Abstract

This study aims to determine the persuasive communication strategy of kindergarten teachers "Harapan Bersama" in the character of caring for waste. This study uses the theory of The Meaning Construction Communication Strategy which includes Cognitive Factors and Emotional Factors. And the type of research used is qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that the important role of cognitive and emotional factors in education in the Harapan Bersama Kindergarten environment is that the programs implemented both by teachers at school and parental support at home have had a positive impact in shaping children's understanding and behavior related to caring for waste in their environment. Children's responses suggest that different approaches may be needed to meet individual needs in terms of environmental understanding. This emphasizes the importance of a holistic and diverse approach to environmental education to achieve broader and more integrated outcomes. There were differences in how children responded to environmental issues based on their emotional and cognitive factors, highlighting the complexity of shaping attitudes towards the environment. The results of this study show that persuasive communication strategies through cognitive factors and emotional factors have a positive impact in shaping children's understanding and behavior related to waste care in their environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication behavior of Tik Tok social media users, especially non-verbal communication behavior, especially among Communication Science students at Dehasen University Bengkulu. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and observations of active students of the Communication Science Study Program who use Tik Tok. This research uses the S-O-R theory, namely Stimulus, Organism, and Response. The results showed that Communication Science students tend to dominate non-verbal communication behavior on Tik Tok. They often access videos according to interests and trends, creating content inspired by what they watch. Although the content varies, the main trends include traveling, cooking, selling, news, vlogging, thrift clothes and family drama. Participation was dominated by female students, with varied responses after using Tik Tok, including being entertained, inspired and wanting to exist through comments. Non-verbal student communication behaviors included facial expressions and gestures, clothing, visual effects, camera movements and editing, as well as reactions and interactions with other content. Students often use their creativity to attract attention, share ideas and engage in community interaction on Tik Tok.

Abstract

Cultural diversity gave birth to many different cultures in Bengkulu Province, one of which is in Kedataran Village, Maje District, Kaur Regency. In the communication process between people of different cultures, a more comprehensive understanding is needed so that it does not become a conflict. This underlies the research conducted in Kedataran Village, with the aim of describing the intercultural communication process that occurs between indigenous people and transmigration communities in this area. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were interviews with key and main informants, as well as observation and documentation. This research uses the theory of intercultural communication (Ting-Toomey, 1985) which includes symbolic exchange, proces, different cultural communities, interactive situation, negotiate shared meanings, and societal embedded system. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it is concluded that 1) the use of intercultural communication symbols in Kedataran Village is the language used, namely Kaur, Javanese, and Indonesian, 2) although there are cultural differences but people are able to understand each other so that the communication process is quite harmonious, 3) different cultural communities between people coexist by applying mutual tolerance and mutual respect for differences, 4) interactive situations of intercultural communication during weddings, official village forums, and social activities, 5) negotiation of meaning is related to the substance of the issues conveyed such as conflicts due to differences in viewpoints and assessments of other cultures, 6) systems embedded in society shape the process as well as the results of intercultural encounters between indigenous and transmigration communities.

Abstract

Tiktok social media is not only a medium for entertainment, but is considered effective enough to be relied on in finding information regarding many things such as promotional searches, this is due to the increasing popularity among Millennial women today. The popularity of Tiktok social media makes people easily involved and inspired to use the TikTok application. This study aims to determine the effect of perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness and intention to recommend on consumer purchase intention of millennial women in Bengkulu City. The results of this study found that perceived enjoyment has a positive effect on the buying interest of millennial women in Bengkulu City, meaning that using TikTok can provide enjoyment and pleasure to Millineal women so that they have the intention to make a purchase. Perceived usefulness has a positive effect on the buying interest of Bengkulu City Millennial women, meaning that TikTok is very useful for Millineal women, especially in making online purchase transactions, Millennial women really feel the usefulness of TikTok for shopping and choosing the products they want in the TikTok application so they don't have to leave the house to shop. Intention to recommend has a positive effect on Buying Interest of millennial women in Bengkulu City, meaning that if Millennial women feel the benefits of using TikTok they will recommend TikTok to others either directly inviting others to use TikTok or recommending through their social media accounts that they are very satisfied using the TikTok application.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the competence of employees at the Regional Office of the National Land Agency of Bengkulu Province. This research is qualitative research presented descriptively. There were 6 informants in this research consisting of3 key informants and 3 main informants. Data collection methods through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the research and discussion using the theory of Spencer and Spencer (1993:90) there are five indicators used. And it can be concluded that the Competency of Employees at the Regional Office of the National Land Agency of Bengkulu Province has been sufficiently implemented. This can be seen from several indicators, namely: 1.Motive. The motivation carried out by the office in terms of employee performance is by promotion, education and training and technical guidance, motivating employees, giving awards and being involved in activities that foster and improve competency for employees. 2. Character. The employees have abilities or skills that can be used for the advancement of the agency and have the characteristics of employees who are competent in completing a job. 3. Self-concept. That a good employee must have an honest attitude, be disciplined, be responsible at work, be able to complete every task given and be friendly and caring towards other employees. 4. Knowledge. Based on the educational level of the employees, the level of education that employees must have been in accordance with the fields needed by the office starting from high school, diploma, bachelor and master's degree. 5. Skills. Employees’ skills at the office can be implemented through trainings, namely training in leadership, administration, agrarian reform, training for attorneys, land acquisition, skills training and negotiating techniques in dispute resolution, and land conflicts.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the Effectiveness in Supervision of SMANKO Dormitory in Bengkulu Province. The approach in this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were conducted by interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation (data display) and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that, from the results of interviews and discussions about "Effectiveness in the Supervision of SMANKO Dormitory in Bengkulu Province" it can be concluded that the effectiveness in the supervision of SMANKO dormitory has been running quite well, which is seen based on the indicators of the theory of six effective leadership traits according to Edwin Ghiselli in Usman Effendi (2014: 186) namely, supervisory ability, technical knowledge, decisiveness, self-confidence and initiative. Of the six indicators, there are two indicators that still need to be improved, namely, supervisory ability, there is still a lack of supervision of the dormitory caregivers on the afternoon and night shifts because it is far from supervising the dormitory coordinator's working hours so that it is vulnerable to caregivers who are not there at that time and technical knowledge (intelligence) still lacks a match for the educational background of some dormitory caregivers.

