Abstract

The university's development should not overlook the valuable indigenous knowledge inherited within the local community. Local wisdom comprises the customs and practices that have evolved among particular individuals, rooted in their deep understanding of the local environment accumulated over generations of inhabiting the area. Therefore, when expanding UIN Sunan Kalijaga in the Pajangan region, it is crucial to consider these aspects. This study aims to identify and document the local wisdom present in the Guwosari area, emphasizing its importance for preservation during the development process of Campus II UIN Sunan Kalijaga. A qualitative research method was employed due to the natural setting in which the study was conducted. The findings reveal several enduring legacies of local wisdom, such as the Selarong caves, untouched forests, and the landscapes and waters passed down through the ages. These legacies must be safeguarded and conserved, with development initiatives giving due attention to their protection.

Abstract

Peat is a type of soil that has a dry condition, which causes it to burn easily. When the peat is burned, the spread of fire will occur very quickly until it reaches the ground, because peat soil does not contain solid soil, but branches, grass, and tree debris. Even though the fire on the surface has been extinguished, the fire that is in the inner layer is not necessarily extinguished. This study aims to determine the effect of land fires on the characteristics of peat soil in Landasan Ulin District, Banjarbaru City, including the physical and chemical properties of the peat soil. This research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. Primary data in this study include: texture, color, bulk density (BD), soil structure, pH, and nutrients. Primary data collection was in the form of field surveys by looking at peatlands and the physical and chemical characteristics of the soil with 14 samples taken at 7 sample points. The results showed that on peatlands that had been burned, there was an increase in the value of BD, pH, and soluble Fe so that the potential for absorbing and distributing water was low, and plant roots were difficult to absorb nutrients. Organic C content also decreased, causing soil fertility to decrease.

Abstract

Land use changes have positive and negative sides. Land use changes are influenced by population growth, thereby increasing the area of settlement area and other buildings as supporting facilities around settlements. Agricultural land is productive land that is used for staple food production and is subject to land conversion. The reduction in agricultural land results in reduced agricultural production which can threaten food security. In addition, land conversion is increasing, having a negative impact on the surrounding environment. The aim of this research was to determine land use changes in Pancor Village in the last 5 years. This research was carried out in Pancor Village by collecting field data obtained through the East Lombok ATR/BPN service and carrying out spatial analysis using ArcGIS 10.8. The results of the research show that in the last five years there has been a decrease in the area of rice fields by 33.8 hectares, fields/moors by 2.275 hectares, plantations by 0.035 hectares, while settlements and built-up land have increased by 36.11 hectares
