Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of scientific work skills of prospective students of primary school teachers after implemented by STEM Project Based Learning. This research is designed with pre experiment method with one shot case study design, that is sample consist of one experimental class that get a treatment, that is implements STEM Project Based Learning in science lecture at grade of teacher candidate of SD PGSD FIP UPGRIS Semarang. Based on the results of N-Gain analysis, the data obtained obtained the improvement of the scientific work skills of prospective teachers of SD Prodi PGSD FIP UPGRIS by 0.8 in the classical or in the high category of improvement. Improvement of scientific work skills per indicator from the highest to the lowest ie communication and interpretation skill, planning the experiments skill that each get the value of N-Gain 0.9 ie in the high category, the classification gets value of N-Gain 0.8 ie in the high category, the observation skill get the value of N-Gain 0.7 is on the high category, and ask questions skill get the value 0.5 that is in the category of being. It was concluded that the implementation of STEM Project Based Learning could improve the scientific work skills of prospective elementary school teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: (i) video-based vibration learning model from http://youtube.com to improve concept understanding; (ii) the feasibility of the learning model; and (iii) strengths and weaknesses of the learning model. Research using the R&D approach includes 4 phases. The results showed: (i) the learning model was divided into: preliminary phases, core activities, and closing phases, containing objectives, sequence of material, and discussion based on student questions; (ii) an expert assesses the model is correct in the category: "in scope of concept" and "truth of concept"; (iii) Students in the limited trials I and II, respectively, judging by the categories between:  "good enough and good ", and  "good and very good"; (iv) strength: the scope of the concept is comprehensive, easy to access and repeat, saves lecturers' power, and references to 1 sub-topic are available from several varied videos; (v) weaknesses: learning 1 sub topic is still in the form of file compilation, Indonesian language references are limited, and the purpose of learning videos is binding.

Abstract

Produk pangan yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan mutu, keamanan dan cemaran bakteri dapat mengakibatkan terganggunya kesehatan. Ikan asin kering merupakan salah satu sumber protein hewani yang banyak di konsumsi masyarakat Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan formalin, kadar garam dan angka lempeng total bakteri pada ikan asin yang di jual di Pasar Tradisional Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pengambilan 5 sampel dari 5 pedagang berbeda yang berada di Pasar TradisionalYogyakarta menggunakan metode probability sampel. Pengujian sampel dilakukan di laboratorium kimia dan laboratorium mikrobiologi Politeknik Kesehatan Bhakti Setya Indonesia Yogyakarta dengan metode uji kualitatif pada formalin dilakukan dengan menggunakan Kit Tes, penetapan kadar garam dilakukan dengan metode Argentometri, dan uji Angka Lempeng Total (ALT). Berdasarkan hasil uji formalin dari 5 sampel yang diteliti, yang positif mengandung formalin yaitu cumi dan rebon. Hasil uji kadar garam sangat bervariasi diantara (5.46%-23.52%). Lima sampel yang diteliti dua diantaranya memiliki kadar garam melebihi Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI 2721-1:2009) yaitu diatas 20%, yaitu cumi dan ikan peda, sedangkan rebon, teri gundul dan ikan balur memiliki kadar garam yang rendah. Hasil penelitian Angka Lempeng Total bakteri ditemukan antara 26 x 105 -280 x 105 koloni/gram. Angka Lempeng Total Bakteri pada ikan rebon 280 x 105 ml/gr dan Angka Lempeng Total Bakteri pada sampel ikan cumi 26.7 x 105ml/gr Hal ini menunjukan ikan sudah mengalami kontaminasi dan tidak memenuhi syarat oleh Standar Nasional Indonesia yaitu 1,0 x 105 koloni/gram.