Abstract

The strategy of the South Sumatra Provincial Culture and Tourism Office in promoting Tourism Objects through Instagram media @pesonasriwijaya aims to describe the way of the promotion strategy of the South Sumatra Provincial Culture and Tourism Office on Instagram social media. This type of research uses qualitative methods using AISAS Theory (Attention, Interest, Search, Action and Share). The results of this study indicate that the strategy used by the South Sumatra Provincial Culture and Tourism Office in promoting tourist attractions through the sriwijaya charm Instagram media is through the messages they convey on the sriwijaya charm Instagram, then attracting audience interest through post content, utilizing Instagram features such as highlights and hashtags to make it easier for people to find out tourist attraction information, making persuasive invitation sentences in each post caption, and making posters and sharing travel testimonials with the public.

Abstract

Pollution is a problem that never ends. These problems can also have a negative impact on health and the environment, such as causing respiratory problems, health problems, environmental damage and climate change. This problem is something that needs to be considered and researched in order to know the steps and what the efforts to deal with air pollution. In an effort to do this, this research was carried out using descriptive qualitative methods with literature study as the research method. Based on the observations, to reduce the impact of air pollution, several solutions have been proposed, Starting from exercising which contributes to respiratory health, planting trees which can help filter harmful particles from the air. Reducing motor vehicle use, and using environmentally friendly vehicles is also recommended. Using environmentally friendly products also can help reduce plastic waste. Beside that, Proper waste processing is also the key to reducing the negative impact of burning waste on air quality.

Abstract

Coldplay, as one of the most popular bands in the world, is often the center of attention of global music fans. Their concerts are considered unforgettable experiences, and tickets are often a rarity. This research uses Self Determination Theory which includes autonomy, competence and connectedness, aiming to analyze the influence of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) on the competition for tickets to the 2023 Coldplay concert. Phenomenology is used to find out how FOMO is among Coldplay’s fans with the points Edited Content, Continuous Update , Social Comparison, Comments & Likes, Events & Social Invitations. This research uses a qualitative approach by conducting interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show FOMO behavior among Coldplay fans; 1) Autonomy, watching concerts is a personal desire; 2) Competence, a Coldplay concert is considered an achievement, creating satisfaction; 3) Connectedness, increasing motivation to get involved in the concert. Media content influences feelings of FOMO. Social media algorithms make it easier to access information. Social comparison triggers feelings of envy, but people's success in getting tickets through events & social invitations does not affect feelings of FOMO. FOMO and the influence of social media encourage people to get involved in Coldplay concerts, thus creating satisfaction. When individuals are in a missing out situation, some of them experience disappointment, but others respond to these feelings by diverting their disappointment into positive things.

Abstract

Perfume has become a primary need for every person, and its use has various purposes both according to needs and according to personality category. This research aims to examine perfume aromas and the personality spectrum, with a focus on how the choice of perfume aroma can reflect individual characteristics on various personality spectrums. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach by conducting in-depth interviews and observations of informants who used various types of perfume. The research results show that the choice of perfume aroma can reflect certain aspects of a person's personality. Floral aromas tend to be associated with feminine characteristics, while woody or spice aromas may be associated with masculine characteristics. Apart from that, there is a close relationship between the choice of perfume aroma and the level of extraversion, neuroticism, openness, familiarity and emotional stability of the perfume user.Understanding the relationship between perfume aroma and the personality spectrum of perfume users can be useful in developing the perfume industry. Using perfume that is tailored to personality preferences can improve the perfume user's experience and help express their personality through the chosen aroma.
