Abstract

Mastering vocabulary is essential for language acquisition, particularly in Arabic. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of AVLI (Arabic Vocabulary on Lectora Inspire) for grade X students at Baitul Jannah Integrated Islamic High School. Employing a research and development approach, this study utilized the ADDIE development model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. Data were collected through documentation, observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The findings revealed that the Lectora Inspire-based mufradat learning media is deemed feasible, achieving a feasibility test score of 75% from material expert validators and 90% from media validators. User feedback was positive, with 86% of 106 respondents finding the learning media engaging. Moreover, AVLI proved effective in enhancing mufradat learning, evidenced by an increase in average student scores from 65.5 on the pretest to 85.5 on the posttest, a rise of 30 points. Consequently, this study concludes that Lectora Inspire-based learning media is both feasible and effective for teaching mufradat to grade X students, highlighting its potential implications for Arabic language education.

Abstract

Several cases of juveniles have to some extent dominated mass media news recently and this worrying reality is contradictory to the purpose of education that teenagers are expected to achieve. In an attempt to solve this problem, various efforts have been made by educators and one of them is to promote prophetic-based education. This study was aimed at investigating prophetic education at Madrasa Muallimin/Muallimat (MMA) Bahrul Ulum Tambak Beras, Jombang. This research is qualitative descriptive using models of Miles and Huberman analyses. The data collected were analyzed through several steps namely reduction, presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the prophetic education was applied in MMA through internalizing Islamic values for students in their learning process. When it comes to internalizing values, MMA referred and addressed the local culture to cultivate for students. This process has been built since the establishment of MMA so that it has built students’ character which in turn gradually form the identity of the MMA among the society where it exists.

Abstract

As Qur'an serve as guidance in Muslim life, it goes without saying that there is an obligation for parents to teach their children the ability to read the Islamic holy book. On the part of school institution, educators are expected to offer interesting teaching methods to read Qur'an so that they have an ease to acquire the ability. This study was aimed at investigating the relationship between teaching methods and students' ability to read Qur'an. This study applied an action research to explore practical problems and to find some solutions to the problems encountered. The research subjects were 283 students of class VII at SMPN (Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri/State Junior High School) 2 Porong. This study collected data through: survey, observation, and semi-structured interviews. The findings show that students' ability to read Qur'an can be categorized into four levels namely: Ibtida 1, Ibtida 2, Jayyid, and Jayyid Jidan. Those four categories placed students based on their abilities in reading Qur'an. According to Pearson correlation, there was a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a linear relationship between the teaching methods and the students' ability to read Qur'an. Following this result, some methods of learning to read Qur'an like Iqra, Tahqiq, Talaqqi  Mushafahah, and CMSA (Cara Mengaji Santri Aktif/an active way to read Qur'an for students) are in position to be applied in order to improve children's Qur'an reading abilities.

Abstract

In RA (Raudhatul Athfal/Islamic Early Childhood Education) context, since many teachers relied heavily on standard learning guidelines, most of them didn't have the power of creativity to make learning for children fun.  As a result, children were likely to experience burn out and this calls for a solution to apply like kaulinan barudak to develop children's character values. This study was aimed at determining the effectiveness of the implementation of kaulinan barudak, Sundanese traditional games in developing character values for children in RA (Raudhatul Athfal/Islamic Early Childhood Education). This research applied a quasi-experimental method with Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest design. This research was conducted in two RA schools namely RA Al Muqadasah 1 and RA Al-Muqadasah 2 with 36 children involved. The test result for average difference on the post-test showed that children's character values of the experimental class and the control class at the 0.05 significance level was obtained p (sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000. This indicated that there was a significant difference between the average score of the experimental class and control class in their post-test in terms of their character values scores at a level of confidence of 95%. Applying kaulinan barudak provided the experimental class a fun learning experience, potential growth, fun game, peer interaction, and a pleasant atmosphere. The process allowed character values to occur and children learned those values and realized them in kaulinan barudak.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Participatory Observation learning model and students' responses to the learning model used in PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam/Islamic Education). It used qualitative and quantitative methods with a pre-test and post-test nonrandomized group pre-experiment design. The 125 participants who were taken from three public universities, were asked to fill out questionnaires and written interviews. The data were analysed using paired t-test and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that first experiment got a t-score of 6,798 with a significance of 0,000; t-table score at 51 degrees of freedom and a significant degree of 0.05 in the form of 2.032. Second experiment obtained a t-score of 5.991 with a significance of 0.000; the t-table score at 54 degrees of freedom and 0.05 degrees of significance was 2.046. Third experiment achieved a t-score of 6.424 with a significance of 0.000; the t-table score at 20 degrees of freedom and 0.05 degrees of significance was 2.054. When compared, t-score> t-table or significance score <0.05, which means that the mean score between pre-test and post-test is significantly different. This means that the Participatory Observation learning model can improve students' religious and social character in learning PAI. This result is in line with the respondents' recognition that they have experienced changes in their character in a positive direction. Students stated that the Participatory Observation learning model was fun and very useful, so that it could be used in PAI learning to improve students' character.
