Abstract

Character education is an effort that is carried out in a planned and sustainable manner and involves all components bound to change and develop one's character and personality, including components of knowledge, awareness or will, and actions taken. Character is a psychological trait, character, morals or a person's character that distinguishes an individual from other individuals. Therefore, this study aims to describe the character values ​​of students at UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Selatan. The research was conducted using a descriptive method with a quantitative approach where information will be processed and presented in descriptive form or in the form of sentences. The data collection instrument in this study was using observation sheets, interview transcripts and questionnaires. The results showed that the character of the students at the UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Selatan was generally well indicated with an average percentage ranging from 71% -85%, where the character values ​​​​sequentially from the highest percentage were nationalist 84.76%, integrity 80.87 , religious 77.64%, mutual cooperation 77.50%, and the character of independence occupies the lowest position with a percentage of 73.05%.

Abstract

Education is an activity that is carried out in guiding and directing someone. With education, it can also humanize humans in a better direction as it exists and we can see at this time. That the more technology develops, the less character patterns possessed by today's children. This research is a qualitative research using a descriptive approach. Based on the results and data obtained, it is concluded that student character can be influenced by the use of technology. after examining how student character is affected by the use of technology (gadgets). Some of the solutions the authors can offer include: 1) It is hoped that students will use fewer gadgets in order to increase children's self-control and prevent them from playing too much with gadgets which can later interfere with children's mental and physical health. 2) It is expected that parents can control and limit the use of gadgets by their children by controlling how long they play with these gadgets. 3) It is hoped that teachers can teach students about the dangers of excessive use of gadgets and can also show students how to use gadgets correctly, one of which is by using them as learning tools.

Abstract

Learning is an activity between teachers and students in order to achieve learning objectives. The success or failure of achieving the learning objectives is determined by the teacher, because the teacher plays an active role in providing enthusiasm and growing students' desire to be enthusiastic in carrying out learning, a teacher must be able to guide students to be better in attitude, physically and also psychologically in participating in the learning process. The teacher's job is to provide knowledge and students are the recipients of that knowledge. Teaching and learning activities are activities of communicating knowledge to students and students act as recipients of the knowledge that has been taught by the teacher. This study aims to find out how important learning media is in increasing student interest and motivation in learning, where students sometimes feel bored with the learning methods used by teachers such as the lecture method, teachers demand more students to listen and understand the material presented by the teacher without expecting activeness students in participating in classroom learning, even though with the utilization of learning media students will be more active, innovative and creative. The research method used in this study was qualitative research with data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires and interview guides. Where the research subjects were students and teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara. By conducting this research we can conclude that in a learning activity that uses the media as an instrument that helps learning activities can create students who are characterized and active, innovative and creative and can be implemented in 3 things, among others in the educator, in the self educate and in teaching and learning.

Abstract

Gadgets are tools that can be used to receive, search and obtain various sources of information from outside with a wide range of information. The purpose of this research is to analyze how student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli are influenced by the use of technology. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research. The population in this study were 387 students at SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli and the sample was determined using a non-probability type with a purposive sampling technique of 197 people with a significant level of 5%. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation and questionnaires. For data processing, namely conducting validity tests, reliability tests, and correlation tests. The results of the study show that there is a negative effect of using gadgets on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. Through testing the hypothesis with the correlation test obtained t-table of 0.1398 so that t-count = 0.147989 > t-table = 0.1398.

