metacognition is classified as “fair”, six components are classified as “good”, while the rest is classified as “very good”. Most metacognition components are correlated with each other. These findings indicate that Biology learning with CS modification combined with Hybrid-PjBL potentially empowers students’ metacognitive awareness.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu faktor yang mengakibatkan keterampilan menulis siswa menurun adalah kejenuhan pada saat menulis. Salah satu pembelajaran menulis yang harus dikuasai peserta didik adalah menulis puisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kualitas proses pembelajaran menulis puisi menggunakan model bengkel sastra melalui media kotak gambar ajaib dan (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan menulis puisi menggunakan model bengkel sastra melalui media kotak gambar ajaib. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 4 Purwokerto. Pelaksanaan siklus terdiri atas perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, analisis dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dengan ketuntasan sesuai dengan kriteria yang telah ditetapkan, yaitu ≥70. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas proses selama dua siklus dilihat dari aspek keaktifan, perhatian, dan keterlaksanaan peserta didik.  Aspek keaktifan peserta didik ditinjau saat bertanya kepada guru dan peserta didik lain, terlibat dalam pemecahan masalah, melaksanakan tugas belajar, dan melaksanakan diskusi kelompok sesuai dengan petunjuk dalam proses pembelajaran sudah baik. Perhatian peserta didik dilihat ditinjau saat peserta didik memperhatikan penjelasan yang disampaikan guru. Kemudian, keterlaksanaan peserta didik ditinjau saat dalam memahami dan mengikuti petunjuk yang diberikan guru, turut serta melakukan kegiatan belajar, tugas-tugas dapat diselesaikan, memanfaatkan semua sumber belajar, dan menguasai tujuan-tujuan pembelajaran yang telah ditetapkan guru. keaktifan peserta didik sebesar 65% dan 78%, perhatian peserta didik sebesar 68% dan 80%, dan keterlaksanaan peserta didik sebesar 69% dan 81%. Peningkatan kemampuan menulis puisi peserta didik dapat dibuktikkan dari nilai rata-rata siklus I sebesar 69,81 dan siklus II sebesar 79,59. Dengan demikian, penerapan model bengkel sastra dapat meningkatkan kualitas proses dan kemampuan menulis puisi peserta didik kelas VII A SMP Negeri 4 Purwokerto.Kata Kunci: Model Bengkel Sastra; Puisi; Media Kotak Gambar Ajaib. ABSTRACTThis research aimed to (1) described the improvement of the quality of the learning process of writing poetry using literary workshop models through the magic picture box media and (2) described the improvement of the ability to write poetry using literary workshop models through the magic picture box media. This class action research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Purwokerto. The implementation cycle consisted of action planning, action implementation, observation, analysis, and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles with completeness in accordance with predetermined criteria, scored ≥70. The results of this research indicate an increase in the quality of the process for two cycles seen from the aspects of activeness, attention, and implementation of students. The activeness aspects of students were reviewed on the good process of asking teachers and other students, engaging in problem-solving, carrying out learning tasks, and carrying out group discussions in accordance with the instructions in the learning process. The attention of students was seen on students pay attention to the explanation given by the teacher. Then, the performance of students was reviewed when understanding and following the instructions given by the teacher, participating in learning activities, task completion, utilizing all learning resources, and mastering the learning goals set by the teacher. student activeness by 65% to 78%, attention of students by 68% to 80%, and student performance by 69% to 81%. The improvement of students' poetry writing abilities can be proven from the average score of the first cycle of 69.81 to the second cycle of 79.59. Thus, the application of the literature workshop model can improve the quality of the process and the ability to write poetry for grade VII A students of SMP Negeri 4 Purwokerto. Keywords: Literary Workshop Model; Writing Poetry; Magic Picture Box Media.

