Abstract

This paper examined the impacts of metalinguistic feedback on the TOEFL IBT Independent Writing Section Score of language preparatory school students` over 12 weeks using pre-test and post-test. Experimental group students were exposed to metalinguistic feedback, whereas control group students were exposed to direct feedback in an Academic Writing course. Independent samples t test and paired samples t test were employed to gather quantitative date, while the interview was used to get qualitative data. The results revealed that experimental group students` results were higher than control group ones. It shows that metalinguistic feedback yields better results than direct feedback.

Abstract

This research aims to create a digital pocket book that supports reading skills and is based on Realistic Mathematics Education. Research and development are the term for this type of study. This development study was carried out with the use of a 4-D model. A total of 30 students from SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi participated in field trials. The digital pocketbook met the validity, practicality, and effectiveness requirements, according to the findings. Teachers should be able to develop creative ideas for developing teaching materials that support reading skills based on the findings of this study.

Abstract

This present study monitors the EFL students’ emotions on extensive reading program across three genres, to be precise factual text and literary text. The data are collected from questionnaire, students’ diaries, and interviews to university students in Indonesia.  The close-ended questionnaire is analysed through Path analysis. Moreover, the students’ diaries and interview are analysed by content analysis. Piloting from Pekrun’s emotions, the study directs into achievement emotion, epistemic emotion, topic emotion, and social emotion. This mix method study gains the students in arranging their emotion on extensive reading program as long as three months. This study seeks to contribute to unearth the students’ feeling maps across two genres, thus shedding lights on determining teaching methodologies appropriate to comply with typical emotions in certain genres for more active students’ engagement

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought about fundamental changes in providing school guidance and counseling services. The provision of services that were previously done offline, now it was changed to online. This study examines the descriptions of students' perceptions and level of satisfaction with online guidance and counseling services. The purposive sampling technique was done by surveying and sampling. A total of 246 respondents were obtained with the use of perception assessment as the instrument and CSQ-8 to measure the level of satisfaction. The results showed that students had a good perception of online Guidance and Counseling (BK) services and had a moderate or satisfactory level of satisfaction.

Abstract

Today's retail architecture is developed by creating experiences, sensory experience is one of its aspects. Design students are expected to understand the concept, so this study aims to explore the sensory experience of students in a special retail space, namely art fashion retail. This research uses the qualitative photo elicitation method, participants are brought into real retail space and follow-up interviews are accompanied by photos. The findings revealed that only a small of participants paid attention to both tangible and intangible elements. So, for further assessment, it is necessary to match knowledge between education and the real world

Abstract

EFL students have a big problem called reluctance. Reluctance is students’ unwillingness or disinclination to speak and participate in classroom activities. This research attempts to determine how much each of the three factors affects students’ reluctance to speak English in classroom interactions and which is the most dominant. A descriptive quantitative method was used in this research. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The result showed that the psychological factor (lack of motivation) was the main. factor that affected students’ reluctance to speak in English. Because of that, the students should maintain their high motivation to improve their speaking ability.

Abstract

Geometry is one of the materials that must be understands by students in mathematics. Even though, students still find difficulties while studying geometric, especially the concept of the volume of a cuboid. The difficulties experienced by students can be handled in various ways, one of which is by using books as a source of student learning. This study analyzed the mathematics textbooks for fifth-grade elementary school, which is the Electronic School Book (BSE). The result of this research is an analysis of the presented material on the concept of the volume of the cuboid. The volume of cuboid analyzed consisted of praxeology materials, which are types of tasks, technique, technology and theory.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Tik-Tok-based learning in the perspective of Pugung Raharjo's local history era 4.0. The research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Data collection techniques with the following steps: (1) observation, (2) in-depth interviews, (3) documentation. The results obtained are: (1) Learning Media Concepts, (2) Tik-Tok-Based Learning, (3 Local History of Pugung Raharjo Archaeological Sites, (4) Components of Skill Values in History Learning, (5) Implementation of Tik-Tok-Based Learning in Pugung Raharjo Local History Learning. The results show that the innovation of Tik-Tok-based application learning media can be used by teachers as millennial learning media in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The advantages of the Tik-Tok-based learning media developed include, 1) attracting interest student learning, 2) train students in language and speaking, 3) express creativity and 3) boost student motivation in learning

Abstract

21st-century learning requires various abilities to adapt to the technological era because the digital information provided in this era is sometimes inaccurate. Therefore, students should be equipped with digital literacy skills. This study aims to determine the digital literacy skills of TVET students and the effects of digital literacy. In this study, we used a systematic literature review (SLR) with the PICOC method on data derived from the article literature. The results of the study show that digital literacy can improve critical thinking skills. IT literacy skills are also essential for adult life. Besides, digital literacy also influences student achievement and career planning. Accordingly, educational institutions must focus on improving digital literacy skills to help students gain successful career development

Abstract

COVID-19, which has plagued the world since 2020, has brought changes in the order of human life globally, and ultimately has an impact on the psychological state of individuals, including teenagers. The aim of this study is to find the differences between students’ gratitude score before and after the implementation of writing gratitude journal regularly. Participants on this study was 20 adolescents in Ambon City Maluku Indonesia, consists of 6 boys and 14 girls. The participants age was between 15-16 years old. Quantitative Method with experimental design used in this study. From the results, it was found that the significant value in the table paired samples correlations was 0.418, meaning that there are relationship between the results of the pre-test and post-test because the value was > sig. 0.05. Although the increase in the value of gratitude among adolescents in Ambon is not too large and increases their classification to be included in the criteria for groups that have sufficient gratitude scores, the important thing explained in implementing gratitude education actually lies in its aim to inspire students that it is important to be grateful in all circumstances. and it's not just about saying thank you or showing grateful behavior.
