Abstract

The manufacturing industry in Banggai Regency, Indonesia, is growing rapidly and is the main sector supporting PDRB. PT Cita Rasa Pagimana, a producer of Pagimana's signature panada tore, faces product quality problems such as charring and crumbling despite clear production standards, causing losses due to the large number of defective products. This study aims to implement a combination of Statistical Quality Control (SQC) method with Seven Tools and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify the causes and resolve panada tore production defects. The results showed 6.680 defective products out of 189.590 products in December 2024, with charred defects accounting for 64% (4.393 products) and crumbled defects 36% (2.287 products). Based on FMEA, the five main causes with the highest RPN are: inconsistent frying technique, absence of oil thermometer, improper dosage of raw materials, overheating room temperature, and rough handling of dough. Recommendations for improvement include training on frying techniques, providing an oil temperature thermometer, adjusting the dosage of raw materials, adjusting the room temperature, and periodic training to improve employees' understanding of the production process, which is expected to reduce defects and improve product quality.

Abstract

Mathematics is a fundamental discipline that plays an important role in developing students' logical, analytical, and systematic thinking skills. However, many students still struggle with solving non-routine mathematical problems due to a reliance on memorization and teacher-centered learning. This study aims to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving ability, especially in probability, through the implementation of Polya’s problem-solving steps assisted by Lumio interactive media. This classroom action research employed the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages conducted over two cycles. The research subjects were 12 eighth-grade students from SMP Muhammadiyah Kwandang. Data were collected through tests and observation sheets, then analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The instruments included essay tests based on probability story problems and validated observation sheets for teacher and student activities. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ problem-solving skills. The average score increased from 70.05% in the first cycle to 83.59% in the second cycle. The proportion of students achieving mastery also rose from 33% to 91.7%. Learning activities became more interactive and student-centered. It is concluded that integrating Polya’s strategy and Lumio media is effective in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving skills and active learning engagement.

Abstract

Tuberculosis, primarily affecting the lungs and other organs, was the leading cause of death worldwide before the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to be a significant health concern. This research examined tuberculosis (TB) using a panel dataset. As a consequence, the datasets may contain outliers and contemporaneous correlations. A Robust Least Median of Square (LMS) model was developed in this research by combining Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) with Generalized Least Square (GLS) on panel data to provide an analysis overview to overcome outliers and contemporaneous correlations. Based on secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Gorontalo Province and the Ministry of Health of the Gorontalo Province, this research examines TB cases between 2017 and 2021. The Chow test result suggests that CEM is the most appropriate model for analyzing panel data for TB cases in Gorontalo Province between 2017 and 2021. Due to the presence of outliers and influential observations in the data, robust LMS is employed. Furthermore, there is a problem of contemporaneous correlation in this research. Each regency or city can mitigate this problem by implementing robust LMS using SUR with GLS.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to predict or identify an object's class using its available attributes through classification. The aim of this research is to use the random forest method to develop a classification model and the binary logistic regression method to discover significant determinants in cigarette consumption expenditure in Gorontalo Regency. The findings indicated that the size of the home, the number of family members, and the head of the household's educational attainment all had a considerable impact. Only the household head's educational attainment, however, consistently influences the model and satisfies the goodness of fit requirements. In contrast, the random forest model outperformed binary logistic regression in the classification analysis when classification characteristics including accuracy, precision, recall, and f1-score were assessed. Consequently, random forest was found to be the most effective classification model in this investigation.

Abstract

Abstract

A regression model that contains the dependent variable which is influenced by the current independent variable, and is also influenced by the independent variable at the previous time is called a distributed lag model. Distributed lag model is a dynamic model in econometrics that is useful in empirical econometrics because it makes a static economic theory dynamic by taking into account the role of time explicitly. There are two distributed lag models, namely the infinite lag model and the finite lag model using the Koyck method and the Almon method in determining the estimated Distributed lag model. This study aims to determine the Distributed lag model for the effect of the money supply on the rupiah exchange rate and determine the best model based on the Koyck method and the Almon method. From the results of selecting the best model based on the SIC value and judging by the more precise R2 of the Koyck method, the resulting model ist  = 7958 + 0.0002Xt + 0.000177Xt-1+ 0.000157Xt-2+ 0.000139Xt-3 + 0.0000123Xt-4

Abstract

The convolutional neural network is a deep learning method that functions to recognize and classify objects in an image. An example of its application is a facial recognition system which consists of a detection and classification process. Facial recognition by computers can be influenced by many things such as lighting, expressions, and the amount of dataset provided. This study aims to find out how to implement CNN to identify faces using Tensorflow with the Python programming language. The number of datasets used is 120 data and 10 respondents in total with different lighting conditions and shooting angles. Apart from the dataset, this study also uses several different scenarios in the training process, namely the difference in the number of epochs and the difference in the number of learning rates. Based on the results of the discussion, two models were obtained. In the first model, the results obtained an accuracy of 100% in the training process and 65% in the testing process. In the second model, the results obtained are 100% accuracy in the training process and 75% in the testing process. performance of the model made in this study can be said to be optimal in recognizing objects in several lighting conditions and image angles.