Abstract

The main task of the teacher in the learning process is to lead participants to achieve their learning goals. Thus, teachers are required to always improve the quality of their learning, one of which is through the Lesson Study Learning Community (LS-LC). The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of the Lesson Study Learning Community in SD (Sekolah Dasar-Primary School) Junrejo I, in “the 24-hour clock” material. This qualitative research employed a single case study and explained it naturally. The respondents were one teacher and 28-second graders. There were three stages in the implementation of lesson study, namely: plan, do and see. The data collection technique were using documentation and unstructured interview. The data were analyzed in a quantitative and qualitative description. The findings in the planned activity were the collaboration of teachers and lecturers in innovating and creating chapter and lesson design of “the 24-hour clock” material, considering the characteristic of students. In the open class (do the activity), the students were conducting discussions and observations. During learning, the students were comparing digital and non-digital clocks while lecturers and teachers were observing the learning process. In the seen activity, the observation result from teachers and lecturers were revealed. The implementation of Lesson Study Learning Community in grade II SD Junrejo I, on the material "24 hour time" had been going well. But the results shown that students were able to understand the material as much as 60%, students were able to collaborate in groups 45%, student’s expression was happy, excited, motivating, and cheerful, as much as 90%. Abstract

Penulisan ini dilatar belakangi oleh pola pembelajaran yang ditekankan saat ini selain menuntut pembelajaran yang mengedepankan kemampuan berpikir kritis juga pembelajaran harus menggunakan pendekatan saintifik. Kebanyakan peserta didik menganggap bahwa materi fisika terutama subkonsep kalor adalah materi abstrak. Untuk itu, perlu ada aplikasi dalam pembelajaran yaitu dengan mengaplikasikan model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD agar peserta didik dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sainsnya. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan aplikasi model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains pada materi kalor. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini yaitu dengan studi kepustakaan dengan mengkaji beberapa literatur untuk dianalisis dan dibuat kesimpulan. Hasil penulisan menunjukkan bahwa model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD untuk peserta didik dapat menjadi solusi dari permasalahan yang ditemui dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik di kelas. Model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan LKPD diaplikasikan kepada peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Atas dengan beberapa langkah antara lain; peserta didik diberikan masalah untuk dipecahkan, masalah diberikan dalam bentuk LKPD, selanjutnya melakukan proses analisis dan diskusi untuk menemukan solusi dari masalah yang ditemukan, setelah itu peserta didik melakukan presentasi kepada kelompok lain dengan LKPD yang sudah di isi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsug. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran dengan model inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik di kelas Kata Kunci: Inkuiri terbimbing, LKPD, Keterampilan proses sains ABSTRACT This article was based on the learning patterns that are emphasized at present, apart from demanding learning that prioritizes critical thinking skills, learning must also use a scientific approach. Most students consider that Physics, especially the sub-concept of heat, is an abstract material. For this reason, there was a need for an application in learning, namely by applying a guided inquiry model assisted by LKPD so that students can improve their science process skills. The purpose of this research was to describe the application of the guided inquiry model assisted by LKPD to improve science process skills in heat material. The method used in this writing is literature study by reviewing some of the literature to be analyzed and made conclusions. The results of the writing show that the guided inquiry model assisted by LKPD for students can be a solution to the problems encountered in improving the science process skills of students in the classroom. The LKPD-assisted guided inquiry model was applied to students in Senior High Schools with several steps, among others; students were given problems to solve, problems were given in the form of LKPD, then carried out a process of analysis and discussion to find solutions to the problems found, after that students made presentations to other groups with LKPD that have been filled during the learning process. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a valid, practical, and effective practicum-based learning tool on MRL subjects with the Magnetic Circuit material in SMKN 1 Padang consisting of RPP and LKS. This type of research is development research using a 4-D development model consisting of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and analyzing. The respondents of this study were students of class X TDTL-B SMKN 1 Padang consisting of 29 students. The results of data analysis obtained from the developed learning tools are categorized valid with the level of validity of the RPP and LKS are 85.42% and 87.50%. Learning Tools developed are categorized as practical with the practicality of teachers and students being 80% and 86.03%. The learning tools developed are effective in increasing students' competencies with classical completeness for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies are 89.66%, 100%, and 100%. It can be concluded as a practicum-based learning tool developed which is a valid, practical, and effective learning tool.

