Abstract

This article is based on the development and design research. The research objective is (1) to develop interactive e-book physics that has pictures, video, animation, simulation, and voice as a source of learning physics (2) to develop interactive e-book of physics that can increase students' interest in learning physics. Model development used ADDIE model is proposed by Lee and Owens. Procedure development include: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of individual trials and a small group of students at SMP Sari Putra Kota Jambi. Testing large group obtained an average value of 3.23 with the corresponding criteria/ right/ good/ easy. Based on the results of individual trials, small and large groups obtained in this study concluded that the interactive e-book for junior high school physics lessons appropriate for use as a source of learning physics junior level. Abstract

Material mathematics and mathematical reasoning are two things that can not be separated, the material is understood through reasoning and mathematical reasoning to understand and learn the material drilled through mathematics. Working Backward strategy is a strategy that is closely associated with logical reasoning ability and verification. Working Backward strategy, students are required to analyze each step by using reasoning. This study used a quasi-experimental methods. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in the effect of the use of the Working Backward strategy in solving math problems on mathematical reasoning abilities of students. The experiment was conducted in Jambi City Junior High School. The population are 375 students, while the studied sample totaled 68 students consisting of 34 students in grade experiments and 34 students the control class. Sampling was done by using simple random sampling technique in class VII. Instruments in this study was a test in the form of mathematical reasoning abilities test description. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class of 74.92 and an average grade of 67.65 control. These results suggest that there are differences average value of the experimental class with the control class. So it can be concluded that the use of the Working Backward strategy in solving mathematical problems affect the ability of mathematical reasoning seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Jambi. Abstract

This article is based on the development research that aims to develop multimedia of learning English which is attractive and effective for grade X Students about news item text. The development of the multimedia for learning English uses Lee and Owens model. The procedure of developing the multimedia covers four steps. They are: 1) need analysis and assessment, 2) designing multimedia learning, 3) developing and implementing the multimedia, and 4) evaluating the multimedia. The data of this research are compiled any sources i.e. validation result of leaning design expert, subject matter expert and learning media expert. It is also from students as treatment subjects and English lesson teacher. The treatment subjects are 39 students consisting of 3 students for personal treatment, 5 students for small group treatment and 31 students for field treatment. The results of the research show that: 1) developing the Macromedia Flash based multimedia of English learning for Class X was assessed by validators as learning media which is in good category and it is suitable to use. 2) the treatment subjects, students and English teacher gave response and conclusion that the multimedia is attractive for learning English, shown from the result of personal treatment subjects’ questionnaire of 88.7%, the result of small group treatment subjects’ questionnaire of 64.4% and the result of field treatment subjects’ questionnaire of 84.2%, therefore, the average of total treatment subjects’ questionnaire is 79.7%, then 3) this multimedia can be used effectively to achieve learning competencies, proven by the result of increasing score gained by the students in pre-test and post-test which is 72.03%. Abstract

Development research aims to produce products such as electronic media learning graphic comic appreciation folklore terms of aspects of the material, multimedia, and instructional design and the validation team repon of students as users. Development method used is a development model popularized by Borg and Gall (1983). The development steps are: (1) phase of the potential and problems, (2) stage of gathering information, (3) the product design stage, (4) design validation phase, (5) improvement phase Desai, (6) the trial products, (7) product revision stage; (8) the trial use; (9) product revision stage, and (10) stages of manufacture bulk products. The results showed that the overall development of the product has been well developed based on the results of the validation. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the media is developed based on the criteria of both validation and student responses as a user. Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of character education in SDIT Nurul Ilmi of Jambi include: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings of the study are: Character education planning is done by integrating the main character and values matched with the standards of com-petence and basic competence, suitability with the material. Hence, it is translated into a learning device. Character values developed or implemented through habit and exemplary school culture and the implementation of character education in learning is divided into three sections, firstly it is integrated into the subjects, Second in local content, and the third, through the self-development of habit, exemplary, and extracurricular. Character education in extracurricular activities carried out by entering the value of the main characters in each activity option. The Barriers of implementation charactered are, students character, families, and communities. Facilities and supporting facilities play an important role in the integration of the character value. Character education evaluation process carried out during the learning process and when students interact outside the classroom. The research is included (1) a well planned character education is learning device. It is supported by religious and other characters, (2) the implementation of character education in learning is integrated into every subject, local content, and habituation in school; educational character in extracurricular containing noble values; implementation barriers such as student characteristics, family environment and society; carrying adequate infrastructure and facilities, (3) evaluation process conducted continuous character education. Abstract

