Abstract

Adolescence is a time of physical and psychological growth as people transition to adulthood, and proper nutrition is essential for this process. Anemia, a condition characterized by a lack of red blood cells or hemoglobin, is the most common health issue among young women. In 2018, the prevalence of anemia was higher in women (27.2%) than in men (20.3%), and particularly high (32%) in the 15-24 age group. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of anemia among teenage women in a rural area . The study used a cross-sectional design and included 112 middle school female students in Rejang Lebong Regency. The data was collected using survey questionnaire and a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire to assess factors such as knowledge, the intake of calorie, protein, vitamin C, and iron. Correlation analysis and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the relations between these variables and anemia status. The correlation analysis showed that knowledge, calorie intake, and vitamin C were not significantly correlated with anemia (p values 0.378, 0.563 and 0.087, respectively). However, there was a significant correlation between iron and protein intake with the occurrence of anemia (p values 0.000 and 0.030).

Abstract

Breastmilk is the best natural food for babies, but the phenomenon that occurs in society today is that exclusive breastfeeding is still low. Low levels of exclusive breastfeeding can be detrimental to babies, mothers, families and the nation, including the risk of bad health. Efforts are needed from mothers of toddlers and support from outside to achieve the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The aim of this research is to explore in depth the causes of failure to provide exclusive breastfeeding at the Sidomulyo Community Health Center, Bengkulu City. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection obtained through in-depth interviews. The main study was 6 mothers who failed to breastfeed exclusively. Supporting informants consisted of 6 husbands/families, 1 head of the Community Health Center, 1 health worker, 1 KIA officer and 2 posyandu cadres at the Sidomulyo Community Health Center, Bengkulu City. The instrument used was an open question questionnaire. This research identifies the reasons why mothers do not give exclusive breast milk, namely breast milk that is not flowing smoothly, so the mother takes her own initiative to give formula milk to her baby. Even though support from husband/family and health workers has been provided, the failure of exclusive breastfeeding is still not resolved. So, from the results of this research, it is hoped that mothers can face all obstacles while providing exclusive breastfeeding, accompanied by support from their husband/family and health workers in providing advice, direction, opinions or explaining the appropriate actions to be taken by the mother.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Stunting yaitu kondisi tinggi badan (TB) seorang anak yang tak sesuai terhadap umurnya, dan pengukurannya dijalankan dengan memperhitungkan Z score indeks TB berdasarkan TB/U. Anak dinyatakan stunting apabila Z score indeks TB/U = < -2 SD. Kondisi stunting mengambarkan status gizi dimasa lampau tidak baik, juga menunjukkan terdapat masalah perkembangan linier kepada anak. Riset ini memiliki tujuan dalam mencari tahu Hubungan Riwayat Pemberian IMD Dan ASI Eksklusif Dengan Kejadian Stunting Anak Balita Umur 12-59 Bulan di Desa Napal Melintang Kecamatan Selangit Kabupaten Musi Rawas. Metode: Jenis pendekatan yang dipakai pada riset ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif yang menggunakan rancangan cross sectional, Sampelnya sebanyak 74 anak balita yang berumur 12-59 bulan. Analisis yang dipergunakan yaitu univariat dan bivariat terhadap pengujian chisquare. Hasil: Terdapat keterkaitan dalam memberikan IMD dan ASI eksklusif terhadap stunting anak balita di Desa Napal Melintang Kecamatan Selangit Kabupaten Musi Rawas dengan p -Value 0.003 dan 0.004. Kesimpulan: Tidak memberi IMD dan ASI eksklusif bisa menjadikan balita berpotensi menjadi stunting. Kata kunci : Stunting, IMD, ASI Eksklusif.

