Abstract

Background: Lung cancer is a disease that is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Some patients experience psychological problems due to uncertainty in disease management, which can affect the treatment process and outcomes. This study analyzes the uncertainty, impact, and prevention strategies of lung cancer management. Methods: a systematic review using the PRISMA protocol and JBI critical appraisal tool to determine eligible articles. The five electronic databases used (Science Direct, PubMed, Scopus, IEEE Explore, and Google Scholar). The inclusion criteria included research on lung cancer published in English in the last ten years (2013 -2023). Result: The results showed that 11 articles met the inclusion criteria. The review results show several factors related to uncertainty related to lung cancer, including perceived physical symptoms, disease experience, cognitive factors, self-authority, social support, education, adaptation control, uncertainty inference buffering strategies, and the presence of health information. The impact of disease uncertainty is a lack of emotional control, increased stress, lifestyle changes and maladaptive behavior in health management. Nurses can implement prevention strategies by providing precise and comprehensive information, patient-centered palliative care services, improving coping through increasing family support or other social support, using positive emotional experiences of patients, evaluating service systems and planning continuous care programs. Conclusion: Patients' uncertainty in managing lung cancer can negatively impact disease management and disease management outcomes. Nurses can use appropriate strategies to improve adaptive coping abilities must be carried out to prevent adverse impacts and positively impact patient management and treatment outcomes. Abstract

Background: Community based disaster risk management (CBDRM) is used to reduce disaster risk and increase community resilience to disasters that occur. Community-based disaster risk management is one of the main trends of international disaster prevention and reduction, which was firstly established in the UK in the late 1980s and has since been widely valued and applied by international, national, and local organizations. This study was to access the individual disaster preparedness of villagers in a northwestern rural community and examine the determinants of their individual disaster preparedness across multiple dimensions: place, individual sociodemographic factors, family socioeconomic status, hazard adaptation, community and environmental influences. Methods: This article was obtained from 2018 to 2023. This research is a study using the Systematic Literature Review method. The search strategy used in this literature review is to use 4 databases, including Elsevier, Science Direct, Pubmed, Plos One, and Grey Literature. The interactions between the different determinants will be discussed. The design used in this study was a systematic review using the PRISMA 2009 flowchart, namely selecting articles that did not comply with the criteria for inclusion, screening, eligibility, and downloading of articles. Results: A total of 10 articles were analyzed, this study reveal that community-based risk management can reduce disaster risk and increase community resilience to disasters that occur as well as increase community capacity to prepare themselves and increase community knowledge about disasters. Conclusions: Communities need to be empowered in the role of disaster management in rural areas. Keywords: Community, Role, Disaster Risk Management, Rural

Abstract

Background. Hemodialysis therapy can raise stressors which are able to cause death anxiety due to the occurrence of comorbidities after renal failure which are unavoidable even though undergoing hemodialysis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between family support and death anxiety in the elderly who were undergoing hemodialysis. Method. This study used a quantitative research technique with a cross-sectional approach. To determine the sample, a total sampling technique was adopted with the sample size of 43 people. Results. The measurement instruments used in this study were the family support questionnaire to measure family support with the (r) value of 0.97 and reliability value of 0.85, and the death anxiety questionnaire to measure death anxiety with the validity value of 0.367-0.724 and reliability value of 0.806. The respondents consisted of 32 elderly men and 11 elderly women. Hypothesis testing using Chi Square with the analysis between family support and death anxiety revealed the p value = 0.000, which means that there was a relationship between family support and anxiety level in the elderly who were undergoing hemodialysis. Conclusion. Family support has an important role in reducing the level of pressure in dealing with problems. Optimal family support can reduce death anxietyin the elderly who are undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

Introduction: Many behaviors are carried out by FSW in preventing HIV/AIDS, namely not using condoms, taking antibiotics to prevent HIV disease, washing the vagina with toothpaste, squatting after having sexual intercourse with customers, drinking herbal/special ingredients to clean vital areas. Lack of knowledge and economic factors are one of the factors causing the emergence of HIV/AIDS. Purpose: this study aims to determine HIV/AIDS prevention behavior among female sex workers with physical disabilities. Method: Literature Review with the PRISMA approach. Literature search using electronic database such as PubMed, Google Scholar and Science Direct. Literature review was conducted on international journals published in the last 5 years, available in full text. Results: A total of 3.112.416 articles were identified. Fifteen articles that have been analyzed the results show that the knowledge of FSW about STIs and HIV/AIDS has sufficient knowledge and low education, are in the age range of 26-35 years, but in FSW with disabilities there is still stigma and discrimination and sexual violence, workers with disabilities experience stigma and discrimination in the workplace, online-based education using HIV/AIDS prevention videos for people with speech impairments is effective in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of people with speech impairments in preventing risky behavior, people with disabilities are affected by poverty, which includes lack of access to education, health and income so that women with disabilities are at higher risk of being exposed to HIV. Discussion: The vulnerability of female sex workers with physical disabilities will increase the number of HIV/AIDS cases. The gap between women sex workers and physical disabilities requires advocacy at local and national levels to support health service improvements. Conclusion: persons with disabilities are diverse and their HIV risk varies from individual sexual behavior to contextual factors such as poverty, lack of access to health and education, and experiences of violence.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition where a baby or toddler experiences chronic malnutrition which has an impact on the child's low height. Participatory Learning Approach (PLA) is an alternative learning model that is used to increase the active participation of participants. This study aims to determine the effect of the Participatory Learning Approach (PLA) method in increasing mothers' knowledge in stunting prevention. Methods: The design of this study was quasi-experimental, with a pre and post test approach with a control group design. Respondents to this study were 50 mothers and prospective mothers who were divided into the intervention group (n=27) and the control group (n=23). The sampling technique used is convenience sampling. Respondents were invited to take part in a one-day learning program called Stunting Awareness Day (3S). In the 3S program, the intervention group was given health education using the PLA method, while the control group was given the traditional lecture method. This questionnaire is used to measure respondents' knowledge of stunting prevention before learning (pretest) and after learning (posttest). The data obtained were analyzed using paired t test and independent t test. Results: The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between participatory learning methods and traditional approaches in increasing mothers' knowledge about stunting prevention (p = 0.002≤0.05), the increase in knowledge in the intervention group was more significant than the control group. Conclusions: The PLA and lecture learning methods can be used to increase respondents' knowledge in stunting prevention.
