Abstract

Teacher competency and personal talent are often considered as the main factors in the development of students' dance skills. However, learning intensity can also play an important role in mediating the influence of both factors. Learning intensity refers to the stage of involvement, dedication, and effort devoted by individuals in the learning process. This study aims to examine the role of learning intensity as a mediator in the influence of teacher competency and personal talent on students' dance skills. This research method is a survey method with a quantitative approach. The number of samples taken was 60 students from dance extracurriculars at MI Kresna. Data were collected through a questionnaire from a Likert scale with 4 alternative answers. PLS-SEM analysis was used to analyze the data and test and evaluate the construction of problem-solving ability measurement variables. The results showed that teacher competency on learning intensity (β = 0.261); (ρ = 0.005) and learning intensity on dance skills (β = 0.263); (ρ = 0.310) had no significant effect. In addition, learning intensity was proven to mediate the influence of personal talent (β = 0.155); (ρ=0.376) and teacher competency (β=0.069); (ρ=0.324) towards dance skill. Implications of increasing learning intensity in mediating the influence of teacher competency and personal talent with students' dance skills in dance material from dance extracurricular at MI Kresna. Abstract

The advancement of technology in the current era has led most students to prefer watching educational stories on smartphones rather than reading stories in books. This presents a challenge for educators to create technology-based educational videos. The lack of understanding of technology among educators makes learning media less engaging, which can decrease student motivation. This research aims to assist educators in utilizing animated video media to create enjoyable learning experiences for students. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, where the researcher seeks to describe the utilization of animated video media in Arabic language learning at Al Maahira International Islamic Boarding School Malang. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The data is then reduced, compiled, sorted, presented, and concluded. The results of the study indicate that animated videos can attract students' interest, helping them focus on the material taught by the teacher and making it easier to understand the content because students tend to be interested in engaging and visual images. The use of animated videos has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include making learning more interesting, increasing student motivation, and providing flexibility. The disadvantages include limited resources and the potential for student dependency. To maximize the use of animated videos, schools need to provide adequate facilities, offer training to teachers, and use animated videos in balance with other teaching methods.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the Islamic boarding school (pesantren) environment and Ta'lim Muta'alim studies on students' moral behavior towards teachers, with a focus on the mediating role of self-awareness. Grounded in the principles of Islamic education, the study addresses the critical issue of declining moral respect towards teachers in educational institutions. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 110 students of Jannaturroichan Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze the relationships between variables. The results revealed that both the pesantren environment and Ta'lim Muta'alim studies significantly enhance students' moral conduct towards teachers, and self-awareness acts as a crucial mediator in strengthening this relationship. The findings highlight the novelty of integrating self-awareness as a core component in Islamic moral education to foster deeper respect for teachers. Based on these results, it is recommended that pesantren incorporate structured self-awareness training programs to cultivate positive student-teacher interactions and reinforce moral values within the educational framework of Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Silent Way method on increasing students' awareness of the importance of learning Arabic. The background of this study is based on the low awareness of students in understanding Arabic language learning as a strategic tool in global communication and career development. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design, involving 40 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received instruction using the Silent Way method, while the control group used conventional methods. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire measuring the cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions of learning awareness, analyzed using a t-test. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group (average score increased from 2.9 to 3.7) compared to the control group (from 2.6 to 2.8), with a p-value 0.001. These findings prove that the Silent Way method is effective in fostering learning awareness through participatory, reflective, and learner-centered learning. This study recommends the application of this method in Arabic language instruction as an innovative strategy for building students' intrinsic awareness.

Abstract

The Civic Education course plays an important role in shaping the character of university students. However, many students still lack awareness of the values of nationalism and patriotism. This is reflected in their lack of respect for national symbols, such as reluctance to participate in flag ceremonies or a lack of understanding of the importance of maintaining national unity. To address this issue, collaboration among various parties is required. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, conducting interviews with lecturers, students, and staff at UIN SU Medan who participate in the learning process in the classroom. This approach aims to gain a deep understanding of the phenomenon within a real-world context. Applicable learning methods, relevant training programs, and discussions tailored to students' needs are required to increase awareness of the importance of obeying regulations. Civic Education also faces several challenges, such as poor communication between units, monotonous learning methods, and low student motivation. As a solution, innovative strategies such as the use of creative learning methods are needed. At UIN SU Medan, Civic Education is able to encourage students to be more disciplined and obedient to rules. Methods such as project-based learning, group discussions, and seminars have proven to help students understand the importance of order. One of the lecturers' strategies is to set specific rules in the course and explain them in detail at the beginning so that students get used to obeying them.
