Abstract

Spline is one of the nonparametric approach, to adjust data so the final model has good flexibility. The purpose of this research is to model the time series data in the form of currency exchange rates by using the nonparametric B-spline approach. In B-spline modelling, determination of the order for the model, and the number and the placement of the knot are the criteria that must be considered. The best B-spline model obtained based on the selection of the optimal knot points with minimum Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) criteria. The modelling in this research use data on the exchange rate of the rupiah toward the US dollar in the period January 2014 - December 2018. The best B-spline model obtained by the 2 point knot approach, at points 11935.10 and 12438.29, with GCV valueequals to 55683.09.Keywords: Nonparametric Regression; B-Spline; Generalized Cross Validation

Abstract

The southern coast of Gorontalo has complex geological conditions. This is indicated by the strong tectonic influence with the uplift of the Quaternary limestone at high elevations. The distribution of this limestone is very unique because it is located between the dominance of volcanic and plutonic rocks that form the northern arm of Sulawesi. The purpose of this study was to focus on the characteristics of limestone on the south coast of Gorontalo based on specific gravity and water absorption tests. The research methods used to achieve these objectives consist of field geological surveys and laboratory analysis of the specific gravity and water absorption tests of coarse aggregate. The field geological survey consisted of taking limestone samples for laboratory analysis and petrological analysis. The results showed that the limestone on the southern coast of Gorontalo is dominated by the coralline floatstone facies. Characteristics of the coralline floatstone facies based on laboratory analysis showed an average specific gravity of 1.74 and an apparent specific gravity of 2.04. While the average percentage of limestone water absorption is 8.41%.

Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan adanya perbedaan penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada materi bilangan berpangkat. Metode penelitian ini yaitu metode kuasi eksperimen (Quasi Experimental) dengan desain penelitian post-test control design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 47 siswa SMPN 1 Talaga Jaya  dibagi ke dalam kelas control dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa setelah melakukan pembelajaran menggunakan PBL dengan hasil belajar siswa berdasarkan rata-rata nilai posttest untuk kelas eksperimen sebesar 61,58 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 56,43. Adapun hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji hipotesis (t-test) pada excel menggunakan analysis toolpak (t-Test: Paired Sample for Means) mendapatkan hasil sebesar 3,346 < 2,014 dengan α (0,05). Hal ini berarti menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai posttest yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan matematika siswa berdasarkan domain kognitif Timss kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo.Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo.Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari data hasil tes kemampuan matematika berdasarkan domain kognitirf TIMSS dan wawancara yang digunakan sebagai data tambahan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan matematika berdasarakan domain kognitif TIMSS. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari hasil tes kemampuan matematika dari 25 siswa terdapat 5 orang siswa dalam kategori tinggi dengan besar presentase 22,61%, 16 orang siswa dalam kategori sedang dengan besar presentase 57,27%, dan 4 orang dalam kategori rendah dengan besar presentase 11,61%. Artinya tingkat kemampuan matematika siswa berdasarkan domain kognitif Timss kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Gorontalo berada dalam kategori sedang.