Abstract

This research was conducted to see how the Discovery Learning learning model affects student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 1 Alasa. This study used a real experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. All participants in this study were grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Alasa. The direct random sampling process was used to select samples, and class VIII-1 was designated as the experimental class and class VIII-2 as the control class. In this study, the test instrument consisted of 20 multiple choice questions. With SPPS, data analysis uses t-test. Based on the results of the independent sample t-test which gives a significance value of 0.000 > 0.05, the hypothesis can be accepted that the discovery learning model influences student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 1 Alasa.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of use of the Student Workbook (BKS) at SMK Negeri 2 Mandrehe which resulted in low student motivation in the learning process. This study aims to develop Problem Based Learning Student Workbooks (BKS) based on Problem Based Learning in biology class X that are empirically feasible through validation of content/material experts, linguists, design experts, assessment of subject teachers, practicality (response), and effectiveness Developed BKS. This research is a development research using quantitative methods. The tool used to collect data is a validation form which includes aspects such as content/material, language, student response questionnaires, and academic achievement tests. The results of the Content/Material Validation study reached 98% with very valid criteria; Linguist validation reaches 100% with very valid criteria; Design Expert Validation reaches a percentage of 97% with very valid criteria; teacher verification reached 97%. With a 100% validation level in the research field, this standard is very valid. For field test results obtained a percentage of 96.25% (a very practical standard), and for the effectiveness of BKS obtained a very effective standard with an achievement percentage of 85% of student learning completeness, which is a very effective standard.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the low ability of students to solve science learning problems and the methods used by teachers in the learning process did not vary. This research aims to (1) describe the learning process using the inquiry learning model, (2) describe the quality of the learning process using the inquiry learning model, (3) describe students' problem solving abilities using the inquiry learning model. The research location is UPTD SMP Negeri 8 Gunungsitoli. The research subjects were 32 class IX students. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research which consists of four stages, namely a) Planning, b) Action, c) Observation, and d) Reflection. The research instruments are: a) Observation sheet, b) Problem solving ability test, c) Learning process quality questionnaire, d) Documentation and e) Interview guide sheet. Research results: (1) The science learning process in Cycle I was 71.15% in the sufficient category and in Cycle II it was 87.98% in the very good category. (2) The quality of the science learning process in Cycle I was 71% in the sufficient category and in Cycle II it was 87% in the very high category. (3) Problem-solving ability indicator identified problems by 85% increased to 100%, indicator collected data by 76% increased to 97%, indicator set hypothesis by 70% increased to ie 84%, indicator tested hypothesis by 64% increased to 74%, indicator drew conclusions by 66% increased to 75%, In Cycle I the average value was 70.99 (sufficient), standard deviation was 10.3, in cycle II increased to 85.93 (good), standard deviation 9,1.

Abstract

The background to the implementation of this research was the low critical thinking skills of students at SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai. The objectives of this research are: (1) To determine students' critical thinking abilities in science learning using the Problem Based Learning learning model at SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai. (2) Describe the learning process using the Problem Based Learning learning model in science learning at SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai. The instruments used in this research are: (1) Test of students' critical thinking abilities, (2) Questionnaire sheet for students' critical thinking abilities, (3) Observation sheet to observe the learning process. Research results: (1) The critical thinking ability of students in science learning using the Problem Based Learning learning model is an average value (mean) of 73.76 in the good category, the standard deviation is 7.805 and for each indicator of critical thinking ability is at the stage of providing a simple explanation was obtained by 85.93%, the stage of building basic skills was obtained by 84.41%, the stage of making inferences or conclusions was 79.59%, the stage of making further explanations was obtained by 82.76%, and the stage of organizing strategies and technique obtained a percentage of 81.38%. (2) The learning process using the Problem Based Learning learning model in science learning at SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai obtained results of 86.96% classified as Good.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of developing independent curriculum-based modules in high school biology learning. This type of research is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. Data collection in the research used a questionnaire with a Likert scale which was used to assess the suitability of the module to experts and students' responses to the practicality of the module, as well as assessing the effectiveness of the module using learning outcome tests. The subjects in this research were material, language and media validators, 6 students in class X MIPA 1 for small group trials and 21 students in class X MIPA 2 for field trials. The results of data analysis show that the independent curriculum-based module in high school biology learning is feasible, practical and effective for use, as is known from the validation results by material, language, media experts and the results of student response questionnaires and student learning outcomes. Accumulated validation by material (content) validity of 98.3% and 91.6%, language validity of 95% and media (design) validity of 93.30% with very valid criteria. The average student response results from small group trials reached 90.83% and field tests reached 90.51% with very practical information, while the average learning outcomes of field trial students reached 85.31% with very effective information.

Abstract

Learning is an assistance provided by educators so that the process of acquiring knowledge and science, mastery of skills and habits, and the formation of attitudes and beliefs in students can occur. This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of the talking stick learning model on science learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 1 Hilihuho. This study is a quantitative study with a pre-experimental design. The population in the study were all students in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Hilihuho totaling 62 people and the research sample was class VIII-B totaling 31 people selected using random sampling techniques. The instrument used in the study was in the form of a learning outcome test, where the test was divided into two types, namely a pre-test before giving treatment and a post-test after giving treatment in the form of implementing the talking stick learning model. Based on the results of data analysis using SPSS, it is known that the significance level value obtained is 0.00 or in other words that the significance level is <0.05. So specifically it can be concluded that there is an influence of the talking stick learning model on the learning outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 1 Hilihuho.