Abstract

The purpose of daily research media based on smartphone applications is as a solution to optimize the manual daily review system by saving time which is usually used to correct daily tests. At the same time save paper, because it switches to using devices that are not one-time use. So that the application of daily replication applications is expected to be able to improve the quality of education and teaching in the future. The method used in this study is the development or Research and Development (R & D). The product trial subjects consisted of material validators and media validators. In this study, data collection techniques were carried out using a validation sheet. Data analysis in this study is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. In the results of the development of daily media replications based on smartphone applications, the average level of product feasibility of each aspect in terms of material is declared to be feasible at 3.8 and in terms of media is declared feasible at 3.9. So that the daily media review based on smartphone applications deserves to be applied to learning.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the misconceptions of a prospective chemistry teacher. The study population was all students of the Chemistry Study Program at the University of Riau, while the sample was 66 students at the Chemistry Study Program at the University of Riau, selected by cluster random sampling technique. Conception data of chemistry teacher candidates on acid-base subjects have been identified and obtained by providing valid acid-base TTT diagnostic tests to chemistry teachers candidates. The result of this research showed that chemistry teacher candidate who experienced misconception on acid-base subject were 66.5% from 4 main concepts studied, namely acid and base concepts (51.15%), pH and pOH concepts and their calculations (79.06%), the concept of acid-base dissociation degree (75.43%), and the concept of acid-base titration and indicator (58.13%). The study also revealed that some students have difficulties in performing mathematical operations using logarithms.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kimia membutuhkan kerja laboratorium untuk menunjang proses belajar mengajar yang baik. Kendala di SMA Muhammadiyah plus Salatiga adalah terbatasnya jumlah laboratorium dan bahan kimia yang tersedia mengakibatkan proses pembelajaran kimia tidak berhasil baik. Keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik belum berkembang dan hasil belajar sebelum dilakukan kelas remedial masih rendah. Pendekatan konstruktivisme berorientasi green chemistry merupakan salah satu alternatif yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan kendala proses pembelajaran kimia di SMA Muhammadiyah Plus Salatiga.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Data dianalisis menggunakan program Anates dan excell. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif danketerampilan berpikir kritis di setiap siklusnya. Ketuntasan rata-rata untuk hasil belajar kognitif di tiap siklus mencapai 70%, 82% dan 88%. Keterampilan berpikir kritis yang diamati melalui aktivitas peserta didik di kelas rata-rata untuk setiap siklus adalah 90. Lebih dari 75% peserta didik memberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran kimia denganpendekatan konstruktivisme berorientasi green chemistry. Peserta didik menjadi aktif terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran dan memiliki inisiatif yang tinggi dalam mengembangkan pokok bahasan di kelas.Kata kunci: Konstruktivisme, green chemistry, Hasil Belajar, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi lokal lingkungan SMA Negeri 2 Wonosari dengan materi pokok ekosistem kelas X SMA. Hasil kajian potensi lokal yang diperoleh terdiri atas: sarana dan prasarana untuk pengelolaan sampah organik (komposter), berbagai tanaman-tanaman hias yang berada di green house, halaman yang cukup luas dan ditemukan beberapa jenis tumbuhan tingkat tinggi. Sementara untuk potensi lokal yang berada di luar sekolah terdapat lahan-lahan pertanian yang memanfaatkan sistem tumpang sari dan karakteristik lahan yang berbatu. Jenis tanaman yang khas yang terdapat di sekitar pantai Gunung Kidul adalah jenis tanaman pandan berduri dan cemara udang. Berdasarkan kriteria pembuatan bahan ajar yang terdiri atas kejelasan potensi, kesesuaian dengan tujuan belajar, kejelasan sasaran, kejelasan informasi yang dapat diungkap, kejelasan pedoman eksplorasi, kejelasan perolehan yang diharapkan maka kajian potensi lokal untuk pengemasan bahan ajar dapat dijadikan acuan pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis potensi lokal melalui penyesuaian terhadap Kurikulum 2013, karakteristik dan kebutuhan peserta didik serta kemampuan guru.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk menganalisis prekonsepsi siswa kelas X SMA dalam menghubungkan konteks fenomena air laut dengan konten hakikat ilmu kimia. Penelitian ini mengacu pada Model of Educational Reconstruction (MER) yang dibatasi pada tahap investigasi pre-konsepsi siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu pedoman wawancara, dan lembar angket. Data penelitian yang diperoleh berupa transkripsi wawancara siswa kelas X, dan hasil angket. Hasil penelitian adalah (a) prekonsepsi siswa terhadap konsep hakikat ilmu kimia ; 100% siswa telah mempelajari hakikat ilmu di tingkat SMP, namun belum mampu untuk menjelaskan kembali, (b) prekonsepsi siswa terhadap konteks fenomena air laut ; 100% siswa mengetahui fenomena air laut sebatas mengandung garam dan rasanya asin, dan (c) prekonsepsi siswa terhadap hubungan antara konteks fenomena air laut dengan konten hakikat ilmu kimia ; 70% siswa mampu menghubungkan fenomena air laut dengan konten hakikat ilmu kimia.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the metacognitive skills of students from class 10th in Bantul and to analyze the comparison between them based on their gender. The method of this research is quantitative descriptive. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The questionnaire was applied in four classes in order to collect data and independent T-test was used to analyze them, the findings proved that generally both male and female use their metacognitive skills in learning. In addition, there are no significant differences between male and female students in metacognitive skills especially in the following domains: knowledge about cognition. The results are discussed in relation and compared with previous researches to show gender differences in chemistry learning and opens the door for future research and educational practice. It is recommended to conduct further research related to gender differences in metacognitive skills using a bigger sample.

Abstract

The purposes of the research were to know the difference  between student cognitive achievement  who learnt chemistry learning achievement using Science Technology Society between student who had high and low creativity, between student who had high and low critical thinking and their interaction. The research used experimental method. The data was collected using test for cognitiveachievement, creativity and critical thingking and questionnaire for student affective achievement. The data was analyzed using non-parametric Kruskal Wallis. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that: 1) there was difference in students’ cognitive achievement between student who had high and low creativity, 2) there was no difference in students’ cognitive achievement between student who had high and low critical thinking, 3) there was an interaction between STS with creativity toward student’s cognitive achievement, 4) there was no an interaction between STS with critical thinking toward students' cognitive achievement, 5) there was no interaction between creativity and critical thingking toward student’s cognitive achievement.Keywords: Science Technology Society, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Acid Base, Student CognitifAchievement.
