Abstract

The educational reform of Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah Islamic Boarding School (RKIBS) has played a transformative role in shaping the social and economic dynamics of the Amuntai community in South Kalimantan. This study investigates the reform's impacts on the traditionally rooted Amuntai society using a socio-historical method that integrates historical and sociological perspectives. The findings demonstrate that RKIBS fulfills four critical functions: transmitting Islamic knowledge, preserving Islamic traditions, developing intellectual scholars, and driving socioeconomic progress. These roles underscore the school's influence not only as an educational institution but also as a catalyst for broader community development. By blending traditional values with modern advancements, RKIBS has significantly contributed to the intellectual growth and economic empowerment of the Amuntai society. The study concludes by emphasizing the broader implications of educational reform in balancing cultural preservation and progressive change, positioning RKIBS as a model for fostering intellectual and socioeconomic advancement in similar communities. This case study provides valuable insights into the potential of Islamic boarding schools to serve as agents of sustainable development while maintaining their cultural and religious heritage.

Abstract

Pesantren holds a significant position in Indonesia's educational system, functioning as key institutions for religious education and cultural preservation. This study aims to examine the implementation of religious moderation policies within pesantren to encourage interfaith understanding and collaboration among diverse religious groups in Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research gathered data from interviews, surveys, and document analysis across a range of pesantren in Indonesia. Findings reveal multiple initiatives to foster religious moderation, including incorporating interfaith education into curricula, enhancing students' critical thinking skills, and promoting gender equality practices. These efforts have been met with successes and challenges; while students benefit from a broader perspective, obstacles such as resource limitations, cultural norms, and resistance to change were notable. This study underscores the vital role of pesantren in promoting religious moderation, which is crucial for nurturing understanding and peace among Indonesia's religious communities. These findings offer meaningful insights for policymakers, educators, and community leaders on advancing religious tolerance and empathy within Islamic education, supporting the development of a more inclusive and cohesive society.

Employing a research and development approach, this study utilized the ADDIE development model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. Data were collected through documentation, observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The findings revealed that the Lectora Inspire-based mufradat learning media is deemed feasible, achieving a feasibility test score of 75% from material expert validators and 90% from media validators. User feedback was positive, with 86% of 106 respondents finding the learning media engaging. Moreover, AVLI proved effective in enhancing mufradat learning, evidenced by an increase in average student scores from 65.5 on the pretest to 85.5 on the posttest, a rise of 30 points. Abstract

The memorization and understanding of the Qur'an play a vital role in shaping a Qur'anic generation. This study aims to explore the memorization patterns in the Tahfidz and Tarjamah Qur'an programs at Darul Hufadz Islamic Senior High School. Using a qualitative research approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation from 38 informants, including the principal, five mentor teachers, and 32 students. Data analysis followed a process of reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings indicate that the Tahfidzul Qur'an program follows a daily memorization pattern known as "One Day One Verse," where students memorize one verse and its translation each day. The program emphasizes regular recitation, memorization, comprehension, and the practical application of the Qur'an's teachings, with parental oversight. Collaborative reading sessions between teachers and students, coupled with repetition—where verses are repeated over 40 times and listened to more than 60 times—reinforce the memorization process. This structured approach effectively cultivates a Qur'anic generation, ensuring deep engagement with the Qur'an. The study highlights the importance of consistent memorization routines and active teacher involvement in fostering both cognitive and spiritual development among students.
