Abstract

The presence of lecturers is closely related to the teaching and learning process on campus, which affects the quality of graduates. Therefore, qualified lecturers are needed, namely lecturers who can carry out responsibilities in the teaching and learning process. The quality of teachers or lecturers can be reflected in their level of professionalism, namely expertise in carrying out work carried out effectively and efficiently. This study aims to analyze the professionalism of lecturers in providing learning materials to students on student assessments based on the dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The method and approach in this research is descriptive analytic by using primary data through questionnaires. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that exogenous variables in professionalism along with their indicators have proven to be strong in shaping the professionalism of lecturers so as to increase student satisfaction. This study uses limited variables and indicators. The weakness of this research can be supported by other, more comprehensive research.

Abstract

Digital era requires teachers to be able to package learning activities by utilizing digital technology. The purpose of this study is to find out how teachers lead students in learning activities in the digital era and find out the impact of the digital era on learning and teachers. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with observation and interview data collection techniques. The results of this study are the development of the digital era, making students and teachers learn not limited by space and time. Teachers need to prepare learning plans related to digital materials and media that will be used. The use of digital media such as google form, google classroom, powerpoint, various learning applications, blogger, quizizz, google meet video conference, and zoom meeting have been used by teachers. Digital era has a positive and negative impact on the implementation of learning and for teachers. The positive impacts are (1) digital media makes it easier for students to access any learning materials; (2) students enjoy digital learning media more; (3) teachers participate in various trainings to improve skills; and (4) the teacher will continue to learn new things. The negative impacts caused are (1) learning materials become wider so that essential materials are not obtained; (2) less focused learning; (3) teachers are not always able to control students one by one on the use of gadgets; and (4) the spirit and abilities of senior teachers still need to be improved. The conclusion is that teachers as student leaders in learning are expected to be able to effectively package the development of the digital era to facilitate the implementation of learning.

Abstract

Principals of Elementary Schools have an effect on improving the quality of education. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The aim of this research is to describe the leadership of elementary schools in Indonesia and China. Data and data sources are taken from interviews and questionnaires. Sources of literature review data in the form of journals, books, and articles are more effective. Qualitative research methods to enrich information data in depth about the problem to be solved. Data collection techniques with questionnaires, interviews, and literature review. The research data analysis technique is an interactive model of Miles and Huberman which begins with collecting raw data, displaying data, reducing data, verifying data, and concluding data. The results showed that the principal’s leadership influenced the improvement of the education quality of school institutions. Primary school leadership in Indonesia and China share a common commitment to realizing the vision and mission for the advancement of school quality, communicating with teachers about the vision and mission to be achieved, empowering the work climate for teachers professional performance. The difference between principal’s leadership in Indonesia and China lies in the dedication of working time in China is longer than the working time of principals in Indonesia. Indonesia with democratic leadership while China with instructional leadership It is hoped that school principals can improve performance and leadership quality for the advancement of education in Indonesia so as to produce quality and competitive output in 21st century life.

Abstract

Students are school inputs that affect the quality and achievement of educational goals. Differences in talents, motivations, and characteristics of students, school zoning systems, schools focus more on increasing the quantity than the quality of students, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, the number of educators and education are some of the problems related to students. These problems have an impact on the quality of graduates and the achievement of educational goals in schools. Therefore, students in educational units need to be managed properly through the concept of student management. The purpose of writing this article is to describe and analyze the management of students in the education unit. The writing of this article uses the library research method. Student management are activities carried out by schools and related to students. Activities in student management include; Planning for students (needs analysis, recruitment, selection, orientation, placement, recording and reporting of students), student development, student evaluation and student transfer. Education unit managers need to optimize the management of quality students so that students receive optimal educational services from entering school until they graduate from school.

Abstract

World Class University (WCU) is the dream of all universities in the world, one of the indicators is the global ranking of universities carried out by university rating agencies in the world. The purpose of this study is to explore how the quality of higher education in Indonesia is viewed from the perspective of accreditation and university rankings at the world level. The methodology used is literature studies analysis and other documents. The focus of the analysis is on the official website of university ranking system at the global level and other media announcements to evaluate the relationship between university rankings and college accreditation on the quality of universities. The results of the study are 1). There is no standard indicator of measuring the quality of education as an objective general guideline. 2). Even though the international university rating agencies have different methodologies, both categories and performance indicators used, they have a relationship with the achievement of quality measures. 3). Higher education rankings provide a quantitative external view of the transparency of higher education institutions while quality assurance instruments cover both external and internal institutions. The Government and other policy makers should pay attention to the accreditation factor and the quality assurance system of these universities in making strategic policies, not only by looking at the ranking of universities at the global level.

