Abstract

Spline is one of the nonparametric approach, to adjust data so the final model has good flexibility. The purpose of this research is to model the time series data in the form of currency exchange rates by using the nonparametric B-spline approach. In B-spline modelling, determination of the order for the model, and the number and the placement of the knot are the criteria that must be considered. The best B-spline model obtained based on the selection of the optimal knot points with minimum Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) criteria. The modelling in this research use data on the exchange rate of the rupiah toward the US dollar in the period January 2014 - December 2018. The best B-spline model obtained by the 2 point knot approach, at points 11935.10 and 12438.29, with GCV valueequals to 55683.09.Keywords: Nonparametric Regression; B-Spline; Generalized Cross Validation

Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan adanya perbedaan penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada materi bilangan berpangkat. Metode penelitian ini yaitu metode kuasi eksperimen (Quasi Experimental) dengan desain penelitian post-test control design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 47 siswa SMPN 1 Talaga Jaya  dibagi ke dalam kelas control dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa setelah melakukan pembelajaran menggunakan PBL dengan hasil belajar siswa berdasarkan rata-rata nilai posttest untuk kelas eksperimen sebesar 61,58 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 56,43. Adapun hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji hipotesis (t-test) pada excel menggunakan analysis toolpak (t-Test: Paired Sample for Means) mendapatkan hasil sebesar 3,346 < 2,014 dengan α (0,05). Hal ini berarti menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai posttest yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan matematika siswa berdasarkan domain kognitif Timss kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo.Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo.Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari data hasil tes kemampuan matematika berdasarkan domain kognitirf TIMSS dan wawancara yang digunakan sebagai data tambahan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan matematika berdasarakan domain kognitif TIMSS. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari hasil tes kemampuan matematika dari 25 siswa terdapat 5 orang siswa dalam kategori tinggi dengan besar presentase 22,61%, 16 orang siswa dalam kategori sedang dengan besar presentase 57,27%, dan 4 orang dalam kategori rendah dengan besar presentase 11,61%. Artinya tingkat kemampuan matematika siswa berdasarkan domain kognitif Timss kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo berada dalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

Penelitian Ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantuan website google sites dengan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran powerpoint. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple sampling random, sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 2 kelas. Berdasarkan hasil pengambilan, kelas VII-4 terpilih sebagai kelas eksperimen yang dibelajarkan menggunakan media berbantuan website google sites sedangkan kelas VII-1 sebagai kelas yang dibelajarkan menggunakan media powerpoint. Instrumen pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes hasil belajar yang berbentuk uraian/essay. Pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t yang menghasilkan thitung = 4,637, setelah dibandingkan dengan ttabel = t0,95:48 = 2,0106. Diperoleh thitung> ttabel yaitu 4,637 > 2,0106, maka H0 ditolak. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantuan website google sites dan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran powerpoint

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dalam menganalisis data dan menginterpretasi hasil Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) sebagai bagian dari pengembangan profesionalisme berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di gedung LPMP Provinsi Gorontalo dan Laboratorium Komputer FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, pada tanggal 10-11 Juli. Peserta kegiatan adalah guru yang tergabung dalam MGMP Matematika di Kabupaten Bone Bolango. Kegiatan pengabdian terdiri dari tiga sesi mencakup: materi dasar analisis data, pelatihan Microsoft Excel untuk statistik deskriptif, dan pengenalan SPSS untuk analisis data sistematis. Hasil pendampingan menunjukkan peningkatan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan guru, terlihat dari kemampuan menyusun tabel distribusi frekuensi, menghitung persentase ketuntasan belajar, membuat grafik, dan menginterpretasi output SPSS dengan percaya diri. Pendampingan serupa direkomendasikan untuk dilaksanakan secara berkelanjutan dengan waktu lebih panjang.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive e-module on probability material for eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tilongkabila. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Plomp model, which includes preliminary investigation, design, product development, testing and revision, and limited implementation. The research subjects consisted of two material experts, one media expert, one mathematics teacher, and eighth-grade students. Data were collected through expert validation sheets and teacher and student response questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques.The results showed that the interactive e-module was categorized as very valid by material experts with a percentage of 98%, and valid by media experts with 81.54%. Teacher and student responses reached 89.17% and 87.78%, respectively, indicating very positive responses. Therefore, the interactive e-module on probability material is valid, practical, and suitable for use in mathematics learning for eighth-grade junior high school students..

