Abstract

East Asia and the Pacific region has been the second-largest trading bloc in the world for the past 40 years, following Europe, with a steadily increasing transaction value trend. In contrast, Europe, which has the highest trade levels globally, has shown no significant growth over the past four decades and has even experienced a slight decline. East Asia and the Pacific provide access to a diversified market with efficient technology transfer, which is believed to have a positive impact on GDP per capita growth. This study analyzes the impact of export destination policies to East Asia and the Pacific on GDP per capita by comparing sample countries from the Upper Middle Income (UMI) and Lower Middle Income (LMI) groups. The study employs a dynamic panel System GMM (Arellano-Bond 2-step) method, which combines level and first-difference equations for greater efficiency while using instrumental variables to capture endogeneity, mitigate heteroskedasticity, and address serial correlation in the model. The regression results indicate that exports to East Asia and the Pacific contribute to an increase in GDP per capita by an average of 0.016% for every 1% increase in export proportion to this region, ceteris paribus, in Upper Middle Income countries. However, the impact is insignificant and non-linear for Lower Middle Income countries. Furthermore, there is no strong evidence that export destinations to Europe and Central Asia, South Asia, Latin America, the Arab region, or Sub-Saharan Africa are significantly correlated with GDP per capita in either income group. The results of multicollinearity tests, AR(2) tests, and Hansen tests confirm the absence of multicollinearity, serial correlation, and that the instruments used in the model are valid.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of carp (Cyprinus carpio) farming using a fast-flowing pond system in Subang Regency. The background of this study is based on the high potential for carp production, which is still constrained by limited capital, mastery of farming technology, and suboptimal market access. The main issues include sustainable farming techniques, factors affecting success, marketing strategies, and government support for farming businesses. The research method used was qualitative with a case study approach at CV. Faston Sejahtera. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and literature studies, then analyzed using the SWOT approach and business feasibility. This analysis aims to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by the company in developing its business. The results of the study indicate that carp farming is feasible and has prospects for sustainable profits. SWOT analysis places the business in an aggressive (growth-oriented) strategy with strengths in strategic location, availability of superior seeds, and high market demand. External opportunities are supported by fish consumption trends and government policies. However, this business still faces weaknesses in the form of limited capital and technology as well as threats from price fluctuations, competition, and the risk of fish disease. In conclusion, the development of carp farming in Subang has great potential if accompanied by strengthened business management, expanded access to capital, technological innovation, and more effective marketing strategies.

Abstract

In the healthcare industry, first-level primary care clinics face challenges from the future uncertainties that affect the clinic’s operational ability. Bahagia Primary Clinic, a long-standing family-owned business operating for over 40 years, wants to be passed down to the next generation, but at present, the clinic does not have a long-term plan, which creates contradictions and gaps in its vision of becoming a sustainable family business. This study uses the scenario planning framework to help the clinic prepare for the next 5 years by identifying the key focal issues, driving forces, external and internal environments, early warning signals, and business solutions. By using interviews, content analysis, PESTEL analysis, Porter’s Five Forces analysis, and SWOT analysis, the 12 key driving forces were identified. Government Policy & Regulation and Internal HR & Management emerged as the most critical, impactful, and uncertain driving forces, thus forming the basis for the 2×2 scenario planning matrix. Four scenarios were created, they are the Steady Crew in Stormy Seas, Titanic, Calm Tailwinds, and Missed Tailwinds, each with implications, options, and business solutions. The results provide business solutions that emphasize on digitalization, human capability, and better service quality to strengthen the clinic’s resilience.

