Abstract

Technology carries many advantages, especially in the field of education. Linearly, students and teachers also get the benefits advantage by developing Android-based media for the learning process. This development research aims to make Megowan learning media based on Android on material that classifies animals based on their type of food for grade V elementary schools. In the long term, we also aim to identify the effectiveness and practicality of Megowan learning media for students, as well as improve student learning outcomes. This RnD  (Research and Development) used ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) research model. The research subjects were 12 fifth-grade students at State Primary School Gedang 2 Porong. Meanwhile, the research instrument was in the form of posttest and pretest. Megowan media was validated by learning media and material experts. Then, small group trials were carried out on sixth-grade students of State Primary School Gedang 2 Porong. The feasibility test results of android-based megowan media, in the technical aspect, showed  90% of presentation score, along with 80 and 85.71% of presentation feasibility and graphic feasibility, which is included in the very good or excellent category. Meanwhile, the feasibility test from the material experts showed suitability between the material with basic competence of 80%, the accuracy and correctness of the material at 80%, and the linguistic aspect of 80%. Thus, it is in the very good or very decent category. The results of the small group trial tests reached an 81.25% score, which was included in the very good category. Therefore, it can be concluded that  Android-based megowan media is feasible and can be implemented in the learning process.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic affects the learning process in the world that must be done online without direct teaching. Student learning situations may be different from direct learning; therefore, students must adapt again to this online learning system that can influence their learning styles. There have been numerous studies examining students' learning styles, but the information on whether learning styles influence their new online learning adaptation is not sufficient. Thus, this present study is important in analyzing students’ learning styles and how learning styles affect students’ understanding of the materials given by the teacher in an online Academic Article Writing class. This research used the descriptive qualitative method while the data were collected by distributing a questionnaire and conducting a structured interview. The subject of this research was 21 students who took the Academic Article Writing course of the English Education Department at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The result showed that most of the students possessed visual learning styles, the second position was auditory learning styles, and the least were students who had kinaesthetic learning styles. Additionally, the result of the questionnaire and interview shows that there are several reasons that do affect students' understanding of the material presented in Academic Article Writing’s online classes. Almost all students have a visual learning style and according to the teaching method when in this AAW online class.

Abstract

Learning independently can decrease for students during the Covid-19 pandemic if students experience saturation in learning so that they are lazy to do the tasks given.  This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of case study. The research, placed in Banjar sari Surakarta, used respondents totaling 27 upper-class students from grades 4-6 and 5 interviews with teachers. Data were collected through interviews and direct observation with respondents.  Overall, the level of saturation and independence of students is at an alarming level; this is because students often experience fatigue and boredom, so they are reluctant to do learning and learning tasks independently (such as many students complain of headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, sore eyes, difficulty sleeping, no appetite, tiredness, irritated eyes, lack of rest, and uncomfortable back sitting in front of a smartphone or laptops are too long and the shift from face-to-face to online learning habits cause learners to become bored and confused, thereby reducing their absorption).

Abstract

This research aims to explain the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the school partnership program with parents during distance learning. This research used qualitative and descriptive approaches. The subjects are the school principal, five subject teachers, one deputy principal, two representatives of students' parents, one head of administration, and two school committee members. The data are collected using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data are analyzed through three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The findings indicate that during the planning stage, the partnership team has prepared some actions such as 1) first-day school activities; 2) parental activities; 3) inspirational activities; 4) parents’ involvement in self-development activities and 5) social activities. At the implementation stage, the school partnership team, along with the students’ parents, carries out some activities which involve the parents' association and school committee members based on the action plan that has been set previously. The monitoring process shows that the partnership program involves the parents' associations, the school committee members, and the teachers. The evaluation step shows that the action plan has been implemented effectively despite some issues.

Abstract

The results of the identification of the objective conditions of learning in schools show problems, including students who memorize the material, but do not understand and are unable to connect physics material with the application of local wisdom in everyday life. This study aims to develop a local wisdom-based physics e-module product that was developed in terms of the components of illustration presentation, language, and material suitability for students' critical thinking and scientific argumentation skills on the Newtonian mechanics topics. Product development refers to the ADDIE research model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of validation by material experts show that the local wisdom-based physics e-module developed has an average percentage of 93.83% (very valid), from media experts at 84.72% (quite valid), and learning experts at 97.22 % (very valid). Therefore, the overall average of the results of the local wisdom-based physics e-module media assessment by the experts is 92.59% with a very valid category. The developed e-module learning media received very good responses from students. This can be seen from the average student response of 90.61% (very good). Based on the validation results from the experts, the product in the form of a physics e-module local wisdom-based is very valid to be used in the learning process.