Abstract

The southern coast of Gorontalo has complex geological conditions. This is indicated by the strong tectonic influence with the uplift of the Quaternary limestone at high elevations. The distribution of this limestone is very unique because it is located between the dominance of volcanic and plutonic rocks that form the northern arm of Sulawesi. The purpose of this study was to focus on the characteristics of limestone on the south coast of Gorontalo based on specific gravity and water absorption tests. The research methods used to achieve these objectives consist of field geological surveys and laboratory analysis of the specific gravity and water absorption tests of coarse aggregate. The field geological survey consisted of taking limestone samples for laboratory analysis and petrological analysis. The results showed that the limestone on the southern coast of Gorontalo is dominated by the coralline floatstone facies. Characteristics of the coralline floatstone facies based on laboratory analysis showed an average specific gravity of 1.74 and an apparent specific gravity of 2.04. While the average percentage of limestone water absorption is 8.41%.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem affecting child growth, particularly in regions with high prevalence, such as Sulawesi Island. This study aims to compare two optimization methods, Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA), in the Fuzzy Geographically Weighted Clustering (FGWC) analysis to group regencies and cities based on factors contributing to stunting. The data used included health and socio-economic indicators from 66 regencies/cities in Sulawesi Island. Three validity indices—Classification Entropy (CE), Separation Index (SI), and Xie and Beni’s Index (XB)—were employed to assess clustering performance. The findings indicate that the FGWC-ABC method outperformed FGWC-GSA, yielding lower CE and XB values and a higher SI value, signifying better clustering results. The FGWC-ABC method, at a fuzziness value of m = 1.5, formed two clusters: Cluster 1, comprising 49 regencies/cities with relatively lower stunting prevalence and better socio-economic conditions, and Cluster 2, consisting of 17 regencies/cities with higher stunting prevalence and poorer socio-economic conditions. This study highlights the potential of FGWC-ABC in optimizing regional classification for targeted interventions in addressing stunting. The results provide a valuable reference for policymakers in designing effective strategies to mitigate stunting issues.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the forecasting accuracy of two statistical methods, namely Fuzzy Time Series (FTS) Model Lee and Double Exponential Smoothing (DES) Holt, in predicting the poverty line in Gorontalo Province. The data used were secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Gorontalo Province for the period 2004–2024. A quantitative descriptive approach with time series analysis was applied. The analysis process involved constructing the universe of discourse, fuzzification, and defuzzification for the FTS method, as well as double smoothing with parameters α and β for the DES method. The findings revealed that the FTS Lee model achieved the highest forecasting accuracy with a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 0.47%, while the DES Holt method yielded a MAPE of 2.26%. The forecasting results indicated that Gorontalo’s poverty line is projected to reach IDR 464,959.50 in 2025 and IDR 504,911.90 in 2026. These results suggest that the FTS Lee method is more effective in predicting socio-economic data characterized by high uncertainty.

Abstract

Student loyalty is an important indicator of institutional sustainability and competitiveness in higher education. One factor that influences student loyalty is the quality of academic services provided by universities. High-quality academic services can improve students’ learning experiences and increase their satisfaction, which in turn may strengthen their loyalty to the institution. This study aims to analyze the effect of academic service quality on student loyalty, with student satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. This research employs a quantitative approach using path analysis to examine both the direct and indirect relationships among the variables. Data were collected from university students through questionnaires measuring perceptions of academic service quality, student satisfaction, and student loyalty. The results show that academic service quality has a significant direct effect on student loyalty with a coefficient value of 0.327. In addition, academic service quality has a significant indirect effect on student loyalty through student satisfaction with a coefficient value of 0.241. These findings indicate that better academic service quality leads to higher student satisfaction, which subsequently enhances student loyalty toward the institution. The study emphasizes the importance of continuously improving academic service quality in order to create better learning experiences and strengthen student loyalty in higher education institutions.
