For the people of Kuli Village, the existence of mangrove forests which are very important as a support for their lives directly and indirectly has been felt by the people of Kuli Village. Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the availability of forest honey bee feed, the impact of forest honey bee nesting sites and the impact of changes in the income of forest honey bee farmers in Uiasa Village, Semau District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara before and after the Tropical Cyclone Storm Seroja. This research was carried out around the Pastello Amalato Protected Forest Area, Uiasa Village, Semau District, Kupang Regency, which was carried out for 1 month, from April to May 2022. This research used purposive sampling, interview and roaming methods with data analysis using descriptive qualitative and descriptive analysis. quantitative. The impact of food availability after the Seroja Tropical Cyclone Storm consists of two factors, namely reduced forage for forest honey bees and disruption of the flowering time of forage plants. The impact of forest honey bee nesting after the Seroja tropical cyclone storm was influenced by the movement of forest honey bee hives from their original place to another and the altitude where the forest honey bee nest trees were found was mostly at an altitude of 25-45 meters above sea level compared to other elevations with the number of honey bee trees is 10 trees and 7 trees at an altitude of 0-25 meters above sea level.

Abstract

Birds are wild animals that play an important role in building the food chain, helping pollination, controlling insect pest populations, and seed dispersal agents that are useful for natural forest regeneration. An animal is said to be endemic if the species is a native species that can only be found in one place and not found in other places or areas as well as Endemic Birds that will be studied in the Mutis Nature Reserve Area. This study was conducted to determine the population density of Timor endemic birds along the Patrol Route to Padang I, Fatumnasi Village, Mutis Nature Reserve, South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This research was conducted from April to May 2022. Data collection on the Population Density of Timor's Endemic Birds used the Point Count method. Bird population density data analysis used the Krebs formula and the Eisenberg formula. The results of this study recorded that 6 species of birds with the highest population density were Myzomela Timor (0.72 ind/ha), Timor Honeysucker (0.61 ind/ha), Timor Pergam (0.55 ind/ha), Opior Timor (0.50 ind/ha) and the lowest population density or the least in the Timor Kancilan (0.24 ind/ha) and Timor Anis (0.38 ind/ha). Over time, population density will decrease or increase according to the resilience of adaptation to changes in environmental conditions and competition with other organisms.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the range and core area of the Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis). This research was carried out in the Kelimutu National Park, specifically the Utilization Zone of the Kelimutu National Park, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara which was conducted for 1 month, from November to December 2022. This research used the Zoatrack WebGIS method which organizes home ranges using the Minimum Convex Polygon (MCP). and core areas using Kernel Utilization Distribution and data analysis using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the home range area analyzed using the Minimum Convex Polygon (MCP) was 47.7 Ha, with the home range of the Long-tailed Monkey (Macaca fascicularis) located in almost the Utilization Zone of Kelimutu National Park. The results of the analysis of the core area using the Kernel Utilization Distribution show that the area of the core area is 16.2 Ha. The results of the core area show that there are two core areas that are frequently visited by the Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis), this is due to the large number of visitors who are a source of food and trees as a place to rest in the Kelimutu National Park area.

Abstract

The presence and abundance of soil organisms are influenced by the quality of the vegetation growing above them. Conversely, the activities of soil organisms also affect plant growth and consequently determine the productivity of their habitat. This study aimed to identify soil macrofauna found in agricultural land surrounding the Mutis Timau Nature Reserve forest area. The study was conducted on agricultural land in Fatumnasi Village, Fatumnasi District, South Central Timor Regency. An exploratory approach was employed by directly collecting and observing soil macrofauna in the field. Soil macrofauna samples were collected using the pitfall trap method. The collected specimens were identified using a soil animal ecology identification guide. The results showed that the soil macrofauna consisted of nine orders belonging to the phylum Arthropoda. The arthropods were classified into three classes: Insecta, Malacostraca, and Arachnida. The nine identified orders were Diptera, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Orthoptera, Hymenoptera, Araneae, Isopoda, and Odonata.

Abstract

The community's decision to participate or not in an activity is influenced by subjective factors such as the community's own perception of the activity (Ngakan, 2006). The importance of community perceptions about the purpose and benefits of community forestry as a system in forestry to be managed properly and correctly so as to achieve goals in preserving and prospering the community (Heryatna et al., 2015). The Baolangu Village Community Forest Utilization Business Permit was granted to the Belek Lerek Forest Farmer Group Association consisting of 5 forest farmer groups covering an area of + 150 Ha in the Protected Forest area in Baolangu Village. Of the 5 forest farmer groups formed, 1 forest farmer group remains active but in general the community continues to manage their Community Forest land. The purpose of this study was to determine the positive perceptions of the community about Community Forests that influence community participation in Community Forest management. The technique of taking respondents in this study used the census method, namely taking one population group as a whole sample and using a structured questionnaire as a data collection tool with a total of 77 respondents. The measurement scale used is the Likert scale model. The results showed that community participation of the Belek Lerek Forest Farmer Group Association in the implementation stage of the Community Forest was high (58.77%), and the utilization stage was high (61.29%), because the community managed their respective Community Forest areas by planting plantation crops, food and horticulture, the results of which were not only for consumption but also for sale. This is influenced by the community's positive perception of the Baolangu Village Community Forest, where the IUPHKm provides certainty of access rights to the community to participate in managing the forest area, the existence of the Community Forest can increase household income and community empowerment carried out by related institutions such as KPH Lembata is running well.

Abstract

Encroachment is one of the problems that occured in the Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve. This study aims to determined several factors that caused encroachment in the Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve and activities in overcoming the problem. The method used in this study was a non-probabity sampling method for community people that lives nearby the research area and the management of the Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve. The sampling techniques for the community people uses the snowball sampling method, while for the management officer of the Nature Reserve uses the purposive sampling method. The results showed that there were eight factors causing encroachment in the Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve, namely economic, education, number of family members, limited of land, unclear boundaries area, community awareness, land tenure, and limited of officer number. Activities carried out in overcoming this encroachment problem are patrolling the area, joint patrols with the police, forming forest police (POLHUT) in partnership with the Communities, socialization to the community about the Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve Area, collaboration with the government in maintaining the Nature Reserve and to overcomes the problems of enchroachment, assistance and training to the community in optimizing agricultural products and the approaches through a 3-pillar scheme involving government, community, and indigenous leaders as well as religious leaders.