Abstract

Prevalensi kurang konsumsi buah dan sayur di Provinsi Bengkulu terus meningkat dari 93,5% menjadi 95,5%, Pada remaja usia 10-14 tahun di Bengkulu yang mengkonsumsi buah dan sayur dari proporsi makan 1-2 porsi per hari hanya 90,1%, 3-4 porsi hanya 8,0% dan 5 porsi atau lebih per hari hanya 0,4%. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan gizi dengan menggunakan video edukasi dan leaflet terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap remaja tentang konsumsi sayur dan buah sebagai antioksidan dalam meningkatkan sistem imun pada masa pandemi COVID-19 Di SMA Negeri 05 Seluma tahun 2021. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian two group pre test and post test. Lokasi penelitian di SMA Negeri 05 Kabupaten Seluma, waktu penelitian pada bulan Januari-Februari 2021. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa-siswi SMA Negeri 05 Kabupaten Seluma sebanyak 680 orang.Teknik Sampling yang digunakan yaitu Non Probability Sampling. Sampel penelitian ini ditentukan dengan metode purposive sampling sejumlah 40 orang yaitu kelas X IPA 1 dan IPA 3. Data dianalisis Univariat, Bivariat t-test dependen/wilcoxon test dan t-test independen/mann whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja. Edukasi dilakukan menggunakan media video edukasi dan leaflet tentang konsumsi sayur dan buah sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja. Kedua media dikembangkan semenarik mungkin. Diharapkan untuk penelitian selanjutnya selain mengukur pengetahuan dan sikap juga dapat mengukur tingkat konsumsi sayur dan buah serta menentukan sampel yang akan diambil agar penelitian tidak hanya dilakukan disekolah tetapi juga dilakukan dilingkungan masyarakat

Abstract

Abstrak Pendahuluan; Pandemi virus corona muncul pada akhir tahun 2019 dan hingga kini belum pulih. Corona virus merupakan salah satu patogen utama yang menyerang sistem pernafasan manusia. Salah satu langkah pencegahan penularan Covid-19 yaitu dengan paparan sinar matahari yang dapat mengaktifkan vitamin D dibawah kulit. Vitamin D dapat diproduksi di bawah kulit dengan bantuan sinar matahari (ultraviolet) berperan untuk meningkatkan imunitas dan menurunkan risiko infeksi saluran pernafasan akut. Tujuan: untuk menganalisis artikel tentang pengaruh paparan sinar matahari terhadap imunitas pada Covid-19. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah studi literatur yaitu cara yang dipakai dengan mengumpulkan artikel yang memiliki relevansi terhadap topik tertentu yang bisa diperoleh dan dipublikasi di berbagai sumber. Hasil: Dari artikel yang telah direview terdapat 2 artikel menunjukan bahwa sinar matahari dan vitamin D berkorelasi secara signifikan dengan kasus pemulihan dari Covid-19, sedangkan 4 artikel lainnya menunjukkan bahwa paparan sinar matahari dan vitamin D hanya dapat mengurangi kematian akibat Covid-19 dan 2 artikel menunjukan bahwa dosis radiasi UV sinar matahari yang lebih tinggi dapat menonaktifkan Covid-19. Kesimpulan; Paparan sinar matahari sangat baik untuk menjaga kecukupan vitamin D. Karena vitamin D yang aktif D3 berperan untuk meningkatkan imunitas natural dan menurunkan risiko infeksi saluran pernafasan akut. Kata Kunci: Penderita Covid-19, Imunitas, Sinar Matahari, Vitamin D

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the organoleptic acceptability and antioxidant activity of bay flower yoghurt with variations in the addition of bay flower extracts of 1%, 3%, and 5%. This research is important because functional foods such as synbiotic products that combine probiotics and prebiotics have significant health benefits. It is hoped that the results of the study will provide information on the optimal level of addition of telang flower extract in yogurt to obtain the best health benefits and good acceptance by consumers. Methodology: A one-factor completely randomized design was used in this study as the experimental method. The factor tested was the addition of bay flower extract with three treatment units: F1 (1%), F2 (3%), and F3 (5%). Data were collected through organoleptic tests on color, aroma, taste, viscosity, and overall by 30 panelists. In addition, antioxidant activity was measured using the DPPH method used to assess the ability of compounds to neutralize free radicals. Results: Organoleptic test results showed that 5% telang flower extract yogurt (F3) had the best acceptability. The antioxidant activity measurement results showed the total antioxidant activity of F1 was 909.88, F2 was IC50 750.8608, and F3 was IC50 1277.024. The antioxidant activity test results showed that the antioxidant strength was weak because the IC50 was more than 150. Findings: This study found that 5% bay flower extract yogurt (F3) had the best organoleptic acceptability. However, the antioxidant activity of bay flower yoghurt was still relatively weak despite the increase in bay flower extract addition. Novelty: This study offers a new approach in making bayang flower extract yoghurt as a source of anthocyanins and antioxidants. The use of telang flower in synbiotic yoghurt products is an innovation that has not been widely explored before. Originality: This study demonstrates originality in incorporating bay flower extract as a functional component in synbiotic yoghurt and evaluating its impact on organoleptic acceptability and antioxidant activity. Conclusion: This study concluded that 5% bay flower extract yoghurt (F3) was the best in terms of organoleptic acceptability, although its antioxidant activity was still weak. Abstract

