Abstract

This present study seeks to discover emotional and intellectual intelligence influences on teachers’ performance in the learning-teaching processes. The method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using literature published between 2013 - 2022 accessed through Google Scholar. The study’s results indicate that emotional intelligence does not dominate in improving teachers’ performance in learning-teaching processes. Additionally, emotional intelligence and intellectual intelligence may or may not have an impact on teachers’ performance. In other words, factors besides intelligence can affect teachers’ performance in learning-teaching processes. This study recalls that teachers’ performance is influenced by elements other than emotional and intellectual competencies. To effectively attain educational goals, a balanced approach to education and the creation of appropriate coaching tactics are required. Therefore, further research is recommended to identify other factors influencing teachers’ performance in the learning-teaching processes to achieve educational goals effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how well high school students' reading comprehension and ability to analyse historical materials are improved by the Muara Takus Temple local history e-module. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-post-test control group was the study methodology employed. Students from SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang made up the 56-person sample for the study. The experimental group, which utilized the e-module, and the control group, which did not use the e-module, were the two groups formed from the research sample. Both a pre-test and a post-test were used to gather data. Data analysis using the t-test revealed that, in comparison to the control group, the experimental group significantly improved its capacity for evaluating historical materials (p-value = 0.001 <0.05). Thus, it was determined that the utilization of Candi Muara Takus' local history e-module had a substantial impact on students at SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang's ability to read and analyse historical texts. The study's conclusion is that the local history e-module has the potential to help students become more proficient readers and analysts of historical materials. This demonstrates the necessity of integrating technology into history instruction to improve students' analytical abilities and get them ready to comprehend history more fully.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate variances in the patterns of the correlation between academic motivation, procrastination, and GPA among students from different universities in Surabaya. This research was conducted using a correlational method involving 1,060 students from four years: 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 (n respectively 209, 187, 232, 432). The sampling method was accidental random sampling from February to May 2021. The results showed that GPA, academic motivation, and procrastination fluctuated differently depending on the year of study. The average GPA tends to be high in the first year (µ=3.162) then increases in the second year (µ=3.485) decreases in the third year (µ=3.281) and slightly increases again in the final year (µ=3.309). Academic motivation levels also fluctuated during the four years of study (µ2020=3.849; µ2019=3.735; µ2018=3.917; µ2017=3.808). Meanwhile, procrastination tends to increase from year to year. From the results, it can be concluded that the occurrence of fluctuations in GPA, academic motivation, and procrastination from students is influenced by many factors in the learning process. However, students who can manage their emotions and motivation well tend to have a higher chance of success. Therefore, it is necessary to have the right intervention to help solve their problem of learning.