The development based learning e-learning with Moodle application based on the theory constructivist materials analyzing business opportunities XI class SMK is motivated by the limitations of the use of ICT in the learning process and the need for entrepreneurial learning media attractive and easy to use which can improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to (1) Develop e-learning courses with Moodle applications to support learning, develop learning with vocational e-learning materials based on the constructivist theory to analyze business opportunities and (2) Produce a product that has the attractiveness and easy to use. This type of research is the Research and Development using the model of Lee and Owens (2004), through several stages, namely: (1) analysis, (2) design,(3) development, (4) implementation, (5) evaluation. From the results of the development are as follows. (1) the development of e-learning with Moodle application based on the constructivist theory of matter to analyze business opportunities and well worthy to be used in class XI SMK 1 Kuala Tungkal and (2) produce e-learning has the attractiveness, and ease to use in learning activities. Feasibility of the e-learning based on expert validation studies that assess the field of e-learning include both categories, media design expert validation categorized as good, expert validation of multimedia including both categories. And experiments performed on the users (students) includes a small group of test activities, to perform pretest and posttest for the 15 students of SMK 1 Kuala Tungkal class XI Multimedia B, the result is the average value of the pretest 56.67 and posttest generate average value average 91.00. These results indicate that the developed e-learning effectively to improve student learning outcomes. Entrepreneurship For teachers, e-learning can be used in the learning process, so that the learning process will be more interesting and varied. The utilization of e-learning for the student as one of the active and independent learning resources. Abstract

Development of audio-visual media meditation training specifically designed for the needs meditation. This medium contains stages in meditation so easily understood and followed by meditation trainees. The development of audio-visual media conducted by researchers carried out by adapting the model of ( Research and Development / R & D ). The method consists of 10 ( ten ) steps , namely ( 1 ) the potential and problems , ( 2 ) collection of data , ( 3 ) product design , ( 4 ) validation of the design , ( 5 ) revision of the design , ( 6 ) test products , ( 7 ) revision of the product , ( 8 ) utility testing , ( 9 ) the revision of the product , ( 10 ) mass production, but for mass production, the researchers do not do this in accordance with the restrictions on the problem. Abstract

Difficulty learning abstract consepts in material forms of the molecule based on the theory of electron domain and molecular hybridization in the formation of simple covalent coumpounds involving electron is verry small in size. With conventional learning to use the media shaped balloons and images/charta make their experience misconceptions. Make use of computer assisted animations media adobeflash program. The program is able to help students discover and explore the concepts of learning materials to animate the process of formation of the molecules of the compound geometry. The program is easy to obtain and can be used on all computers. Material forms of molecules according to VSEPR theory (valence shell electron pair repulsion) and Hybridization theory contained in the computer based media is aimed at helping students learn to achieve mastery of core competencies which are already contained in the syllabus set by time. Products are developed in accordance with the educational technology area abstract include students in determining the geometry of the steps forming the molecules of the compound. The stages are carried out in the development of media, namely: design learning, create computer based animation media, validate products with product testing. Advice of expert material/content, media expert, design expert, and data from trials of the target group to be enter performance improvement products. Based on the results of the expert validation and testing of the target group can be concluded that the computer –based instructional media products on the molecular forms of material at Senior High School chemistry in particular at ninth grade IPA (Natural Sciences). With regard to these results the school, especially Senior High School 8 Batanghari media products in order to incorporate this learning into the school website that can be accessed by the wider media users for further development. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the performance of the school institution that uses the management of academic information system (AIS management effectiveness, Culture ICT, ICT facilities and the quality of the Human resources) on the performance of the institution; partially include: effectiveness of management on the performance of Academic Information Systems agencies; ICT culture on the performance of the institution; availability of ICT facilities for the performance of the institution; and quality of human resources Academic Information System on the performance of the institution. This study used a descriptive analytical method. The data used are primary and secondary data obtained through surveys and documentation. The data analysis techniques-quantitative analysis examines the effectiveness of management, ICT culture, availability of ICT facilities, and quality of human resources for the school's performance and its impact on the academic achievement of students in schools in the city of Jambi, as object of study. Abstract

Understanding words is one the language components that becoming a problem for students with hearing impairment – students with hearing and speaking problem. This difficulty exists because student with hearing impairment do have any perception about language. The difficulties of student with hearing impairment in understanding words will consequently causing problem for them in understanding and delivering sentences in written language and to interact in hearing community. The main goal of this research is to develop a media teaching and learning English based on Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and Edmodo – social network media that used exclusively as e-­‐learning tool, toward the ability of hearing impairment students in understanding meaning of words, semantic, and their interaction in learning English. The research also investigated the effectiveness of using the media in learning English for the students. The result shows that students with hearing impairment are very motivated in understanding words and sentences taught assisted with ICT and Edmodo. The everyday classroom interaction shows that the students are actively participating in individual and group works. In addition, students have a good perception about teaching assisted with ICT and Edmodo. Keyword: ICT and Edmodo, Hearing Impairment Students, Teaching and Learning English