Abstract

Corona Virus Diseases (Covid-19) has become an epidemic in Indonesia and even has become a global pandemic in 2020. Various impacts of Covid-19 is one of them changes learning strategy. One of them is the change from conventional learning to internet-based learning or electronic learning (e-learning). The purpose of this study was to describe the e-learning in natural science and environmental learning during the Covid-19 outbreak. The research method used descriptive method and data collection techniques using a survey through Google Form. The study was conducted during March 2020 in Bekasi city and Bandung city, when the Covid-19 outbreak began in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that there are many limitations. Findings showed that Whatsapp was the highest e-learning media (65.54%). Related to the biggest obstacle is about internet quota in a cellular phone (27.03%). Then students think the video (35.14%) was the best type of file to be shared in e-learning. Then the majority of students (54.73%) thought that the most effective duration for e-learning was 2-3 hours. The results of this study indicate that e-learning was not yet perfect and needs to be improved. The conclusion of this study was e-learning needs to be improved and need innovation.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Matematika merupakan ilmu yang bersifat abstrak karena menuntut siswa mengonstruksi pengetahuan melalui proses menerjemahkan berbagai lambang. Hal ini menyebabkan perlunya media yang bersifat interaktif, menyenangkan, dan mudah diakses. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif puzzle square menggunakan macromedia flash 8 dan menganalisis kelayakan media tersebut dalam pembelajaran Teorema Pythagoras di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Maumere. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini menerapkan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari analisis masalah awal, desain model media, proses pengembangan dan revisi, penerapan atau uji coba, dan evaluasi hasil penerapan. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu dihasilkannya media berupa aplikasi pembelajaran puzzle square yang dapat diakses menggunakan komputer atau laptop. Media pembelajaran interaktif puzzle square dinyatakan baik berdasarkan rata-rata skor penilaian ahli materi dan ahli media sebesar 4,18 dan media pembelajaran interaktif puzzle square dinyatakan sangat baik berdasarkan rata-rata penilaian peserta didik mencapai 4,22. Dengan demikian media pembelajaran interaktif puzzle square layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika pada materi Teorema Pythagoras untuk siswa kelas 8 SMP Negeri 1 Maumere. Kata Kunci: macromedia flash 8, media pembelajaran interaktif, puzzle square, pythagoras  ABSTRACTMathematics is an abstract science because it requires students to construct knowledge through the process of translating various symbols. This definition resulted in the need for interactive, fun and easily accessible media. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive learning media for puzzle square using macromedia flash 8 and to analyze the feasibility of these media in learning the Pythagorean Theorem in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Maumere. This research applied research and development method using the ADDIE model which consists of initial problem analysis, media model design, development and revision processes, application or testing, and evaluation of application results. The results of this research illuminated the production of media in the form of a puzzle square learning application that can be accessed using a computer or laptop. The puzzle square interactive learning media was declared as good based on the average score of the material expert and media expert's assessment of 4.18 and the puzzle square interactive learning media was declared as very good based on the average assessment of students reaching 4.22. Thus, the interactive learning media puzzle square is suitable for use in mathematics learning on the Pythagorean Theorem material for grade 8 students of SMP Negeri 1 Maumere. Keywords: Macromedia Flash 8, Interactive Learning Media, Puzzle Square, Pythagoras

