Abstract

Indonesia has one of the highest numbers of accidents within ASEAN country. Accident reduction program has been established namely National Public Safety Plan (RUNK) established by the government has not show a significant impact. Weak public transport in Indonesia caused the population to attempt to solve it by using personal vehicle. During the last decade, the motorcycle is the star of transport mode choice in almost all Indonesian regions, however, as the number of motorcycle on the highway increase, making the probability of motorcyclist accidents increased as well. Based on the above conditions, the study has evaluated students’ preferences on reducing accident severity as a result of an accident. Furthermore, the research will be conducted in Makassar and Surabaya. Using Binary Logit Analysis it can be inferred that the probability of respondents who are willing to reduce the serious severity in Surabaya is 78.63% whilst in Makasar 94,73%. Considering on reducing slight injury respondent in Surabayawho are willing to reducing the injury is 66,66%, while at Makasar is 93,37%.

Abstract

The growth of urban population is often not accompanied with adequate public transport. To meet the needs of public transport, Semarang city are beginning to develop the provision of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) or Bus Trans Semarang in 2010. One of the problems to meet the needs of public transport services is BRT shelter range of service is not optimal. It can be seen from the BRT shelter service outreach at a radius of 400 meters (on foot) only covers 47 % of the 177 districts (kelurahan) in the city of Semarang. The limited range of shelter coverage is due to lack of modal options (such as taxi motorcycle, rickshaw, bicycle) between residential location with BRT shelter. To overcome these problems required the addition of BRT shelter outreach radius to a radius of 3 km by bike and ride facilities (for bicycles) and other advanced modes such as taxi motorcycle or rickshaw.

Abstract

The difference of flying time condition can affect a pilot's psychological condition. Regardless of the factors which the human body has a habit of working time and rest so that will affect the physical condition, and ultimately also affect the psychological condition and vice versa. The study was conducted to determine whether such a difference in mental workload on the pilot to fly a different phases of time in operating the aircraft. Mental workload measurements performed using the Subjective Workload Assessment Technique method (SWAT), this method using combine of three dimensions with their levels. The dimensions are time load, mental effort load, and psychological stress load. The results of studies shows that the condition of mental workload experienced by pilots refers to phases of time is in general (on average) in the high category (overload). While the overall showed that more pilots emphasize time factor in considering the factors of mental workload. The most burdensome conditions of a flight when the pilot was conducted in the morning (06.am - 11:59 am)), on weekends and during peak seasons.

Abstract

The study aim was to develop models that can be used to assess the level of toll road traffic safety. Model development was done with a focus on microscopic traffic conditions in the form of hourly traffic flow, which was expected to represent the traffic conditions at the time of accidents. To achieve the research objectives,  data in the form of tollroad geometric characteristics, crash , and traffic volume, was collected from Jagorawi, Jakarta-Cikampek, Padaleunyi, and Palikanci toll road operators. Level of safety assessment models were developed from these data with generalized linear modeling (GLM) approaches, and calibrated using statistical techniques. This study successfully model the effect of hourly traffic flow and a number of toll road road geometry elements to the total accidents frequency. It was found that the negative binomial distribution fits to the data describing the incidence of traffic accidents on inter urban Indonesian toll roads.

Abstract

The transport sector can not be separated from the economic sector, in which the role of transport as a logistics that will affect the production sector. The high cost of transportation will increase production costs and result in a lack of competitiveness of economic sectors in Indonesia (the Foundation and LPEM-UI, 2008). This study tried to describe the contribution of road infrastructure investment to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in terms of the transportation cost. The role of infrastructure investment is a way to lower the cost of transportation of goods and increase communication among the connected region, the road infrastructure investment will improve the performance of road transport as this will affect the production sector identified areas affected by the reduction in cost of production of economic sectors can be quantified as a value-added GDP measured in region.

Abstract

The concept of behavioral preferences of consumers in the selection of the transport route is not separated from the analysis to determine the factors to be considered as a preference in choosing the right route and meet consumer desires. The concept of utility road as an assessment of consumer preferences as the traveler can be used as another parameter that can be used as a complement to these elections besides the physical parameters of road network Many aspects of a utility that allows a determinant of consumer preference studies using the concept of choice in getting multiatribut preference models. Multiatribut analysis in general is an analysis of the use of mostly attributes and by using statistical analysis will result in a more compact model Research results Preferences Behavioral Model Development Land Transport Route Selection in Semarang Indonesia can be done by using Conjoint analysis multiatribut . Preference route choice behavior in Semarang Indonesia is directly proportional to the convenience factor , the crowd , the facilities , convenience , safety and inversely proportional to the density . Attributes are considered the most important is the ease of attributes , whereas attributes are considered insignificant relative comfort attributes