Abstract

This study explains how school leadership is carried out in the online PPDB system at SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang. The purpose of this writing is to find out the principal's leadership strategy in implementing PPDB online. This research method is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The results of this study show that there are several gaps that occur due to unsynchronization between schools and the bureaucracy. This gap must be able to be overcome by the school principal through his leadership in carrying out existing strategies so that whatever the conditions are, schools are required to be able to survive and implement the existing PPDB Strategy properly and use good facilities and supporting instruments in order to add to the perfection of the PPDB process at SMA Muhammadiyah Pangkalpinang.

Abstract

This study aims to idescribe thei effectiveness of the distribution of school operational iassistance funds (BOS) in elementary schools in planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting and accountability for the management of BOS fundsi in SDN Paganjuran, Cineam District, Tasikmalaya Regency.This research was conducted at SDN Paganjuran, Cineam District, Tasikmalaya Regency. Data were collected by observation, interview and documentation methods, which were then analyzed using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis. The problem faced by all these elementary schools was that the School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds did not arrive on time as expected.The results showed that the BOS treasurer prepared the ARKAS ion time, namely ati the beginningi of th fiscal year, basedi on the priority scale of school needs, and involved icommittees andi teachers.The conclusion in this study is that the implementation aspect has not been entirely successful because the distribution of School Operational Assistance funds is still late. The aspect of supervision is still not fully successful because there is no supervision from the relevant agencies on a regular basis. Evaluationi activitiesi by the committee have been carried out although not optimal. Reporting on the management of BOS fund at SDN Paganjuran can be said to have been successful because a report has been made in accordance with the itechnical guidelines for managingi BOS funds. The level of effectiveness in managing BOS funds at SDN Paganjuran is in the effective criteria.Keywords: Management, Financing, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation.

Abstract

This study aimed at evaluating and describing the Professionalism Development of Economics Subject Teachers at SMA Negeri Muara Kuang District. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Muara Kuang and SMA Negeri 2 Muara Kuang. The research subjects were the head of SMAN 1 Muara Kuang, the head of SMAN 2 Muara Kuang, the deputy head of SMAN 1 Muara Kuang, the deputy head of SMAN 2 Muara Kuang. 2 teachers at SMAN 1 Muara Kuang, 1 teacher at SMAN 2 Muara Kuang and 2 Supervisors for Development. Data collection techniques with observation, documentation and interviews. The data analysis technique was carried out in three stages: (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, (3) conclusion drawing. The results showed that the development of the professionalism of the Economics Subject teacher at SMA Negeri Muara Kuang District had paid attention to all aspects of the context component, implemented several aspects of the input and process components. However, the output components have not been implemented properly.

Abstract

Financing management has become a very important requirement in organizations or companies, including in the world of education. With good financing management, accountability and transparency in financial management will be achieved. Utilization of technology-based information systems in school financing management will greatly facilitate school work, and will even lead to increased public trust. Using a qualitative descriptive research approach, through an interview process with the principal, vice principal and school treasurer, as well as documentation, it was found that the government had made a good reporting system for School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds through the ARKAS application. The web-based application is used by both public and private schools. SD Muhammadiyah 7 Bandung as a private school that relies heavily on public trust, has developed an integrated information system through the SIMUTU application, but it is not yet 100% integrated so it is still equipped with separate financial reporting using the excel program and printing paper documents, especially for the audit process internally carried out by the foundation. The process of planning, implementing, monitoring, reporting and accountability, as a cost management process, has been well managed. This is thanks to the role of the Muhammadiyah foundation, through the Bandung City PDM, which has implemented strict monitoring and evaluation of financing.

Abstract

Honorarium for Quality Improvement (HPM) of Educators and Non-State Civil Apparatus (ASN) Education Personnel to improve welfare, quality of performance, and competency development to achieve the goal of education in Bandung. However, HPM for non-ASN honorary teachers has not been fully accommodated for honorary teachers in Bandung. This study aims to describe the system in making honorary teacher honorarium policies in private schools. The approach taken is qualitative, the data comes from observation, interviews, and documents. The research subjects were three private school principals in Bandung, and three school operators there. The first one represents a financially stable school and can make policies without fully involving the foundation. The second, represents a school that is financially secure and the foundation is fully involved in determining school policy. The last, represents a school that is not yet financially secure. The research finding is an alternative policy for the school principal in adapting mayor's regulation which has not yet accommodated honorary teachers for quality improvement honors whose data is based on the system. The steps were taken by private school principals to accommodate honorary teachers by adapting the mayor's regulations which were revealed to be the criteria for awarding honorariums for quality improvement.