Abstract

Marketing literacy, which encompasses a holistic understanding of modern marketing concepts and practices, is a critical foundation for MSMEs in Muna Regency to develop effective strategies, particularly in facing digital transformation; this study used a qualitative approach with a reflexive thematic analysis method on purposively selected MSME actors, and the results revealed that the level of marketing literacy is still limited and partial, digital adoption is minimal, and there is a disconnection between local strengths and digital strategy, where marketing literacy proves to function as a crucial mediator in transforming local potential into a competitive advantage, so that its enhancement through contextual policies oriented towards training, infrastructure, and sustainable mentoring is a fundamental prerequisite for increasing MSME competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding and implementation of the Marketing Mix 4P strategy by MSME actors and to examine its relationship with consumer purchase decisions as well as its impact on the welfare of both indigenous (OAP) and non-indigenous MSMEs in Sorong City. Using a mixed methods approach with a concurrent transformative design, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies, employing multistage random sampling with 100 quantitative respondents and qualitative informants consisting of academics, MSME owners, marketing practitioners, government officials, and retailers. Data were analyzed using a convergent parallel mixed method, with SPSS 27 applied for regression, t-test, and F-test, and qualitative analysis conducted through Miles & Hubermans model using NVivo 14. The results reveal that, partially, product and place strategies have no significant effect on purchase decisions, while price and promotion strategies significantly influence consumer decisions, with promotion emerging as the most dominant factor. Simultaneous testing indicates that the four variables of the 4P marketing mix collectively exert a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions, contributing 65.7%. Qualitative findings further emphasize that consumers prioritize affordable pricing and attractive promotions over product quality and distribution location. These findings demonstrate that the application of the 4P marketing mix not only enhances purchase decisions but also positively impacts competitiveness, consumer loyalty, market expansion, and the welfare of MSME actors, both OAP and non-OAP, although challenges remain in improving product quality and distribution.

Abstract

This study aims to explain how budget participation, public accountability, and supervision together contribute to improving the apparatus performance, as well as expanding the object of study to Regional Apparatus Organizations (RAO) in other districts, both within the scope of Southeast Sulawesi and outside the province. The data were obtained through the direct distribution of questionnaires to respondents across 34 RAO. The data analysis method of choice was the structural equation modeling–partial least squares (SEM-PLS) approach. Software called SmartPLS 4.1 was used to process the data for this investigation. The outcomes of hypothesis testing demonstrate that budget participation, public accountability, and supervision each exert a positive and significant effect on the apparatus performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of fraud accounting (X1) and corruption crime characteristics (X2) on the prosecutor's demand (Y), and to examine the moderating role of behavioral judgement (Z). The research is motivated by findings that the criminal demands filed by prosecutors at the Bireuen District Attorney’s Office do not always correspond with the magnitude of state financial losses resulting from corruption. While fraud accounting findings should serve as an indicator to aggravate the sentence demand, they are occasionally not accommodated proportionally in the prosecution demands. The research employed an associative and cross-sectional approach, utilizing multiple linear regression and moderation analysis (interaction term). The sample consisted of 92 prosecutors who had prepared prosecution demands for corruption cases at the Bireuen District Attorney's Office during the 2020–2025 period. The results show that fraud accounting (X1) and corruption crime characteristics (X2) simultaneously have a significant influence on the prosecutor's demand (Y) by 82.0%. Partially, both independent variables demonstrated a positive and significant effect on the prosecutor's demand. Furthermore, behavioral judgement was proven to strengthen (moderate) the influence of fraud accounting on the prosecutor's demand. It also strengthens the influence of corruption crime characteristics on the prosecutor's demand. This finding reinforces the view that prosecution decisions are not solely based on objective accounting data but also on the integrity, rationality, and justice practiced by the prosecutor (behavioral judgement).

Abstract

The Cash Transfers for Poor Students Program (Bantuan Siswa Miskin, BSM)―formerly known as Program Indonesia Pintar―aims to improve financial capacity for poor and vulnerable students. However, there is limited research that measures the effect of the BSM program on student education expenditure by school level in Indonesia. Using pooled cross-section data from the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS), this study examines the effect of the BSM program at three levels of education namely primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary. By conducting the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) and pooled cross-section regression, this study finds that the BSM program has a significant and positive effect by 8.5 percent on student education expenditure at senior secondary level, in contrast, no effect on primary and junior secondary school students. This study suggests that the government needs to adjust the value of program benefits as the burden of student education expenditure continues to be high.
