Abstract

Pendahuluan: Resin akrilik heat cured merupakan bahan yang umum dipakai sebagai basis gigi tiruan. Warna plat resin akrilik menjadi salah satu perhatian khusus karena berkaitan dengan estetika jaringan mulut. Resin akrilik dapat menyerap cairan berwarna dan menyebabkan perubahan warna, yang mengurangi nilai estetika gigi tiruan. Bunga rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L) merupakan tanaman herbal yang sering digunakan sebagai pewarna alami. Kandungan pada bunga Rosella yaitu antosianin yang dapat memberikan warna merah. Secara farmokologis bunga rosella memiliki aktivitas antibakteri, antifungi, antiinflamasi, antidiabetes, antioksidan dan anti hipertensi. Desain penelitian: systematic literature review. Sampel penelitian: literatur sebanyak 30 artikel jurnal penelitian, ditambah beberapa buku referensi. Tujuan penelitian: untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak bunga rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L) sebagai denture cleanser terhadap perubahan warna plat resin akrilik heat cured. Hasil penelitian: Ekstrak bunga rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L) mengandung antosianin yang dapat berfungsi sebagai antibakteri dan antifungi, namun mempengaruhi perubahan warna plat akrilik heat cured. Kesimpulan: Konsentrasi 60% ekstrak bunga rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L) paling memberikan pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap perubahan warna dengan durasi perendaman 183 jam. Hal tersebut ekuivalen dengan penggunaan gigi tiruan akrilik heat cured selama 3 tahun dengan asumsi perendaman selama 10 menit per hari paling dapat memberikan pengaruh perubahan warna plat resin akrilik secara signifikan.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Keadaan klinis penderita dengan kehilangan banyak gigi posterior memerlukan perencanaan perawatan yang optimal agar penderita nyaman menggunakan gigi tiruan tersebut. Dengan kemajuan ilmu kedokteran gigi, sisa gigi yang ada dapat digunakan sebagai abutment suatu gigi tiruan. Precision attachment retained removable partial denture atau biasa disebut hybrid prothesis menggunakan sisa gigi asli sebagai abutment untuk mengembalikan fungsi pengunyahan pasien yang mengutamakan estetika dan retensi. Tujuan: Studi kasus ini bertujuan melaporkan penatalaksanaan kasus dan prosedur klinis secara bertahap dalam pembuatan precision attachment retained removable partial denture rahang atas. Kasus: Seorang wanita berusia 55 tahun, datang ke klinik dokter gigi dengan keadaan klinis pada rahang atas tersisa gigi 11,12,13,21,22,23,24. Gigi hilang 14,15,16,17,18,25,26,27,28. Penderita ingin dibuatkan gigi tiruan untuk mengembalikan fungsi pengunyahan yang baik secara estetik. Penggunaan precision attachment retained removable partial denture pada rahang atas dipilih karena keadaan klinis dan periodontal gigi 12,13,23,24 baik digunakan sebagai abutment. Precision attachment digunakan untuk retensi gigi tiruan yang secara estetik sangat baik karena tidak memerlukan cengkeram kawat. Tatalaksana kasus: Gigi 12,13,23,24 dipreparasi untuk dijadikan gigi abutment yang dipasang splint crown. Precision attachment berupa ball diletakkan di distal splint crown 13 dan 24. Splint crown 12,13 dan 23,24 dipasang coba, kemudian dicetak fungsional lagi dengan bahan cetak elastomer putty dan light body. Prosedur selanjutnya pembuatan metal frame untuk gigi tiruan sebagian lepasan (GTSL) dan pasang coba susunan anasir gigi tiruan. Setelah dipasang coba, GTSL metal frame di processing di dental laboratorium, kemudian insersi hybrid prothesis. Kesimpulan: Penderita merasa puas dengan estetik dan retensi gigi tiruan yang baik dan kenyamanan dalam pengunyahan.

Abstract

School health program is a program of preventive promotional activities in the field of dentistry using the method “trainer of trainer” or abbreviated as ToT. The program is organized by the Indonesian Association of Dentists (PDGI) together with dental faculties across Indonesia as trainers and multinational company as facilitator. The goal of this program is to create a generation of a nation that will be free of tooth cavities by 2030. Teachers and parents of students with special needs are the target audience for this training, enabling them to carry out morning and night toothbrushing activities for good dental and oral health. ToT's activities include two things: giving advice to teachers and students' parents and brushing their teeth in the morning and evening for 21 days. The problem is that children with special needs do not have the same abilities as other children in terms of receiving information, responding to teaching, and applying what has been taught. Low levels of independence and varying levels of learning difficulties are challenges for trainees. Special methods in teaching morning and night toothbrush activities should be applied well to both teachers and parents of students with special needs, such as how to brush their teeth, the habits of brushing the teeth properly, the use of special brushes, and tips and tricks that can be implemented by the teacher and parents so that children with special requirements can run the program.

Abstract

Introduction: Peri-implantitis treatment aims to replace the damaged bone with new and healthy tissue during bone remodeling process. Bone grafts are materials used to stimulate the formation of new bone. Bone graft material derived from Anadara granosa (AG) can be synthesized into hydroxyapatite–tricalcium phosphate (HA-TCP) at a 70:30 ratio, which supports bone regeneration, as indicated by an increase in osteoblast numbers and decrease in osteoclast numbers. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Anadara granosa bone graft in the number of osteoblasts and osteoclasts during bone remodeling process. Methods: This study employed an experimental design with a post-test only control group. A total of 84 mice were divided into 12 groups (7 mice per group): negative control (K−), positive control (K+), and treatment group (P), each observed on days 14 and 28. Histological analysis was performed to count osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. Results: The number of osteoclasts was significantly reduced in the treatment groups (P14: 7.00 ± 1.528; P28: 6.57 ± 1.512) compared to the positive controls (K+14: 13.86 ± 2.410; K+28: 14.29 ± 1.496). On the contrary, the number of osteoblasts increased in the treatment groups (P14: 7.14 ± 1.676; P28: 8.57 ± 1.272) compared to the positive controls (K+14: 2.57 ± 1.512; K+28: 3.86 ± 1.574). Statistical analysis indicated that osteoblasts showed significant differences after AG treatment (p<0.05), and the ANOVA test showed significant differences in osteoclast number after AG treatment (p<0.05).      Conclusion: The number of osteoblasts increases while the number of osteoclast reduces in bone remodelling of bone defect caused by peri-implantitis using AG bone graft.