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi bagi siswa sekolah dasar sangat penting untuk menghadapi abad 21. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat dikembangkan adalah RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain and Create). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa kelas V sekolah dasar pada tema ekosistem. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan the matching pretest-posttest design. Sampel ditentukan secara purposive, dengan siswa SDN 5 Pagarsih sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SDN 1 Pagarsih sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang dikembangkan mengacu taksonomi Bloom Revisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan model pembelajaran RADEC memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran inquiri. Hal tersebut diperhatikan dari skor rata-rata pretest di kelas RADEC 40,44 dan inquiri 38.14. Sementara skor rata-rata posttest kelas RADEC 70.08 dan inquiri 56.5. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 29.64, kelas kontrol 18.36. Sintaks pembelajaran RADEC sesuai dengan konteks keIndonesiaan, khususnya pada tahap Read dan Answer yang membuat siswa lebih siap untuk belajar. Selanjutnya  Discuss, Explain dan Create yang lebih efektif dan  memudahkan proses pembelajaran.  Simpulan penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran RADEC lebih berpengaruh positif dibandingkan model pembelajaran inquiri terhadap ketrampilan berfikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Berfikir Tingkat Tinggi, RADEC, Sekolah Dasar   ABSTRACT  Higher-order thinking skills for elementary school students are important to face the 21 century resulting in RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain and Create). The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the RADEC learning model on HOTS of fifth-grade elementary school students on the ecosystems theme. The research employed a quasi-experimental model with the matching pretest-posttest design. Furthermore, the instrument developed refers to Revised Bloom's taxonomy. The results showed a positive effect on students' higher-order thinking compared to inquiry learning models seen from the average pretest score in the RADEC class 40.44 and 38.14 in the inquiry class, while the average posttest score in the RADEC class is scored 70.08 and 56.5 in the inquiry class. The data indicated that the increase in the experimental class reached 29.64, while the control class scored 18.36. The syntax used in the RADEC learning model is in accordance with the Indonesian context, especially in the Read and Answer stages which make students ready to learn. Then, the Discuss, Explain and Create stages are more effective and ease the learning process. Abstract

Imbas Covid-19 dalam dunia pendidikan memaksa pendidik untuk berinovasi dalam mengembangkan dan mengalihkan proses pembelajaran konvensional ke pembelajaran jarak jauh. Salah satu platform pembelajaran jarak jauh adalah google classroom. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran daring melalui google classroom yang ditinjau dari hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini berjenis quasi experiment yang dirancang memakai one group pretest-postest design. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan seluruh siswa di kelas 11 yang berjumlah 31 orang pada salah satu sekolah di Kabupaten Purwakarta, kemudian data diolah dengan uji paired sample t test serta N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa pembelajaran jarak jauh menggunakan google classroom apabila ditinjau dari hasil belajar siswa mencapai persentase 58.3% (cukup efektif menurut tafsiran N-Gain). Hal ini berkaitan dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dibandingkan sebelum menggunakan google classroom mengalami peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar sebesar 22.6%. Namun, di sisi lain ditemukan beberapa kelemahan dalam pembelajaran tersebut seperti penguasaan fitur, siswa tidak memiliki paket data, serta jangkauan sinyal yang tidak merata. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Google classroom cukup efektif dalam pembelajaran sejarah kebudayaan Islam ditinjau dari hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci: google classroom, hasil belajar, sejarah kebudayaan Islam.   ABSTRACT The impact of current covid-19 has succeeded in changing various educational aspects, thus forcing educators to develop and diverting conventional learning processes into distance learning. One of the distance learning platforms is google classroom. During the Covid-19 pandemic, this application became of its own urgency because of the many features presented to support learning. This research employed a quasi-type experiment design by using a one-group pretest-postest design, which aims to determine the google classroom's effectiveness on Islamic Cultural History learning from the perspective of student learning outcomes. This research employed all students in grade 11 with a total of 31 people at one of the Madrasah Aliyah in Purwakarta Regency. The data were processed by using the paired-sample t-test and N-Gain. The results of the research illustrate that distance learning by using google classroom when viewed from student learning outcomes, reaches a percentage of 58.3% (quite effective according to the interpretation of N-Gain). The result related to the implementation of learning compared to before using Google Classroom showed an increase in average learning outcomes of 22.6%. However, several weaknesses were found in the learning process, such as mastery of features, students not having data packages, and uneven signal coverage. The conclusion of this research showed that the use of Google classroom is quite effective in learning the history of Islamic culture in terms of student learning outcomes.   Keywords: google classroom, history of Islamic culture, learning outcomes
