Abstract

(This research aims to analyze the application of the hybrid contract model on the Bai’ Al-Wafa’ Ma’al Ijarah contract in financing products at BMT. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach on BMT Mawaddah. Data were obtained through interviews with BMT officials and members, as well as the analysis of documents related to the Bai’ Al-Wafa’ Ma’al Ijarah contract. The results of the study indicate that the application of the hybrid contract model on the Bai’ Al-Wafa’ Ma’al Ijarah contract can improve financing effectiveness and minimize risks for BMT. This hybrid contract combines principles from two types of contracts, Bai' Al-Wafa' and Ijarah, thus expanding the scope of financing offered by BMT. Additionally, the hybrid contract can also reduce default and loss risks for BMT since there are guarantees from the lessee of the goods or services leased. However, this research also found some challenges in the implementation of the hybrid contract on the Bai’ Al-Wafa’ Ma’al Ijarah contract at BMT, such as a lack of understanding and awareness of the hybrid contract among BMT members, and difficulties in executing the contract. Therefore, this study recommends the need for increased understanding and socialization of the hybrid contract on the Bai’ Al-Wafa’ Ma’al Ijarah contract among BMT members, as well as the need for guidance and training in executing the contract.)

Research Methods: The research employs primary and secondary data collected through observations and questionnaires distributed to students, administrators, and stakeholders in Islamic boarding schools in East Java. The data are analyzed using SWOT to identify internal and external factors affecting the implementation of the BMS model. Results: The findings reveal strengths such as adherence to sharia principles, avoidance of usury, and facilitating student payments. However, weaknesses include limited human resources, slow collection systems, and inadequate infrastructure. Opportunities include a defined student customer base, strategic location, and a safe environment. Threats include technological advances, limited technological proficiency, and dishonest customers. Conclusion: Based on SWOT analysis, the study recommends strategies focusing on improving human resource capacity, collaborating with financial institutions, and enhancing financial education for students. Abstract

The failure of the conventional economic system has been clear in world economic history. The occurrence of global crises is the result of the application of the interest system as a result of capitalism and the collapse of the Soviet Union as a tangible form of the failure of the socialist economic system led to the awareness of economists to review the two conventional systems and even require other alternatives that are more ethical and humane so that the same thing does not happen. The Islamic economic system meets these criteria. However, the Islamic economic system cannot be implemented without the support of knowledge about the characteristics and design of the Islamic economy. This study aims to explore the concepts of Islamic economics that are unique compared to the conventional economic system, the design of Islamic economics, and its implementation to anticipate the global crisis. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review method. Data were obtained from scientific journals, books, and official documents relevant to the research topic. The analysis is done descriptively analytically to explore the main characteristics of Islamic economics and develop the system design. The results show that the Islamic economic system that offers a profit-sharing system, as applied in Islamic banks, is resilient in the face of the global crisis. In addition, the impact of the worldwide crisis that adversely affects poverty can be overcome through the instruments of Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf, which are therefore essential to institutionalize and manage properly, transparently and accountably.