Adolescents today are increasingly at risk of becoming overweight, largely due to factors related to food consumption and lifestyle. This study aimed to determine the relationship between night eating habits, sedentary behavior, and peer influence with the incidence of overweight among adolescents at SMA Negeri 07 Bengkulu City in 2024. This research was conducted using an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 54 grade XI students, selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Night eating habits were assessed using a 3x24-hour recall form supplemented with food photographs, sedentary behavior was measured using the Adolescent Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ), and peer influence was evaluated through a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate techniques, processed with SPSS software, and assessed with the chi-square test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The findings revealed that a significant proportion of respondents exhibited frequent night eating habits (44.4%, p = 0.002), high levels of sedentary behavior (44.4%, p = 0.006), and were significantly influenced by their peers (61.1%, p = 0.004). The study concludes that there is a significant association between night eating habits, sedentary behavior, and peer influence with the incidence of overweight among adolescents at SMA Negeri 07 Bengkulu City.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one type of degenerative disease that has increased every year in countries around the world, including Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional knowledge, diet and glycemic index status with blood sugar levels during type II DM patients at Pasar Ikan City Health Center. Bengkulu in 2024. Methods Analytic observation research with cross sectional design. 55 people with type II DM as a sample taken with simple random sampling technique. Nutritional knowledge was measured using a questionnaire, while diet and glycemic index status were measured using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) form. Intermittent blood sugar levels were measured using the Nesco Multicheck tool. Univariate and bivariate data analysis was processed using SPSS software with chi square test with a significance value of α=0.05. Results: There were 80% of respondents with poor knowledge, 89.5% with poor diet, and 82.1% with high glycemic index status. Conclusion: There is a relationship between nutritional knowledge, diet, glycemic index status, and the biggest influence is diet.

Abstract

Penyakit diabetes melitus (DM) termasuk dalam sepuluh penyakit tidak menular yang menduduki peringkat teratas kasus terbanyak dan merupakan penyakit dengan beban pembiayaan terbesar. Penyakit DM yaitu tidak dapat disembuhkan dan seringkali menimbulkan komplikasi di banyak bagian tubuh, dan  meningkatkan risiko kematian dini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan konsumsi karbohidrat dan aktivitas fisik dengan kadar gula darah pada pegawai Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pegawai Poltekkes Kemenekes Bengkulu yang memiliki riwayat keluarga diabetes melitus berjumlah 33 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Total Sampling. Analisis yang dilakukan adalah analisis univariat dan bivariat  menggunakan  uji korelasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan  tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna terhadap konsumsi karbohidrat dengan kadar gula darah pada pegawai Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu dan ada hubungan aktivitas fisik dengan kadar gula darah pada pegawai Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu. Saran yang diharapkan bagi responden menjaga makanan yang dikonsumsi terutama karbohidrat sederhana serta rutin berolahraga dan selalu mengontrol kadar gula darah.Kata Kunci: aktivitas fisik, kadar gula darah,konsumsi karbohidrat

Abstract

Background: Nutrition is more commonly known as obesity is a condition where the calories consumed are more than the calories used causing excessive accumulation of fat in the body which can result in health problems. Objective: This study plans to find out information about excess nutrition in adolescents, especially junior high school students, regarding the relationship between eating habits and physical activity with the incidence of overweight Methods: The population in this study were class 7 and 8 with a total sample of 62 people with a cross sectional study design. Data analysis used bivariate analysis using the Chi Square tes.t. Results: there are more unhealthy eating habits than good habits, while for very light physical activity there are more than light activities. Conclusion: There is a relationship between eating habits and physical activity with the incidence of overweight in junior high school adolescents. Poor eating habits and very little physical activity can potentially lead to over nutrition.
